Frontiers Music Srl has announced a March 20 release date for TOTO XIV in Europe, with The UK and Oceania on 3/23, and North America on March 24. The album will hit retail globally, with specific dates for territories in Asia, South America and others to follow.

Configurations for the album will also include CD, with a deluxe edition available featuring a "making of" documentary on DVD, expanded booklet that includes an in depth story and interview about the new album alongside exclusive pictures in ecol-book packaging. Additionally Toto XIV will be available as a 2LP vinyl set, and a Super Deluxe limited edition which includes the Deluxe CD/DVD edition, 2LP vinyl, an exclusive poster, t-shirt (large size only), and lithograph.
Toto XIV is a realized vision three plus decades in the making exhibiting world-class musicianship, masterful arrangements, topical lyrical commentary, and melodies that the collective genius of Lukather, Paich, Porcaro, Williams and their assembled band-mates bring to life. TOTO XIV is the band’s first album of new material since 2006’s Falling In Between. However, the band personally considers the new album to be the true follow-up to TOTO IV, which made the band global superstars.
Keyboardist Steve Porcaro reveals, "This is opposite of going through the motions. We are treating this like it is Toto V, our follow-up to TOTO IV. We just want to be the best version of ourselves that we can be. Be true to ourselves and make the best music we can. Entertain people which is what we were put on this Earth for." Keyboardist David Paich reflects, "I think of TOTO as a unit and a band that carries a responsibility when it goes out there in to the public consciousness. There is so much negativity and darkness that I think you have to be as Quincy Jones puts it, 'beams of light that blast through the darkness'."
As they began the process of a return the studio, all of the principle long-term members brought their A-game to the table. Guitarist Steve "Luke" Lukather offers, "When you put us in a room, and everybody brings in their pieces, the next thing you know it all fits together. Everybody's performances are top notch. We are really bringing our best out, forcing ourselves to make personal best choices, what's best for the music. I'm really excited to hear what people think." Singer Joseph Williams adds, "We are talking about a band where everybody is a writer, and everybody is a lead singer, and everybody is a player. All involved brought this trio to the table where it could just live on its own."
The band will hit the ground running with an extensive European headline arena tour with appearances at key festivals. The itinerary begins in Glasgow on May 21, and takes Toto through the UK, France, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Italy, and Belgium. Ticket sales came out of the box with strength, with some appearances selling out within days of on-sale. A North American tour will follow in the summer of 2015. The band is also in the planning stages for their return to Asia later this year.
The last couple of years have been active, with a seven show sold-out tour of Asia that took them through Nagoya, Osaka, Tokyo, Sendai and Sapporo in April, 2014. Also that month, the 35th Anniversary Tour - Live In Poland title was released, debuting at #1 in territories across the globe. Last August and September, the band hit the road travelling across North America as co-headliners with Michael McDonald, which when it was all said and done was their most comprehensive tour on the continent in years.
Toto also continues to raise awareness for ALS, for their brother and friend, Mike Porcaro, who has been diagnosed with ALS, Lou Gehrig's Disease. The band commits energies towards fundraising for Police and Fire Departments of California and the Fallen Heroes initiative (http://www.fallenheroes.org/), and help the United Nations in their humanitarian endeavors through music.
A new two-disc Steve Howe career retrospective will be released next month. The Yes guitarist has personally handpicked 33 tracks for Anthology drawing primarily from the studio albums he recorded between 1975 and 2011, including a pair of covers (Just Like A Woman and Buckets Of Rain) from the 1999 album Portraits of Bob Dylan. The collection sees many tracks newly remastered for 2015 and will be released on 9 March 2015.

NR: So what's happening to TNT these days, after losing two Tony's in two years?
Ronnie: We won't retire just because a singer quits. People have tried to break the band previously on those terms. But they can't - we'll go on! We are searching for a new singer now, and will hold auditions shortly. I haven't told the press about this yet, you are the first one to know. We'll find a singer who is even better! And also able to reproduce what our previous singers did.
NR: What were the reasons for the Tony’s leaving?
Ronnie: Nothing dramatic, Mills had been with us for 8 years and we are still on speaking terms. Harnell leaving, well, that was almost expected. I have no desire to Discover exactly why. Those who want to leave the band may leave the band. We'll continue no matter what.
Swedish heavy rockers MARYS CREEK signs worldwide management deal with Germany’s Rock’N’Growl Promotion/Management. Camarillo, CA - Metal icons Scorpions' legendary “Virgin Killer” album will be released on limited edition 180gm vinyl by Marshall Blonstein's Audio Fidelity in April. “Virgin Killer” is the first of four studio releases that really defined the Scorpions and their highly influential urgent metallic sound. It was released in 1976 and was the first album of the band to attract attention outside Europe. The album was a step in the band's shift from psychedelic music to hard rock. For the first time in the band's career the line-up stayed the same with Klaus Meine on vocals, Uli Jon Roth on lead guitar, Rudolf Schenker on rhythm guitar, Francis Buchholz on bass, and Rudy Lenners on drums. The nine tracks were laid down with Dieter Dierks producing.
The band is in top form and churns out some melodic yet blistering heavy rock. “Virgin Killer” is full of heavy songs and exceptionally, fast, innovative guitar leads by Uli Jon Roth. These songs are infectious and the Jimi Hendrix comparisons are endless, especially the sound of the thunder-heavy riffs and grooves on Uli's "Polar Nights" guitar solo that make it a classic.
“Virgin Killer” should have made the band superstars, but since metal was still very much an underground movement, the Scorpions would have to wait until the 1980's when the band cranked out their first hits. The metal is so clear cut and state-of-the-art on this historic recording and distinctly draws the line of what was classic hard rock and true heavy metal.
“Virgin Killer” is simply essential listening; a landmark album for the genre's development that made Uli Jon Roth a guitar legend.

