Dude, I respect your opinion. I agree that Schon's noodling was a detraction at times. Journey is my favorite band. I don't think the songs were strong or melodic and the vocal harmonies were lacking. The thing that pissed me off with that cd was City of Hope. I felt Schon was pandering to the current market by playing a detuned guitar on that song. Journey's happy vibe comes in part from the key of the songs. They missed that on COH.
Nothing on the Boston cd pissed me off, well maybe the whisper song with the chick singer. ;-)
Don't believe everything you've read on reviews of the Boston cd. I think you can find $10's worth of good songs on the cd. I listened to it in my truck first, which was a mistake. The mix sounded terrible in my truck. The story changed significantly when I listened to it on my home system. It was a LOT better. My home system is pretty well tuned to my mix perference so maybe it compensated for a poor mix. I need more time with it but i do like it better than Eclipse.
