LIVESAY INKS DEAL WITH RFL RECORDS – NEW ALBUM SLATED FOR FALL RELEASE
Livesay, the Melodic, Power Rock band from New York, NY, has signed a worldwide record deal with Pittsburgh based, RFL Records. A longtime staple of the Neo-Classical regime, Livesay are about to unleash a new album to the masses that will embrace the bands past and throttle in a new and exciting future.
Livesay is a prime example of a band that has flown under the proverbial radar and has self-sustained 4 incredible albums – Livesay – S/T (1996), Darkest Hour (2000), Awaken the Giant (2010) and Frozen Hell (2016). Livesay is not a novice to the big stage and has opened for a multitude of hard rocks premier acts such as Ronnie James Dio, Y&T, Dokken, Lynch Mob, Ratt, Thin Lizzy, Vince Neil, Sebastian Bach, Quiet Riot, Michael Schenker, UFO, Fates Warning and many others. In addition to appearing at the Rock N’ Skull Festival 2 years in a row, they have headlined many times as well. With very little major backing, it’s been a willingness and belief that has driven this band. Gregg Livesay had this to say, “It has always been about all of the members of this band, not just me.” “I would have nothing without them and their dedication to delivering a top-notch product to the fans.”
Livesay’s sound is not easily classified; musical diversity is what powers these guys. It can best be described as Neo-Classical, Melodic, Hard Rock meshed with Progressive elements that combined, deliver a sonic, dream symphony. The band draws influences & inspiration from the likes of Yngwie Malmsteen, Classic Deep Purple, Racer X, Early Dream Theater and Early Fates Warning. With a magnitude of melodic, catchy hooks and vocal harmonies to the dark, mystical, heavy, technical progression, there is something for every rock genre to latch onto.
The new album titled “Chronicles” will feature 13 Tracks that bring the history of Livesay full-circle. From the earliest unreleased material, to the best of 1996 – 2016 and culminating with the brand new track and single, “International Man,” this album is certain to draw the attention of hard rock fans no matter what their taste. “Chronicles” drops September 14th on RFL Records.
"We are really thrilled to be announcing our partnership with RFL Records and Jon Marchewka and look forward to a great future together,” says the band.

Frontiers Music Srl is truly thrilled to announce the release of Treat's awesome new album, ”Tunguska”, which will be released on September 14, 2018. Today, the band has premiered a music video for first single, "Build The Love", which you can see here;
Building on the success of their last two albums, ”Coup de Grace” (2010) and ”Ghost of Graceland” (2016), which were both released after the band’s reunion in 2006, Treat's return has been more than welcome by fans and critics alike. With the two latest albums having received praise as true masterpieces, TREAT is releasing their new album, packed with riveting rockers and seductive, soul searching melodic rock songs, on a wave of newfound creativity and high anticipation from their fanbase.
But what is "Tunguska"? “The album title is a reference to a mysterious large explosion that took place in Siberia in 1908, but metaphorically and artistically, "Tunguska" represents the last piece of the puzzle to be put in place since the band’s reunion,” says guitarist, producer and founding member Anders Wikstrom. ”It highlights the unique musicianship we have developed together over the years in the creative songwriting process, but also illustrates how we want our albums to sound and feel in the 21st century. We managed to dig deeper into the lyrical content, and musically, the dynamics in the songs and production are more distinct as we let heavy, raunchy stuff co-exist with the softer side of the band.”
”Tunguska” was once again produced by respected writer/producer, and longtime TREAT fan, Peter Mansson together with Anders Wikström, showcasing a band who, despite a thirty plus year career, are hungrier and more energetic than ever!
TREAT’s current lineup includes Robert Ernlund (vocals), Anders Wikström (guitars, backing vocals), Patrick Appelgren (keyboards, guitar, backing vocals), Jamie Borger (drums), and Pontus Egberg (bass). ”My goal has always been to capture the band in the studio when we can reflect what we are like at a live performance peak. That´s why we did not continue touring for another extended period on the back of the last album ("Ghost of Graceland") and went into the new album writing and recording process instead,” tells Anders. ”When our fans hear ”Tunguska”, this decision will speak for itself. When I listen to it, I get the same feeling I had when we finished ”Organized Crime” back in ´89, when everybody had stepped up to the plate and played as if their lives depended on it. I truly believe this is Treat's finest hour! And that goes for every single member of the band! Damn proud!”
