You can't design rock´n`roll at the drawing board. You have to feel it from within, be really passionate if you want to play this music authentically and convincingly. Flo The Fly, guitarist with Berlin rock group Travelin Jack, refers to this phenomenon as self-entertainment, putting his band's philosophy in a nutshell. He and his three comrades-in-arms, vocalist Alia Spaceface, bassist Steve Burner and drummer Montgomery Shell, are prototypes of passionate rock musicians who won't be deterred from following their chosen path. We don't care what other people think about us, whether we rub them the wrong way or polarise, says Flo. We do what we believe in and what we enjoy most. This enthusiasm and their uncompromising attitude is the seed that has borne fruit on their upcoming new album Commencing Countdown. From 8 September 2017, Travelin' Jack's latest offering will be released on Steamhammer/SPV as CD Digipak, Vinyl LP, download and stream. Mark the day in your calendar, because that's when the annals of rock music will be enhanced by another colourful chapter.
 
Founded in summer 2013, Travelin Jack have developed into one of Germany's most unusual rock acts over the past four years, establishing their inimitable style, which is tailored to the vocals of Alia Spaceface, with two successful tours and shows at important festivals beyond the German borders. The general flair of Commencing Countdown may bring to mind great rock groups from the seventies, such as Thin Lizzy, Rush, Scorpions and Deep Purple, but the Berlin band's compositions and the warm, analogue production of their new album are both contemporary and modern. Flo: There's nothing retro about our material, we simply prefer the sound of the era when this music was really wicked.
 
This motto is emphasised by the visual trademarks of their explosive live show – the make-up, the platformm shoes and the glitter outfits which Travelin Jack are set to don when they present their album Commencing Countdown live on stage soon. As the legendary David Bowie would probably have commented: I don`t know where I`m going from here, but I promise it won`t be boring!

'Everybody's Talkin' About THE DIVES Featuring Paul Stanley's Son

With the four members of THE DIVES hailing from both sides of the country and the middle, it might seem unlikely that these musicians would ever even meet, let alone form a band – until you hear them play.  After one listen, it’s nearly impossible to imagine them playing with anyone else.  Featuring tight harmonies and infectious hooks, THE DIVES’ music sounds fresh and familiar at the same time.  When explaining how the band was formed, they all vehemently agree that they got together with the common goal of making the kind of music they wish they heard more.

Based in NYC and a brand new band by any standards, THE DIVES wasted no time writing original material, rehearsing and leaping onto the club circuit.  When asked to describe their sound, Evan Stanley, lead guitarist and vocalist, immediately answered, “We’re a Rock & Roll band.”  Sergio Ortega, bass and vocals, explains, “It’s a rock band playing catchy songs.  Big hooks, but rattier than Top 40.”  THE DIVES musical influences are similar enough to create a cohesive sound with memorable hooks, yet diverse enough to infuse their music with the excitement of very modern flavours.  
 
The band is comprised of guitarist and lead singer Evan Stanley, guitarist and lead singer Mike Lefton, bassist and singer Sergio Ortega and drummer and singer Jimmy Meier.  Developing a passionate interest in music as children, all four have been mastering their instruments from an early age.  When Stanley moved to NYC to attend college at NYU / Tisch’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, he was determined to start a band.  After a little trial and error, he was introduced to New Jersey native, Mike Lefton.  A brotherhood was formed instantly as the two found musical commonalities beginning with their influences and energetic work ethic.  And the beginnings of a band was formed.  Mike reached out to fellow New Jersey native, Jimmy Meier to give the band a beat.  With a gig booked, they scrambled to find a bass player.  A friend recommended an unlikely fit, Sergio Ortega.  Unlikely because Ortega is also an incredibly talented musician better known for guitar, banjo and mandolin and has toured the world as guitarist and musical director for Broadway phenomenon, Ramin Karimloo.  The group asked Sergio to sit in for that show and never let him leave.  It’s the kind of band fans dream about – THE DIVES don’t just spend time together for rehearsals and performances, they are brothers brought together by a common goal, shared passions and a twisted sense of humour.
 
Unfortunately, musical assumptions arise when people make the connection between Evan and KISS frontman, Paul Stanley.  Yes, Evan is the son of the rock legend but he makes it clear that THE DIVES are forging their own musical path, “You won’t hear anything that sounds like KISS at The Dives’ show.”
 
