...Lecord Rabels? Is someone taking the piss out of my geographical locale? My partner in the UK received an answer phone message on Friday from Mark saying how unhappy he was that I'd posted on this subject here - even though I've only really been calling for him to come and vindicate himself, not stay silent on the matter and allow himself to be maligned as is the case now.... As for labels,

..and then you could start your own label. ...just a thought.

It's a fair point, but my personal feeling is that it would at least be acknowledgement of the situation. That ultimately might lead to dialogue away from this forum...and who knows where that might lead? ...Just call me Kisinger.

Do you have any particular band in mind here? Say, a band that you happen to play in...?

As much as I agree with the sentiment, Andrew, as the old phrase goes the people have spoken. Whilst I agree that we appear now to be talking ourselves round in circles, that's seems to be what people want to do, doesn't it? Let's face it, this genuinely is the subject that just won't lie down and die.

I've no idea who you are or what your agenda is, Steam Roller, as you choose to use that name, but that is without doubt the most biased and ill informed post so far on this or any Z related thread.... Yes, it's been two years since this all erupted, two years in which nothing has actually happened. Two years isn't actually a very long time, a blink of an eye, really. Long enough to sort things

You're dead right, Pete. I know for a fact that Mark has been reading these comments and chosen not to comment himself. This is, of course, his God given right. I would rather not think badly of him and I just wanted to hear him clear this up himself - as I said earlier, we go back a long way.

130. Re: Idols
Likewise, Dave, Marc Bolan first followed by purchases of Mott The Hoople's 'Rock n' Roll Queen' and then Deep Purple's 'Machine Head'...that's where it all began for me, really. I did meet Phil Lynott on a couple of occasions, and no one - NO ONE - epitomised rock n' roll the way he did.

Having flown back from Japan for Firefest, I'm gutted that I can't actually claim to have come the furthest distance...but I was mega delighted to finally meet the great man... We most definitely are not worthy!!

You are already hearing the other side of the story, mate! Hear that deafening silence? That's all you need to know... I have watched this debate ebb and flow over a two year period. I bumped in to Mark at a European music biz event a few days after the original posting by all of the aggrieved Swedish musicians and he assured me at that time that it was all a huge misunderstanding. I let it ride

Hi, burrned. Nice post. Well, you are obviously very entitled to your most welcome opinion re: M.ILL.ION. The fact of the matter is, we believe in the band and that's as much justification as I feel we need to be involved with them and to finance them. I agree about the re-issue thing (I should do, I've been involved in the whole re-issue business far longer than most!) but you have to underst

Exactly right, Andrew. Mark Alger's silence is the most frustrating thing. It's not solely his livelihood, it's what's happening to the people he owes money to that's the issue here. As has been said many times here, one lengthy post explaining his situation in as much detail as he feels he needs to would help a great deal. There has obviously been little or no real contact with the aggrieved pa

I'm gonna make no secret of the fact that, due to the amount of money we as a label have invested in bands like Kick & M.ILL.ION in our first full year of trading, Majestic Rock came as close as we possibly could to going tits up over Christmas and New Year. We're getting back on track now, thank God, but yeah, it's damn tough. The point is, we've sat all of our bands and business associates

Yeah, I know...I'm gonna get hammered for starting another Z thread. So don't reply to this post. Do read it, though... I've known Mark Alger for getting on for twenty years. I first met him when he was a club DJ and I was in charge of rock promo at Phonogram. He was a likeable guy. We've stayed in contact from time to time, and most recently he asked me to try and put some deals together here i

Sure, but he goes bankrupt owing @!#$ loads to other people as well. You just join a long list of debtors who ultimately get next to nothing...if not actually nothing!

So, labels are out for the labels, yeah? We are into a lot of money spent on M.ILL.ION. Why? Because we believe in them, we think they're a great band and we seriously do believe that, at some point in the future, we'll make our money back PLUS. Now, does that sound like anyone's being ripped off? Please, dude, don't paint us all with the same brush... ...oh, and Alger owes us money as well.