The band is truly at the top of their game and songs like the outstanding lead single “Build The Love,” or rockers like the fabulous album opener “Progenitors,” "Always Have, Always Will”, and “Rose of Jericho” stand out as future live staples in the band’s repertoire. ”Every time we meet up with fans anywhere in the world, they are always full of praise for our current releases, which is really heartwarming as we do feel we don't have to rely on our 35-year back catalogue to attract audiences. We feel we are a better band nowadays, both as songwriters and live performers, matured just like a great red wine! After living with the album for some time, I find myself jumping in and out randomly on my choice for favorite songs and for some reason that has never been the case before. To me that's what a real album is about and what makes it worth working day and night to compete,” concludes Anders Wikstrom.

Frontiers Music Srl had previously announced the formation of a brand new band featuring legends of the hard rock/heavy metal scene, Dream Child and today announces the release of their debut album, "Until Death Do We Meet Again" is scheduled for September 14.
Dream Child features:
Craig Goldy: Guitars (ex-Ronnie James Dio, Giuffria)
Simon Wright: Drums (ex-AC/DC, DIO, Operation: Mindcrime)
Wayne Findlay: Guitars and Keyboards (Michael Schenker)
Diego Valdez: Vocals (Helker)
Of “You Can’t Take Me Down” Craig Goldy states: “It’s about when all the people, circumstances, obstacles and so forth that life can throw at us take a turn for the worst and that no matter what, we can and will prevail!”
Craig Goldy says, "The band Dream Child was conceived during a brainstorming session with Serafino (President of Frontiers) one day while discussing other matters over the phone. I mentioned that I had been listening to my favorite bands a lot recently, Deep Purple and Rainbow's “Rising" album, among others in that style and had noticed that many people who also love those bands often have the very same comments as one another: "They don't make music like that anymore!" Even though I said that in passing, Serafino asked me a question that would forever shape my future. He simply asked, "Well, can you?" and I said.....”YES!!!"
During the very first public memorial for our most beloved Ronnie James Dio, I had mentioned that whenever I do start writing original material again that I would utilize everything that I had learned from working side by side with the Master for so many years in such a way that I would hope to make him proud....and here it is! The name is inspired by one of his lyrics on the "Dream Evil" album and the nickname he gave me at the time, Dream Child!
We are so very fortunate to have bassist Rudy Sarzo as a featured guest, Simon Wright on drums, Wayne Findlay on guitars and keyboards, and a surprise vocal discovery from Argentina, Diego Valdez, whose voice will send shivers up your spine!!
This album will bring back memories of the days most people have thought were long gone and never to return, yet it is also new and fresh enough to be unique with some unexpected twists and turns!! No more "same old, same old" here, no fillers. Every song is an oasis in the desert and a rare gem in the coal mines of life in this new world that thinks the past greatness of rock would remain in the past. We've brought it back to life once again!!
I am very proud of this album and all who have made this become a reality. There are some big names who've lent a hand in the writing and I am amazed at the new and aggressive sound that producer Alessandro Del Vecchio has brought to these songs!!! I hope you all agree...."

Needless to say, I’m very excited.”
Next, SING FOR THE DAY!, TOMMY SHAW’s solo 2016 concert performance with the Contemporary Youth Orchestra will be released on Blu-ray, CD, and Digital Audio / Video on June 29 via Eagle Rock Entertainment. Pre-orders are now available on Eagle Rock’s website.
Filmed before an enthusiastic audience at the intimate Waetjen Auditorium in Cleveland, SING FOR THE DAY! presented unique versions of such classics as “Blue Collar Man,” “Girls With Guns,” and “Too Much Time On My Hands.” Under the direction of principal conductor / founder Liza Grossman, with accompaniment by guitarist/musical director Will Evankovich, the Cleveland-based Contemporary Youth Orchestra blended seamlessly with Shaw to create a one-of-a-kind experience. The songs of STYX / TOMMY SHAW / Damn Yankees are infused with the energy of the finest high-school-aged musicians in Ohio, as evidenced by such performances as the epic duel between SHAW’s guitar licks and a prodigious young violinist / CYO alum Lavinia Pavlish on “Renegade.”
