HARDLINE MEDIA proudly presents GRAHAM BONNET with ALCATRAZZ! Playing RAINBOW’s album ‘DOWN TO EARTH’ in full, plus hits from ALCATRAZZ, MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP and more!!!

The James Dean of Heavy Metal is set to grace our shores in June 2019, nonetheless with ALCATRAZZ in tow! Renowned for his suave stage presence heading up the likes of RAINBOW, ALCATRAZZ, MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP, IMPELLITTERI and his solo band GRAHAM BONNET BAND - not to mention his powerful, distinct and iconic vocal sound, that goes straight to 11 then swiftly into smooth melody in a heartbeat - GRAHAM BONNET delivers a solid stage trip through his career, that will not disappoint the discerning fan.

With a career spanning a range of musical styles, and hit songs, it only makes sense to start with a mention to his first hit with the duo, THE MARBLES in 1968, with the single "Only One Woman". The hit song, written by Barry Gibb, Robin Gibb and Maurice Gibb of the Bee Gees, marks the impressive start to an awesome and diverse career.

Embarking on the first leg of his solo career, Bonnet smashed the charts with a self-titled album that hit gold in Australia. The album was met with great praise with hits including "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue", a Bob Dylan cover, which charted in the top five in Australia in 1977. Further to the success of this release, the single "Warm Ride", Bonnet’s take on a leftover track from the Saturday Night Fever sessions and written by the Bee Gees, went to number one in Australia.

Bonnet found his career taking a heavier Rock and Metal route when Ritchie Blackmore chose him to replace Ronnie James Dio on vocals for the band RAINBOW. A hard act to follow, and a new genre to ignite, Bonnet proved his skill yet again, singing on RAINBOW’s iconic album ‘Down to Earth’, which became his most successful release to date with two hit singles "Since You’ve Been Gone" and "All Night Long”.

After Rainbow, Bonnet joined the MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP, and recorded the ‘Assault Attack’ album, considered one of their best releases of all time.
Departing yet again from the beaten path, Bonnet co-founded ALCATRAZZ, with Gary Shea on bass, Jimmy Waldo on keyboards (both from the band New England), Jan Uvena (former drummer for Alice Cooper), and legendary, Swedish guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen. From 1983-87, the band released 3 highly revered studio albums (No Parole from Rock N' Roll’, ‘Disturbing the Peace’, and Dangerous Games’) and one live album Live Sentence’.
In more recent years, Bonnet has toured consistently around the world with his GRAHAM BONNET BAND, to throngs of fans.

Now, for the first time in Australia, you will hear Graham and band perform the iconic RAINBOW album ‘DOWN TO EARTH’ in its entirety, as well as a slew of other hits from the melting pot of his career.

GRAHAM BONNET BAND ANNOUNCES LIVE ALBUM & HOME VIDEO, "LIVE...HERE COMES THE NIGHT" AVAILABLE ON CD/DVD & BLU-RAY ON JULY 7TH ON FRONTIERS MUSIC SRL.

Legendary rock vocalist Graham Bonnet is back with a new live album and home video captured during his acclaimed performance at Frontiers Rock Festival III in Trezzo (Milan, Italy) on April 24, 2016.

Accompanied by a stellar band featuring founding member Beth-Ami Heavenstone on bass, South American guitar sensation Conrado Pesinato on lead guitar, and Mark Zonder (known for his work with Warlord and Fates Warning) on drums, Bonnet masterfully delivered a thrilling “Best of” set which included songs from his stints with bands such as Rainbow, McAuley Schenker Group, Alcatrazz, Impellitteri, and of course his solo material too.

Bonnet says: "It's been a very long time since I last released a live video, 33 years to be exact, with Alcatrazz. Myself and the band were very excited to film and record our performance at the Frontiers Rock Festival for a live album and video and are very happy with the final result!”

Bonnet has a powerful and distinctive vocal style and, indeed, a distinctive image – preferring to let the music, rather than the conventional heavy metal look, do the talking.

The Graham Bonnet Band has spent the last two years touring regularly around the world and this past winter, released his latest successful release, “The Book.” With the band and Bonnet fine tuned from all their touring when they got to Frontiers Rock Festival, this stellar set that was captured there makes for a new live album that will blow GBB (and heavy rock fans in general) away!

RAINBOW/ALCATRAZZ singer Graham Bonnet guests on Ep. 270 of One On One With Mitch Lafon.

In the show's only interview, singer GRAHAM BONNET discusses his new album The Book, RAINBOW, Michael Schenker, Alcatrazz, Blackthorne, The Marbles, the song Since You Been Gone and a lot more.

QUOTES from the interview:

The sound of the new album (Time 2.37): "I stuck pretty much to the direction that I took with the second album of Alcatrazz with Steve Vai. I tried to think in that kind of mode."

(time 2.56): "I was very weary of that people that do actually listen to what I've done so I have to please the people that are listening."

Why make new music? (time 3.25): "I got so fed up with going out and just doing like karaoke. I know everybody knows the songs, but it was getting a bit stale. Why not have a new band and start recording again with new songs?"

Is there a frustration at having to do some of the older material? (Time 6.16): "Oh, God yeah. You get bored with anything eventually. You lose the enthusiasm for a song. When you first record something - you want to make it special and do the best you can. The enthusiasm sort of leaves you after thirty years of singing the same bloody songs. But I see that people still enjoy those songs still and their kids... So, I have to incorporate the old stuff with the brand new stuff."

Michael Schenker Fest was it cathartic? (time 7.44): "It was a great relief getting through the first rehearsal because I thought that after all the bullshit that went down way back then when I destroyed myself onstage, started acting like a complete idiot and was fired from the band quite rightly so... To actually look at Michael and go, 'I'm actually singing this song all the way through with you.' I saw the broad smile on his face. It was like yesterday but without all the arguments."