2017is already a very exciting year for THE DIVES.  With the release of their debut EP, Everybody’s Talkin’, a UK tour that afforded them the opportunity to play to audiences numbering in the tens of thousands, the band is performing throughout the summer and heading out for a national tour in August.  Be sure to follow them on all social platforms for daily updates and be sure to catch a show near you!

NEAL SCHON Looks Beyond Drama; Talking With JOHN WAITE For Blues Project

Journey guitarist NEAL SCHON has reached out to former BAD ENGLISH band mate, vocalist JOHN WAITE about doing a "rough, vicious" blues project. Neal spoke exclusively to MelodicRock.com of news that producer Kevin Shirley had the idea for the project, to use "a lot of great singers", but having recently heard a new live video of Waite, was so impressed with how good he sounded, "insanely good", so reached out and the pair are talking.
 
As for a rhythm section, Neal says: "I haven't talked about who for drums or bass, but I believe Deen Castronovo would be great."
 
Yes he would!
 
So what of this week's drama surrounding JOURNEY? All good says Neal: "I'm having fun playing as always for my fans. Journey will tour for the next 2 months then we will have time to think away from each other."
 
Neal continues: "I'm working and pretty much finished with my new solo album 'Universe' featuring Narada Michael Walden. We will definitely play some gigs after the record release in the top of 2018. We are pretty much done now. It's all promising, but I'm not done with Journey. We, or I, have much more inside me to come out. I will follow my heart."
 
So there you are folks, a really interesting musical time ahead for Neal and a lot to look forward to in 2018.

Is NEAL SCHON'S JRNY Something To Watch For

It seems something has broken the camel's back in the Journey camp, with Neal Schon filling social media today with cryptic talk of inner turmoil in the world of Journey.
 
Although officially the word is "No", something is definitely transpiring between founding member Neal Schon and long time keyboardist Jonathan Cain.
 
It appears that Jonathan's marriage to high profile Pastor Paula White in 2015 is the catalyst. It is the third marriage for both.
At the time Cain said: “She gave me the news that God loved me and wanted his son back. She spoke to the king in me and gave me new hope I could get right with God. The God I had hungered for, the Father I had been missing.”
 
White remains the personal minister to President Trump and chairs his Evangelical Advisory Board. She became the first woman ever to pray the invocation at a presidential inauguration on Jan. 20.
 
Of his recent Christian solo album Cain stated: “This is my love letter to God. It’s my thanks for the grace He gives me.”
 
Shortly after marrying, Cain was caught up in a controversy when addressing a congregation both were preaching to, when he suggested methods for wives to get to know what their husband’s like, saying: “figure it out. Now Neal has taken to Instagram and Twitter – under the recent new handle “Neal Schon’s JRNY” to post the following:
 
“Bringing it every night. I want to be elevated by whom I play with not feel like I've got cement shoes. If anyone is unhappy they are Not running My band then They should Leave. God has bigger plans.”
 
“Yes I've stated how I felt about mixing Religion and Politics and how our music is not of 1 religion - democratic or republican. This is and has been an issue with myself Mr Cain and his now wife since he married. I've had to fight this whole time to protect the Brand I built with Steve Perry way before Gregg and I picked Cain to replace himself when he wanted to retire from the road back then. Well frankly I'm tired of having to defend all by my self. Ross is no help. I continue to grow and be completely creative and want to take the band Neal Schon's JRNY on an exciting new trip musically. Yes we will always have all hits to play But there must be musical growth also. I also need to surround myself with people that care as I do. I'll never stop.”
 
“I've finally gotten to the point of Enough. Im a very patient person - so I've been told by many including Carlos Santana and he's said wow - How and Why do you do it ? I did it out of love but not receiving any back. They don't give a shit so now I don't either. Your skin becomes tough but it has to to endure ... bottom line I'll always be JRNY as it's been my baby from birth. Herbie and Steve Perry will tell you the same as he did at RRHOF  thank you Steve for the truth.”
 
“No worries. I will not cave about my beliefs or protecting Journey as I always have. I believe in God.”
 