Additionally, the set includes a special version of the STYX classic “Crystal Ball” featuring the debut of a lost verse that was never recorded.
As TOMMY SHAW says, “SING FOR THE DAY!, a retrospective look at some of my favorite songs I’ve written and co-written, performed with Contemporary Youth Orchestra, now remixed in glorious 5.1, takes them all to a higher place I’d never imagined."
This show also marked the 10-year anniversary of STYX’s original 2006 performance with the Contemporary Youth Orchestra -- One With Everything (previously released via Eagle Rock Entertainment on multiple formats).
It was truly a night to remember, as SHAW notes: "It was so much bigger and more everlasting than any of us imagined it would be."
In addition to the full 13-song set, the SING FOR THE DAY! Blu-ray includes 96K stereo audio of four songs with TOMMY SHAW and the Contemporary Youth Orchestra not included in the program -- “Down That Highway,” “The Great Divide,” “I’ll Be Coming Home,” and “The Night Goes On” -- soundtracking a slideshow of photos from the show, rehearsals, and behind-the-scenes.

Today, the first single and video for the song “Grazed By Heaven” has been released. It is available on all streaming services as well as an instant download with digital pre-orders. The lyrics for “Grazed By Heaven” were written by Jeff Scott Soto and the music was written by bassist Dave Rimmer.
“The song is clearly about sexual tension and desire, very much in the form of 'Fifty Shades Of Grey', putting oneself at ease with the person who is taking control of the situation and trusting you will be in absolute bliss. Fantasy and lust is the calling card here, it’s quite black & white really. The song is very sexy so naturally called for a sexy lyric,” says Jeff Scott Soto of “Grazed By Heaven”.
Dave Rimmer adds: 'Grazed' was born out of my desire to write a blazing Heep rock track. I put together the music and arrangement but needed a very strong melody line/lyric to match the music and the riff..... I have been a fan of Jeff Scott Soto's voice and writing for many years, so asked Jeff about a collaboration, he loved the song and came up with the perfect, & powerful lyric/melody..a very natural seamless collaboration between Jeff and I. A true 'Living The Dream' Moment for me.”
For this album the band teamed up with famed Canadian engineer Jay Ruston.
“Working with Jay was amazing! He totally understood what we were going for on this album and he delivered big time. We wanted a Heep album that the band and the fans would be proud of, and with Jay at the helm, we have delivered that,” says Mick Box.
When asked what people can expect from the new album Mick Box says “There are rock songs, rock ballads, and a couple of prog songs encompassing everything Heep.”
Vocalist Bernie Shaw adds that fans should also be ready for, “A full blown ‘rockin’ Uriah Heep record. All the traits that made Heep famous in the past are here on this new album. Passion, power, harmony and substance. Heep trade marks from the first riff."
The band is beyond excited with the material written for the new album, which will include some epic additions to the band’s huge catalog of rock staples and looks forward to sharing it with their fans around the world.
The band has announced a full World Tour which will last through the first quarter of 2019. "The mighty Heep are proudly able to tour in over 61 countries and we look forward to a packed touring schedule in 2018 and 2019. MelodicRock Records is truly excited to bring a brand new, exciting melodic rock band to light. One that characterises everything many of us love about the 80s and about driving, melodic rock n roll.
NITRATE is that band. And the debut album is out July 20 and can be pre-ordered now. Pre-orders will get the lead track and one additional song via email shortly.
Pre-order NITRATE 'Real World'(Out July 20)($15 + $5 worldwide shipping)
British rockers NITRATE may be a new name, but you’ll recognise some of the faces.