(time 9.08): "I wouldn't mind doing an album (with Michael Schenker) - that would be great."

The Russ Ballard song 'Since You Been Gone' - has really become your song (time 14.49): "This was a really radio friendly song and we heard a version of it by a girl band called Clout. I heard it and thought, 'No, really?' It was the last thing we did... It broke the band. It made everybody listen. Now, that's become a Rainbow song. It's very recognizable. It's a great pop song that we did our own spin on."

What were his expectations coming into Rainbow (time 17.26): "I didn't know who Rainbow was. They were never on the radio like Deep Purple, so I had to go out and buy Rainbow albums."

Bonnet also tells the tale of when he got fired from The Michael Schenker Group after one show for exposing his penis on stage, in Sheffield U.K. in 1982, “my penis came out of my pants, I encouraged it, it was bit like getting a turtle out of a shell  and I swung it.”
The lineup and camera crew includes Graham Bonnet,  guitarist extraordinaire Conrado Pesinato, bassist Beth-Ami Heavenstone and former FATES WARNING, WARLORD drummer Mark Zonder, and Manager Giles Lavery

GRAHAM BONNET BAND
's new album, which will be made available later in the year via Frontiers Music Srl, will also include a bonus disc of brand new recordings of classic songs from the Graham Bonnet repertoire.

WISHING WELL featuring GRAHAM BONNET On Debut Single 'Hippie Heart Gypsy Soul'

Artist:

Wishing Well are a hard rock band hailing from Helsinki Finland. 'Hippie Heart Gypsy Soul' is the first single taken from the 'Chasing Rainbows' debut album to be released on 5th of February via Inverse Records. For the single the band joined forces with legendary hard rock vocalist Graham Bonnet (Rainbow, Michael Schenker Group, Alcatrazz) and came up with a catchy and melodic hard rock song.

'We wanted something extra to boost the album and when we wrote 'Hippie' we instantly realized that Graham would be a perfect vocalist for the song in many ways. I'm a lifelong fan of Graham myself and it's fantastic that we made it at the end of the day. Pete (vocalist Peter James Goodman) had no problem with it since he's a big fan too! I'm proud and pleased with the result and it's just amazing that at 68 he's still delivering the goods' says Anssi Korkiakoski, the song writer and guitar player of Wishing Well.

Graham Bonnet will be very busy this year since he's releasing a new album on Frontier Records and an authorized biography later on this spring, written by Steve Wright. He'll also play live in Finland in April after his Australian tour. 'The guys got in touch and after I heard the song I was immediately ready to give it a go. It's a catchy tune and perfect for my range. I like the lyrics too. We recorded my vocals in LA and the guys took care of the rest of it in Finland. I'm always ready to cooperate if it's a serious band with a good song. I wish the guys all the best.'

The band is now promoting the single and CD with plans to play live as much as they can later on this year. The band consists of Anssi Korkiakoski (guitars), Rip Radioactive (drums), Richard Becker (bass) and Peter James Goodman (vocals), all experienced musicians who have cut their teeth in many other bands before Wishing Well.

GRAHAM BONNET Australian & NZ Tour Announced For April 2016

Artist:
Release Year:
2015
Categories:
Tour News

The most powerful voice in rock is coming to Australia and New Zealand next April. [No, I didn't wrote that folks...]

English vocalist Graham Bonnet is synonymous with classic hard rock and heavy metal.
Best known for fronting Rainbow, Michael Schenker Group and Alcatrazz, Graham’s voice is known and cherished by many.

Having last visited our shores as part of the Countdown Rock N Roll Arena extravaganza he is ready to return with
his all-star band featuring Mark Zonder from the legendary Fates Warning.

Graham scored several top 10 hits in Australia in the 1970's with his solo releases including the Dylan classic
It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue, and Warm Ride which peaked at number 1! He then joined Ritchie Blackmore’s
Rainbow, which was formed by Blackmore after he left Deep Purple. The Rainbow album Down To Earth (1979)
was a top 10 worldwide smash hit with platinum singles Since You Been Gone and All Night Long.

Following Rainbow, Graham released his second solo album featuring the hit single Night Games, and then joined
ex-Scorpion legend Michael Schenker in his band MSG for the album Assault Attack.
In the early to mid 80’s Graham formed his own band, Alcatrazz that featured an unknown Yngwie Malmsteen on
guitar. The band quickly became a supergroup in Japan, and Yngwie soon left only to be replaced by another up
and comer, Steve Vai, which propelled Vai onto David Lee Roth and future legendary status...
Ritchie Blackmore, Michael Schenker, Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai…it seems Graham with his powerhouse vocals is the perfect match for these Guitar Gods!!

Since then Graham has kept busy in many bands, such as Impellitteri, The Party Boys, Anthem, Forcefield with
Cozy Powell, Mick Moody and Don Airey, featured as a guest on countless albums and has also recently completed
a sold out tour with a symphony orchestra throughout Eastern Europe with himself, Dan McCafferty from Nazareth
and John Lawton from Uriah Heep.

He has also just finished a Japanese tour to sell out crowds with his solo band supporting Michael Schenker's
Temple Of Rock, featuring Herman Rarebell and Francis Bucholz from Scorpions and Doogie White. Graham has
gotten up each night to perform songs from the MSG album he recorded Assault Attack.
Do Not Miss This Night Of Hard Rock Glory!

Graham will be playing all his hits from Rainbow, Michael Schenker Group, Alcatrazz and many many more.
A limited amount of VIP meet and greet tickets will be available,
these will include a private acoustic performance, something to truly remember.
