Headlined by prog rock pioneers and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees YES, the trek launched June 12 in Bethlehem, PA and wraps Sunday, July 28 in Saratoga, CA. It's an unforgettable, historic and seamlessly flowing evening with 3 ½ hours of music by legendary artists who've sold over 150 million albums combined, adding up to excellent value for the ticket price. The concert experience includes high-definition video walls with archival clips that illustrate the historic importance of the music. On "The Royal Affair Tour," YES--Steve Howe (guitar--joined 1970), Alan White (drums since 1972), Geoff Downes (keyboards; first joined in 1980), Jon Davison (vocals since 2011) and Billy Sherwood (guitar/keyboards in the 1990s and the late Chris Squire's choice to take over bass/vocals in 2015), with Jay Schellen on additional drums--is playing an expansive set that underlines their legacy as the most enduring, ambitious and virtuosic progressive band in rock history. The set includes their signature songs "Roundabout," "I've Seen All Good People," "Siberian Khatru" and their immortal cover of Simon & Garfunkel's "America" plus various songs they haven't performed in years like "The Gates of Delirium" and "Rhythm of Love."

As part of the evening's British theme, YES is performing their interpretation of John Lennon's "Imagine." YES drummer Alan White played on the song's original recording and other Lennon solo material. The video montage for "Imagine" includes rare archival footage of John Lennon and George Harrison with Alan White.

Asia is playing their signature songs (as they pay tribute to their late founding member John Wetton). Original members Carl Palmer and Geoff Downes of YES are joined by the new line-up featuring guitarist/lead vocalist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (formerly of Guns N' Roses) and bassist Billy Sherwood of YES. A portion of their set features original guitarist Steve Howe of YES in a special performance. Featured are such ASIA classics as "Only Time Will Tell" and "Heat of the Moment," alongside ELP's "Lucky Man" and "Video Killed The Radio Star" by The Buggles (which Downes co-founded).

John Lodge's set encompasses his classic hits by Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees The Moody Blues and pays tribute to the band's recently departed member Ray Thomas. Notably, Jon Davison of YES joins Lodge in his set for a riveting version of the Moodies classic, "Ride My See-Saw."

Carl Palmer's ELP Legacy reignites the music he made famous in Emerson, Lake and Palmer and remembers late members Keith Emerson and Greg Lake. Joining his band on vocals is shock-rock pioneer Arthur Brown. The set features a lethal, show-stopping version of the 1968 chart-topping smash, "Fire," by The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, for which Palmer was the drummer in his pre-ELP days.

Dallas, TX - Sept 15, 2017. North American syndicated Rock radio show IN THE STUDIO with Redbeard: The Stories Behind History’s Greatest Rock Bands gets a first hand account from YES current and former members Jon Anderson, Rick Wakeman, Steve Howe and Bill Bruford about perhaps the pinnacle moment for progressive rock with the 1972 release of YES Close to the Edge.

Coming off the breakthrough success of the band’s Fragile album just nine months earlier, YES had now gained a level of commercial capital that they intended to spend. It wouldn’t come in the form of three and a half minute pop songs, instead appearing as an album of only three songs. Close to the Edge would debut at # 3 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart and crown YES as progressive rock royalty for decades to come. Jon Anderson tells IN THE STUDIO host Redbeard that the band did not intentionally aspire to create complex lengthy songs.

“We were making music and we’d stop when it was finished and look at each other and say, “Well that’s great, what is it?” And (producer/engineer) Eddie Offord would say,’ its twelve minutes long.’ Wow, well, we’ll just tighten that up a bit and it’s ten minutes long. YES TO TOUR FRAGILE AND DRAMA

IN UK AND EUROPE IN APRIL

Seminal prog pioneers YES hit the road for an extensive UK and European tour at the end of this month…. April 2016. The band will be performing 1971’s ‘Fragile’ and 1980’s ‘Drama’ in their entirety, the latter for the very first time, plus other seminal tracks including ‘Owner of a Lonely Heart’ and ‘Starship Trooper’.

Warners has recently released all of their catalogue YES albums Mastered For iTunes. YES has recently lost bassist and co-founder Chris Squire, a tragedy that left the prog world in mourning. His replacement Billy Sherwood found a big pair of shoes to fill, as YES set out to honour his memory by keeping the band’s legacy alive. The band recently toured the US tour with fellow prog legends Toto to an enthusiastic reception.

YES was founded by Chris Squire and Jon Anderson in 1968. Characterized by a unique, prog symphonic style of rock music, lengthy compositions and the use of mystical and cosmic lyrics, the band found success in 1971 with two of the band’s most celebrated records, ‘The YES Album’ and ‘Fragile’. The band went on to record 21 albums and win several prestigious awards including Grammys. Yes is recognized as one of the most influential icons in prog rock.

Still as relevant today as they were in the 70s, YES has maintained a loyal following while constantly attracting new crowds of music fans throughout 47 years of outstanding career. RIP Chris Squire... The progressive rock giant and founding member of YES. An innovator and a inspiration to many.

Chris Squire, bassist and founding member of Yes, has died, a month after revealing he had been diagnosed with leukemia. He was 67.

The band confirmed the news Sunday on its official Facebook page, writing: “For the entirety of Yes’ existence, Chris was the band’s linchpin and, in so many ways, the glue that held it together over all these years. Because of his phenomenal bass-playing prowess, Chris influenced countless bassists around the world, including many of today’s well-known artists. Chris was also a fantastic songwriter, having written and co-written much of Yes’ most endearing music, as well as his solo album, Fish Out of Water.”