NITRATE is:
Nick Hogg - Guitars & Keyboards
Rob Wylde - Lead, Rhythm, Bass Guitar & Backing Vocals (Midnite City, Tigertailz)
Joss Mennen - Lead & Backing Vocals(Zinatra/Mennen)
Pete Newdeck - Drums & Backing Vocals (Midnite City, Eden’s Curse, Blood Red Saints, Newman)
Inspired by the late 80’s rock scene with bands such as, Def Leppard, Europe, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi and GNR, Nitrate is the brainchild of Nick Hogg (guitars/keyboards) who after playing in a few bands in the early 2000’s decided after a long absence from the music scene to get back into song writing again. Needing help, Nick enlisted songwriter/musician Rob Wylde (Midnite City/Tigertailz/Teenage Casket Company) who was back living in Nottingham from the US and had the same musical influences. Rob was able to structure/produce the songs, sing on the demo’s whilst playing drums, bass and guitar. Whilst Nick also played guitar and keyboards.
A year on and with over an albums worth of material, a record contract was signed with MelodicRock Records. With Rob Wylde about to launch Midnite City, the hunt went on for a suitable vocalist to allow Rob the opportunity to focus on launching his new band. Andrew McNeice suggested a few vocalists and was keen to use an authentic 80’s singer, so Nick took the opportunity to contact Joss Mennen (Zinatra/Mennen) and asked if he would be interested in singing lead vocals on the album. (Zinatra’s ‘Great Escape’ being one of Nick’s favourite albums).
To complete the line-up, taking over mixing/drums and adding backing vocals to the album is Pete Newdeck (Midnite City, Eden’s Curse, Blood Red Saints, Newman).
After being mixed by Newdeck, the songs were sent to Harry Hess (Harem Scarem) who mastered them at his studio in Canada.
Nitrate isn’t a one-off project, Album 2 is already written with the same Hogg/Wylde writing partnership and will be coming your way in 2019.
And of course, for such a kick-ass album, we needed kick-ass artwork and Nello Del'Omo delivered big time!

Yes, Mr Sue everybody, who once tried to have the hit TV show Survivor renamed, is at it again.
Not content with suing former band mates Jim Peterik and Jimi Jamison, this time FRANKIE SULLIVAN is going after DAVE BICKLER. For using a Survivor graphic in his advertising. The same issue that's been behind most of Frankie's lawsuits. Give me a break.
Here's the article from TMZ:
Survivor founder Frank Sullivan is pissed one of his ex-bandmates is using the band's name and logo to promote his solo career ... even though he left the group THIRTY. FOUR. YEARS. AGO.
Sullivan -- who started the band in '77 and exploded to fame with "Eye of the Tiger" -- is suing Dave Bickler, claiming the OG member agreed to leave the band in '84 and signed a contract giving up his right to use the band logo.
In docs, obtained by TMZ, Sullivan says Bickler to this day continues to promote his solo career by using the band's logo, which Sullivan says is plastered all over Bickler's website "implying current affiliation" with the band.
Sullivan also claims Bickler slaps the logo on promotional flyers. Even his Instagram handle makes a reference to Survivor. Sullivan's suing to get Bickler to drop the act and for damages.
We reached out to Bickler ... his attorney tells us this suit "is frivolous and simply a mean-spirited attempt to harass Dave for the success he is enjoying on his own." We're told Bickler has no need to imply he's still with Survivor, but sometimes the band shows photos of him in their promos ... "which would seem to undermine the premise of their lawsuit."
Bickler was the lead singer for "Eye of the Tiger" ... and his lawyer says this suit can't change that.
MRF5 is done and dusted, but once again I had the entire event filmed “official bootleg” style.
The footage is currently being put together and edited, as there are 4-6 camera angles to work out.
Select performances from the event will be available on MR-USB4, a strictly limited edition release of just 100 units.
Date of availability is still TBD, but will be this side of Christmas!
Below is the link to pre-order. Presales were offered to past participants and MRF VIPs, so there is less than half the allocation still left. It will sell out, just as the other USB drives have.

ANN WILSON of HEART, one of rock’s most distinctive and powerful vocalists, will release her new solo album September 14 on BMG, marking her debut for the label. Fittingly titled IMMORTAL, the album features 10 musically diverse tracks that pay homage to some of the singer’s favorite songs and artists, all of whom have passed away in recent years and whose music poignantly lives on (the full track listing is below).