Now a news item about the Woody Guthrie Center honouring Neal has been removed from all Google references and the originating news site, with Neal claiming jealousy and sabotage are at play. "Wow this national story has already been removed from google and channel 6 site here in Tulsa Oklahoma. This is totally criminal sabotage but it will not stop the actual ceremony tomorrow..."

June 1, 2017 -- When a new band gets nothing but glowing live reviews right out of the gate for their first two albums, they must be doing something right.
 
THE WINERY DOGS--Richie Kotzen (vocals, guitar), Billy Sheehan (bass), Mike Portnoy (drums)—have been mesmerizing live audiences at over 200 shows with their monstrous musicianship since they exploded onto the scene in 2013 with the release of their self-titled debut album. 
 
Now it’s time to show fans, old and new, what people have been saying about THE WINERY DOGS since their first worldwide tour launched in 2013. DOG YEARS: LIVE IN SANTIAGO & BEYOND 2013-2016, which will be available in both standard and deluxe editions, is a collection of live concert footage, music videos, and an EP of previously unreleased studio tracks, is due out August 4 on Loud & Proud Records. A standard two-disc edition of DOG YEARS: LIVE IN SANTIAGO & BEYOND 2013-2016 will be available which includes one Blu-Ray disc of the 100-minute concert, eight music videos from the band’s two albums, and the DOG YEARS EP on CD. A special edition five-disc package will consist of one Blu-Ray disc, one DVD of the live concert material and the eight music videos, the DOG YEARS EP on CD, as well as two CDs of the live concert audio.
 
This is not the band’s first foray into the special edition CD/DVD world.  In 2014, THE WINERY DOGS SPECIAL EDITION was released as a two-CD collection. Disc 1 is the standard album and Disc 2 is entitled UNLEASHED IN JAPAN 2013, comprised of 10 songs recorded live in Japan during their July ’13 tour, including “Criminal,” a track previously unavailable in the U.S., along with a 16-page booklet of live photos and lyrics.  UNLEASHED IN JAPAN 2013 is also available as a stand-alone digital album. DOG TREATS: THE WINERY DOGS DELUXE SPECIAL EDITION, a limited edition release, is available in a box resembling a box of dog treats, which includes the SPECIAL EDITION collection of music, a DVD featuring four music videos and interview footage, demos from the original recording sessions, a “studio diary” written by Mike Portnoy, as well as some unique merchandise unavailable elsewhere.
 
THE WINERY DOGS’ debut album was hailed as “...one of the most intriguing releases of the year” by Loudwire.com, and in a recent reader’s poll on Revolver magazine’s website, fans called it their “Album of the Week.” After it was originally released on July 23, 2013 on Loud & Proud Records, it debuted on Billboard’s “Top Alternative Albums” chart at #3, “Top Independent Albums” chart at #4, “Top Rock Albums” chart at #5, “Top Internet Albums” at #8 and “Top 200 Albums” chart at #27. 
 
The band celebrated a continuing HOT STREAK of first week album sales for their follow-up album released October 2, 2015 on Loud & Proud Records via RED (a division of Sony Music Entertainment) and in the rest of the world via earMUSIC. It was preceded by the first single, “Oblivion,” which quickly made its way onto the Top 30 of the Billboard “Mainstream Rock Tracks” chart.  A double vinyl edition of the new album was released November 13, 2015. The trio’s second critically-acclaimed album sold 30% more than their debut, landing them on various Billboard album charts including #2 on “Top Current Alternative Albums,” #5 on “Top Current Hard Music,” #5 on “Top Hard Music Albums,” #6 on “Top Current Rock Albums,” #6 on “Album Core / Genre Rock,” #15 on “Top Current Physical Albums,” #16 on “Top Current Albums,” and #30 on the “Top 200 Albums.”

Frontiers Music Srl is excited to announce the release of CIRCUS MAXIMUS' hotly anticipated live album “Havoc In Oslo”, which will be released on August 4, 2017. It will be available on 2CD/DVD and 2CD/BluRay.
 
On February 6th, 2016, Norwegian prog metallers, Circus Maximus celebrated the release of their fourth studio album, 'Havoc' with a sold out show at the Rockefeller in Oslo, with a stunning live production that involved pyro, sparks (literally), and a massive light rig.
 
The band wanted to make this show one of the most memorable performances in Circus Maximus history and then to share this night with the world. So, it was decided to capture the entire night with multiple high definition cameras for a release on both Blu-Ray and DVD as well as an audio component.
 