Squire and singer Jon Anderson co-founded Yes in London in 1968, and although the band’s lineup shifted over the years, Squire was the one constant member, playing bass on all of Yes’ albums and performing with the band for almost 50 years.

In May, Squire announced that he had been diagnosed with acute erythroid leukemia and would consequently miss the band’s upcoming summer tour, marking the first time ever Yes would play a show without him. Billy Sherwood was to step in as bassist.

“This will be the first time since the band formed in 1968 that Yes will have performed live without me,” Squire said in a statement at the time. “But the other guys and myself have agreed that Billy Sherwood will do an excellent job of covering my parts and the show as a whole will deliver the same Yes experience that our fans have come to expect over the years.”

Squire’s bandmate Geoffrey Downes first announced Squire’s death on Twitter.

Grammy Award-winning bass guitarist, vocalist, and founding member of Yes, Chris Squire, has been diagnosed with Acute Erythroid Leukemia (AEL), an uncommon form of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Chris will be receiving treatment in his hometown of Phoenix over the next few months.

Yes will be honoring their commitment to their North American summer tour with Toto, as well as confirming their performances on the Cruise To The Edge in November.

Chris's role in the band will be covered by Yes alumnus Billy Sherwood.

26 Date Tour Gets Underway On August 7th

Available in 2CD/DVD, Blu-ray and digital formats, this new release encompasses two of the band’s iconic albums, 1971’s The YES Album and 1977’s Going For The One, as they were performed live on the band’s 2014 world tour.

Says guitarist Steve Howe, "Playing complete albums is a great way to hear the development of YES music & relive the familiar transitions from one track to another.” Expertly executed, these two classic albums are performed in their entirety, respecting the original arrangements, and yet still adding a new and exciting flair. “Going For The One is a wonderfully diverse set of songs, whilst The Yes Album contains the most ‘played live’ songs in the career of the band,” complements Howe.

Featuring some of the band’s most popular songs, such as ‘I’ve See All Good People,’ ‘Yours Is No Disgrace,’ ‘Going For The One,’ ‘Wonderous Stories,’ and ‘Starship Trooper,’ this set proves the endurance factor of one of England’s most acclaimed rock bands.

“These are two bodies of music that many of the most devout YES fans wanted to hear in their entirety,” adds keyboardist Geoff Downes. “I believe our performance at the Bristol Hippodrome was among the most compelling of the entire tour.”

The CD/DVD set comes as YES continues one of its most fertile musical periods in its nearly five decade history. Formed in 1968, the band has endured a number of line-ups and remains one of the most popular live touring bands in rock, today. Over 40 million record sales later, the band continues to tour and release current material on a regular basis.

New York, NY (July 21, 2014)-- Eagle Rock Entertainment is proud to announce the September 23 simultaneous release of Yes’ Songs From Tsongas - The 35^th Anniversary Concert - Special Edition on 2DVD, Blu-ray, and Digital Formats, and the first ever release of Songs From Tsongas as a 3CD set. The Special Edition of Songs From Tsongas contains two different concerts from Yes’ 35^th Anniversary Tour in 2004, the last tour to feature the classic line-up of Jon Anderson, Steve Howe, Chris Squire, Rick Wakeman and Alan White. In addition to the originally released Songs From Tsongas show, this DVD is packed with an additional 70 minutes of never-before-released highlights from Lugano. Songs From Tsongas offers a fantastic set list of favorites and rarities including “Going For The One,” “Roundabout,” “Owner Of A Lonely Heart,” “And You And I,” “Starship Trooper,” “Wonderous Stories,” “I’ve Seen All Good People,” “Yours Is No Disgrace,” “Ritual,” “Turn Of The Century,” and many more captured here in all their glory.

Disc One of the Special Edition DVD contains the whole concert from the Tsongas Arena in Lowell, Massachusetts, previously spread across two discs. This epic show features tracks from across the band’s career including an extensive acoustic section (tracks 11 – 18) and some tracks that have rarely been performed live. This entire concert is featured on the Songs From Tsongas 3CD.

Disc Two features a very different concert on the same tour filmed at Estival in Lugano, Switzerland. This outdoor show has a stripped down stage and full on rock versions of the acoustic tracks from Tsongas while the crowd wield a multitude of umbrellas against the pouring rain, which is clearly not preventing them having a great time!

As a Bonus Feature, the DVD includes another track “Ritual,” also filmed at the Tsongas Arena, and an insightful interview with legendary designer and Yes collaborator Roger Dean who created the brand new stage set for the shows.

I don’t mind myself some falsetto vocals, but when there’s no light and shade – that is, the vocals are all falsetto all of the time, and the album goes some 50 minutes, well, my ears begin to rebel.

Iconic prog-pop-rock band Yes are back with their first album in many moons, with stalwarts Steve Howe, Chris Squire, Alan White and Geoff Downes with new vocalist Jon Davison in for the departed icon that was Jon Anderson.

As expected Davison is an Anderson soundalike and does his job keeping the traditional Yes sound intact.

The album is beautifully produced by the legendary Grammy Award winner, Roy Thomas Baker (Queen, The Cars, Guns N’ Roses, Foreigner, Alice Cooper and more), ensuring that fans of the band get exactly what they hoped for.

The songs are long and complex, but don’t forget the necessary hooks to hold it all together – the first three: Believe Again, The Game and Step Beyond impressing in particular.

The rest of the albums takes a little more concentration to appreciate, but those vocals are a hindrance for the likes of me.

The album is all quite likable and I expect longtime fans to be happy, but those vocals…they are enough to turn me off any long term loyalty to this record and I expect will encourage other fence sitters to do likewise.