For the new release, ANN has teamed with original Heart producer Mike Flicker (Dreamboat Annie, Magazine, Little Queen, Dog and Butterfly and Bebe Le Strange, among others). Look for the iconic Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee to perform some of the album’s songs when she tours North America this summer with Jeff Beckand Paul Rodgers for the “Stars Align Tour” (see below for full upcoming tour itinerary). The songs will also be featured in ANN‘s first-ever solo television special (details TBA), taped this past April at the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles, IL, to coincide with the album’s release.
ANN chose the album title IMMORTAL after revealing some working titles early on in the project. “The original working titles evolved as the concept for the album evolved; a little bit at a time,” explains ANN. “As my understanding of what I had undertaken grew and clarified, I realized a larger truth; that the souls may have departed but the songs will forever be their resonances. These are the poets of our time and their expressions must be handed down. Poetry is lasting and elemental like carvings in rock.“
The finely etched tracks that comprise IMMORTAL cover a lot of musical ground, with many highlights including songs by Leonard Cohen (“A Thousand Kisses Deep”), Amy Winehouse (“Back to Black”), David Bowie (“I’m Afraid of Americans”), Lesley Gore (“You Don’t Own Me”) and Tom Petty (“Luna”). ANN says the criteria for choosing this collection of songs was easy. “First of all, I had to LOVE them! They had to be songs I could get inside of authentically as a singer. Lyrics are important to me but the most important thing is always the marriage of words and melody that makes the song magic!”
With sexism at the forefront of the national conversation, ANN says this did factor into the inclusion of “You Don’t Own Me.” “‘You Don’t Own Me’ was originally an early feminist anthem in the 1960’s and ’70’s. Since then the idea of self possession has grown to be more universal…This song is about refusing to be objectified and owned. By anyone.”
IMMORTAL includes some very special guests as well. “Warren Haynes plays on Tom Petty’s ‘Luna’ and ‘You Don’t Own Me,'” ANN reveals. “Ben Mink is featured on Leonard Cohen’s ‘A Thousand Kisses Deep’ and Amy Winehouse’s ‘Back to Black.’ They are both musicians and great people whom I admire. It’s always a pleasure and an honor to work with them. Their souls shine through on these songs!”
Producer Mike Flicker brings an important element to IMMORTAL. “Mike was the first producer to believe in me,” ANN says. “He was my first teacher in the studio and knows how to provide that special support needed to bring out my soul in the recording process. It is exciting to work with him for the first time since 1980. I have traveled many, many miles since then but the old feeling is still there and fresh on Immortal. He has fearlessly helped me bring my ideas to life once again and it’s been a great collaboration.”
The IMMORTAL track listing is as follows:
“A Different Corner” (George Michael)
“A Thousand Kisses Deep” (Leonard Cohen)
“Back to Black” (Amy Winehouse)
“Baker Street” (Gerry Rafferty)
“I Am the Highway” (Chris Cornell, Audioslave)
“I’m Afraid of Americans” (David Bowie)
“Life in the Fast Lane” (Joe Walsh, The Eagles) in honor of Glenn Frey
TED POLEY recently teamed up with Swedish modern melodic rock stars DEGREED to record a very special solo project Modern Art, that sees Ted taking a left turn musically, but really delivering the goods.
Fans of classic MAGNUM are in for a surprise, with old and recently departed members coming together to form KINGDOM OF MADNESS, a group dedicated to performing classic Magnum tracks from the era 1978-1994 and includes recently deposed keyboardist Mark Stanway and popular drummer Mickey Barker.
The group features musicians who have either toured or recorded with Magnum, with the addition of bass supremo Neil Murray and his Snakecharmer band mate, vocalist Chris Ousey (Heartland, Virginia Wolf).
Stanway: “There is an extensive catalogue of great songs from the classic years of Magnum which have not been performed on stage in many years and which audiences have constantly requested. Having said that, I should state that we by no means consider ourselves a Magnum ‘tribute’ – how can it be when five of the members have a shared legacy with the band?
I’m delighted to be working with Richard Bailey, Mickey Barker, Laurence Archer and Mo Birch again, and in bassist Neil Murray and vocalist Chris Ousey, we have two musicians with their own distinct history who will obviously bring their personal musical identity to the project.
In addition, with our focus being firmly on the music from the earlier period, we do not perceive ourselves as being in ‘competition’ with the current Magnum. There is more than enough music to keep both bands busy – a fitting testament to the song-writing of Tony Clarkin.”