The stunning cover artwork was created by another of the bands long term collaborators - graphic designer Thomas Ewerhard (Edguy, Avantasia, Jorn).
Elliott says there are 15 songs "on the go" for the set, which he considers "remarkably strong" and predicts will sound both familiar and fresh when it's finally out. "It's very varied," Elliott says. "It sounds like Def Leppard, but it sounds like Def Leppard stretching their wings a little bit. There are a couple of songs tied to our DNA, instantly recognizable as us, and some of the stuff that's not so much like that and represents who we are now, a band that's in their early- to mid-50s, the kind of music they should be making without it sounding old and farty. We're not trying to write 24-hour party songs at our age; that would be silly. "The good thing," he adds, "is we're not tied down. Like, when you say AC/DC, you kinda know what you're gonna get. We're more in the Queen ballpark where you can have a slow thing and you can have a full-on rock song on the same record and they go side-by-side. That's where we're coming from on a lot of this stuff."
Elliott says the group thought about getting the album out during the spring, but it's likely to be later because of what he calls "an unprecedented amount of offers from various different people to release this record, which we weren't expecting and has changed the whole dynamic of how we want to put this record out." Elliott says Def Leppard is still "wedding through" the offers but is confidently the album will be out "absolutely this year."
"The important thing is we make a good record," he says. "I don't think people are queuing around the block to buy a Def Leppard release right now; if they're doing it for anybody at all it'd be Taylor Swift and Katy Perry. But for us it's really important that we keep the high quality we've always tried to deliver and we don't let ourselves down. We're never gonna be the kind of band that goes, 'Well, it doesn't matter, nobody buys records anymore so let's jsut piss one out in a month.' That's not our style. It never will be."
The new album from Norwegian Melodic Metal-act NERGARD is in the final mixing stages. The hightly anticipated follow up to 2013's critical acclaimed "Memorial for a Wish" will see its release in April. About MICHAEL DES BARRES: The Hove, Sussex-born MICHAEL DES BARRES’ first foray into film was in 1967 being cast alongside Sidney Poitier for the film To Sir With Lovein which he played an East End pupil who always wore dark sunglasses. After further acting success was found in The Dirtiest Show In Town, DES BARRES officially abandoned acting in 1972 and fulfilled a long-held dream to form Silverhead. In 1974DES BARRES disbanded the group after two well-received albums and subsequent tours of the USA, Europe and Japan and moved to Los Angeles (with 200 dollars and a hairdryer) where he was met at the airport by a girl who would turn out to be the future Pamela Des Barres. Pamela was dating Jimmy Page at the time but the two soon fell in love and DES BARRES managed to remain friends with Page who subsequently signed MICHAEL’s new band Detective to Led Zeppelin’s Swan Song label. By the time 1978 came along, MICHAEL had radically altered his view on rock music after witnessing an extraordinary Sex Pistols’ gig in San Francisco and split Detective up to later sign a solo deal with Dreamland Records in 1980. In 1982, DES BARRES fronted Chequered Past which featured Steve Jones (Sex Pistols), Clem Burke and Nigel Harrison (Blondie) and Tony Sales (David Bowie’s Tin Machine) who released their self-titled album on EMI Records in 1984. DES BARRES co-wrote and recorded “Obsession”in 1983 which was covered by Animotion two years later, becoming a multi-million- selling worldwide hit. He also replacedRobert PalmerinDuran Duranspinoffband, Power Station who performed at 1985’s Live Aid. The late 80’s saw DES BARRES head back into acting with roles starring opposite Clint Eastwood in Pink Cadillac and he continued to take lead film roles in Midnight Cabaret, Under Siege, Poison Ivy, The New Seduction and Sugar Town along with playing the master assassin and master of disguise Murdoc in TV series “MacGyver.”DES BARRES’ more recent forays into the public arena have seen him return to his true love—rock music—and included stints with The Usual Suspects (featuring Steve Jones and Mick Rossi), Down Boy (featuring Paul McCartney’s guitarist Brian Ray) and a ten-piece soul band called Michael Des Barres and Free Love Foundation. In 2012, DES BARRESself-released two albums: a studio record called Carnaby Street and a live album called Hot n Sticky Live, recorded at Los Angeles’Viper Room.
