That was REALLY good. I’m impressed, I wasn’t expecting much after Trust. But I was really hoping Jamie Salters would make it back into the fold. The guitarist is killing it here though. Anyone know what Salters is up to? Loved his voice also on the Faith Nation CD.

Is this a lead up to something bigger? Maybe an album? Good news nonetheless…

Oh I fully intend to Terry, it’s just drawn me in so much I can’t stop playing it :-). The only thing I don’t like on One is the artwork. It’s too dark for the music that’s on it. They got it right with Two though!

I haven't listened to 'Two' yet because I haven't stopped listening to 'One'. What a great CD! Highly recommended to anyone who hasn't heard it - what a great band!

I know Herbie Herbert didn't like JC very much. He related a story one time where he threatened to quit or something (I don't remember the details but it was something along the line of preventing Journey from going ahead) if he didn't also sign his wife (Tane) at the time for a record contract which Herbie did NOT want to do... This guy says it better (copied from another site): According t

I'd like to double what Wardy said, What the Water Wants is great. Love the whole album, every song is gold. Hope he puts out more in this style. Probably my favorite album of his since Parallels.

Music is ok and the vocals are very good, but those lyrics… ouch! I was cringing listening to them, not a good sign. Sounds like they just strung together a list of phrases, words that went with the melody but don’t particularly make any sense. Lazy lyric writing. That’s one good thing about Tony Harnell, He puts effort into making decent/excellent lyrics that match the melody of the m

Someone should remind him he's not Tracy Chapman! It sounds like he's trying to channel Tracy Chapman instead of trying to make it a Bon Jovi song. Those inflections of his voice are what makes it sound so weird. If he sang it lower it would sound better.

It may be a bit impractical but they should have just rerecorded the demos if the sound is that bad. The songs are already completed and they are still a working band (as a Journey tribute band). It would have made it a definite purchase for many.

If you like this album check out Big Mouth - Hands of Time. Excellent album with the excellent vocalist Larry Leon. It’s a shame he never did anything else because he was a great vocalist!

Mitch has said that the record company pushed him into doing that album. They gave him an ultimatum that he would have to go the Adult contemporary direction or another which I forget now or loose his record contract. So he choose the Michael Bolton route. He's a great singer but as a songwriter he misses more than he hits. If he had some outside writers/collaborators I think he could put

I think one of Sabu's albums was on that label as well. Had to look twice at that when I first saw it.

Forced? Was it the record company pushing them in that direction? That seems to be the case pretty often as is the case of Mitch Malloy's second release "Ceilings and Walls" where they wanted him to go in more of a Michael Bolton direction. If it was they really shot themselves in the foot with that one.

No big issue but I've run into this before. If you pay $20 for a CD there is is a certain expectation of a somewhat decent packaging. If it's a cut-rate product you should expect a cut-rate price. Or at the very least the customer should know what they're getting. If it was $10 I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being a cardboard slip cover and disc. Not that I would be happy about it, but

Well either way if it's a CD-R or factory pressed, it sounds like it was manufactured very cheaply... Not a way to compete in this market, label or not.

I don't feel sorry for him at all but for the concert goers who spent money to go see him. He had plenty of time to get himself ready physically and vocally for the gig. But he's clearly not even close to being ready. I'm sure he feels bad and has a ton of excuses if asked. But he's a professional musician, he should act like one. He's lucky that he's built up a fan base that wants to see him

I'd have to agree a bit with Rondo. I don't consider it a classic but it is a great album and I'd definitely rank it above a few of Led Zep's less popular albums. Jake is a monster on guitar. Some of the deep tracks are better than the more popular ones for me, such as Devil's Stomp, and Seasons which will always be a favorite of mine. It came at a time in my life where I was looking for a blu

Really liked that Mars Hill album. Found it cheap used but was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I was not impressed with the Action CD though. The musicianship was there but the album lacked any character. Almost as if someone said to them, can you make a melodic rock album, and they said sure, here you go. It one of those album I listen to every so often to see if I’m missing some

The last I heard during that interview they did was make it clear that they were moving at their own pace, not putting themselves under any time constraint. So it could be a while ;-)

Didn't this same thing happen with Michael Bormann in Jaded Heart. He got kicked out of the band that he started and was the lead singer for. Granted he was in the band for a while and they had a few albums out but it sounds like it's basically the same situation.

Well of course the 1st album by Boston was supposed to be demos. Although, Tom did such a good job of it, you wouldn't be able to tell. I think when they got signed, the record company wanted Tom to rerecord it in a professional studio of which Tom refused.

Very sad news, I always liked his releases. He'll definitely be missed... Does anyone know of the connection Phil had with Preview? I noticed that a bunch of demos that Preview had that surfaced on youtube are also on Phil's Glass Mountain CD. Did he write for them at some point or have some other connection with them? Some cool tracks...