SCHUBERT IN ROCK, inaugurated by Klaus Schubert, lead guitarist and mastermind of NO BROS, is taking what was established and is now going to the next level.
Back in 2013, Schubert assembled some of the most legendary international rock artists and long-time friends to record new versions of NO BROS' greatest hits. Among those previously featured were Tony Martin (BLACK SABBATH), Biff Byford (SAXON), Joe Lynn Turner (RAINBOW, DEEP PURPLE), Marc Storace (KROKUS), Doogie White (RAINBOW), Bernie Marsden (WHITESNAKE), Neil Murray (BLACK SABBATH, BRIAN MAY) and Don Airey (DEEP PURPLE). The riveting project turned out to be a huge success and culminated in a sensational sell-out show at the Congress concert hall in Innsbruck.
Much like the first self-titled album, the new "Commander of Pain" project will feature some of the world's most celebrated Artists and musicians, making for, yet, another milestone in Austrian Rock Music.
"Commander of Pain" will introduce entirely new songs, all of them tailor-made for each artist while remaining true to SCHUBERTs distinctive sonic signature.

Phil Mogg has confirmed that next year's 50th anniversary tour with UFO will be his last as the frontman of the long-running hard rock band. Consequently, it seems almost certain that at that point they will cease to exist. UFO were formed in London in 1968 and Mogg is their only ever-present member, performing on all of the group's 22 studio albums.
'This decision has been a long time coming, I've considered stepping down at the end of UFO's previous two tours,'Mogg explains. 'I don't want to call this a farewell tour as I hate that word, but next year's gigs will represent my final tap-dancing appearances with the band."
'2018 marks UFO's 50th anniversary, so the timing feels right,' he continues. 'There will be a final tour of the UK and we will also play some shows in selected other cities that the band has a strong connection with. But outside of the UK this won't be a long tour. Being out on the road isn't always tremendously luxurious and although the playing is as great as it ever was, the stuff that surrounds it becomes very tiresome. I always told myself that when I reached that stage I would step down, and that's what I'm going to do. This is the right time for me to quit.'
Mogg turned 70 back in April and although his voice remains strong, he admits that age played its part in his conclusion.
'I'm a big reader of obituaries, and my finger always goes down to: 'I wonder how old they were…',' he chuckles. 'The last few years have been tough, losing Lemmy was awful and I was sad that Jimmy Bain passed on a cruise ship. That distressed me quite a lot.'
While many veteran bands in such a position simply cease playing live and continue to record, UFO will no longer be releasing new music. "A Conspiracy Of Stars" in 2015 and last year's covers collection 'The Salentino Cuts' are set to become a signing-off point, though Mogg insists that however unlikely the prospect might seem – the singer is a lone strrand of consistency throughout a 50-year history – he would have no problemm with UFO continuing with a replacement.
The band's current line-up – completed by keyboard player/seconnd guitarist Paul Raymond, guitarist Vinnie Moore, drummer Andy Parker and bassist Rob Le Luca – have of course been informed of Mogg's decision.
'I've told the guys that this is how it is,' he says. 'They know it's my time to go and they know that they can do whatever they want to do without me but I don't want to play live or make records anymore, though having said that I might go on and do an album of my own. I'll have to see how I feel about that.'
Of course UFO have either split up, retired or gone on hiatus several times before but Mogg is keen to make the distinction that next year's dates don't just mark the end of his touring commitments with UFO – for Phil, therre will be no further concerts of any kind.
'For me, this is the end of my stint with UFO,' he clarifies. 'This is a line in the sand. I'm suggesting we call the tour 'Last Orders', though I also like 'The Bar Is Closing'. I'm also tempted to name it 'The Drinks Are On Parker',' he chuckles, referring long-suffering sticksman Andy Parker.
You'll have gathered that Mogg is not about to slash his wrists anytime soon. Of course he is sad that the finishing line is now within slight but has had sufficient time to live with and process such a massive personal decision.
'Maybe the best word to use is 'bittersweet',' he concludes. 'But my time has arrived and all that remains is to make sure that we have a good tour.'