Ever since the band released "Live In Japan" via YouTube, they have been eager to make a proper live release in a physical format. “Havoc Live in Oslo” is a powerful statement from a band at the top of their game!

WORLD TRADE To Release Third Album 'Unify' August 4

Composed of some of L.A.'s most recognized studio and songwriting talents, Billy Sherwood, Guy Allison, and Bruce Gowdy, WORLD TRADE will release their third album, “Unify” on August 4, 2017 via Frontiers Music Srl.
 
Lead vocalist and main songwriter, Billy Sherwood has been a fixture of the L.A. studio and recording scene since the mid-80's. Billy's talents range from producing a GRAMMY nominated album for Paul Rodgers to being the current bass player of YES, handpicked by Chris Squire to replace him before his untimely death. He also recently joined up with Asia as a replacement for John Wetton after his passing for the band’s current US tour with Journey.
 
"World Trade was always a very special band, with a unique sound. It's amazing all these years later to be able to make another record and have it feel just as special as the first,” says Sherwood.
 
Guy Allison and Bruce Gowdy, a pair of musicians also known for being behind the awesome melodic rock band Unruly Child Band, and drummer Mark T. Williams (son of famed composer John Williams and brother of Toto singer Joseph) round out the line-up.
 
“World Trade was always one of my favorite bands that I had the pleasure to be involved in. We are a real bunch of creative souls. Our debut record had such a great vibe and our new CD ‘Unity’ does as well! To our fans, we hope we can come out and play for you soon,” says Bruce Gowdy.
 
"If I had heard World Trade back when I was an impressionable young man (one who fell in love with the band U.K. on the very first listen), they would have made a lifelong impression on me. The Nights is a dynamic Finnish duo formed by two well known members of the melodic rock scene in Finland. Ilkka Wirtanen handles guitars, production, and songwriting and Sami Hyde is on vocals and handles songwriting duties too. Both Sami and Ilkka have established careers in music in both Finland and abroad. Sami has been a singer for a variety of acts and projects, including the Tony Mills Band (SHY, TNT) which also included Geoff Nicholls (Black Sabbath) on keyboards and Neil Hibbs (SHY) on guitar. Additionally, he has written songs for many artists, including The Magnificent ("If It Takes All Night", "Lost", and "Drive"). Ilkka Wirtanen is best known for his work as a producer with international acts like glam rockers Reckless Love, for whom he has produced four albums and co-written many of their more well-known songs, including "Hot" and "Night On Fire". He has sat in the producer’s chair for several other rock bands (Baton Rogue Morgue, Hellcity Punks) and has worked as a mixer for international acts (S.E.X. Department).
 
The band also recently appeared at two exclusive shows supporting Brother Firetribe last April to rave reviews:

CREYE Find Home For Debut AOR Album

Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce the signing of one of the most exciting AOR newcomers to the scene, CREYE! Hailing from Sweden (of course!), Creye was founded by Grand Slam guitarist Andreas Gullstrand. The band recently released a debut EP which shows enormous potential and immediately sparked interest from Frontiers. With soaring vocals and harmonies and melodies that seem to have been taken straight from the 80’s masterpieces of AOR music, Creye are here to stay and the multi-album deal signed with leading Italian rock label Frontiers Music Srl will help them pursue the goals they are determined and very serious to achieve for their career.
“We were very picky when it came to choosing a suitable label for us,” says Andreas. “The options were many, but at the end of the day we were looking for a label with muscles big enough to help us get to the next level. When the question arose from Frontiers, it immediately felt like this was exactly the kind of label that we were searching for!”
CREYE debuted in late 2016 with the single "Never Too Late," which caused some stir in the AOR scene with outstanding reviews and immediate talk of the “next big thing” to come out of Sweden. Andreas worked hard to recruit a strong line-up of full-time members as well as continuing to put together new material. In March 2017, the 3 song EP, "Straight To The Top" was released by the band, showing off a much more mature and evolved sound. And finally, in May 2017 vocalist Robin Jidhed (son of ALIEN singer, Jim) joined the band and thereby added the final piece to the puzzle.
This is just the beginning and you can be sure that CREYE will definitely live up to the initial hype!
