That's what happens when you're ahead of your time and the record labels don't have vision!

I would only consider him to be chasing the payola if the album he ends up singing on is crap. In that case we’ll know he’s just chasing the money. But I don’t think that’s the case, I think he genuinely loves the band and the music as well as contribute to theirs and his legacy. And he’s making money on the deal so I wish him the best of luck.

I’m just glad that it’s a deep track he’s covering. I’m tired of hearing the same old set of songs covered.

Saw a Dan Rather interview with Styx and they were pretty firm that it's not going to happen. They basically said that life's too short to work with people you can't stand working with.

Yeah, it makes me wonder why and how they choose such an obscure song. If I had listened to that original I wouldn't have thought it would make a good Tesla song. But the end result turned out pretty good though!

Those are some strong words. By comparing it to their most classic album they're setting up very high expectations. Hope it can deliver. It could just be the normal marketing push but if it's even half as good as Escape most people would be happy. Looking forward to it though.

The song doesn't do it for me. The accents and the lyrics could've been a whole lot better. The girls are hot so that's something...

Wow, I wonder how they plan on marketing that? That’s even worse than Giant without Dan Huff…

Loved Rock America and Under the Gun a lot from that album as well. It did have its share of filler though.

Yeah he hasn’t learned that less can be more. It’s ok to do vocal acrobatics but they should be added very sparingly for effect. Otherwise it just sounds like he’s trying too hard to impress.

Rush are really one of those bands where the sum of the parts were greater than any individual piece. Together they were magic and made some amazing music. Separately they've been lackluster. I'm looking forward to hearing this album but I don't have high expectations.

Really liked this, they added a nice dirty groove to it which I think fits it very well. Makes me want to check out this band more since previous to this they've been under my radar.

Maybe they'll throw in the rights to the KISS Kasket as well! What am I saying this is Gene we're taking about. He'd try to auction off his own remains if he could or charge for tickets to see his tombstone.

Got mine yesterday. Haven’t gotten to listen to it yet but it’s clear from the packaging and liner notes etc that a lot of love went into this project. It shows!

Rubicon Cross was great. I would even love to hear a follow up to that album. Just hope he keeps recording something!

Well in this market I don't blame a lot of the musicians for taking any of the work. As we all know there isn't a lot of money in the melodic rock market so most artists have to take their income wherever it comes. I don't blame them for jumping at a chance of a paycheck. The quality control should be done at the label. So far I like the sound of the new Giant. And yes I understand it is

Yeah pretty boring and I have to agree with Andrew on this as well. It's like he's lost his sense of what sounds good in a chorus and a verse. Just seems to go nowhere. Loved his early material but I just don't like where he's at musically these days.

Surprised at Toto being last, I would’ve they’d be higher especially since Africa, Rosanna etc are classic rock staples.

Poison at the Albany Arena about 1992 or so. They were so loud that it was just noise in my ears. I remember looking around me and thinking am I the only one? I could barely tell what they were playing. Plus on top of that Brett did a harmonica solo that lasted about 10-20 minutes. I think he wanted to try and outdo the drum solo. Did he really think that people at a rock concert want to he

Really liked the song and she sounds great. Would love her go back to her 80’s melodic rock roots but understand why she’s not. What’s with the jacket.someone turn up the heat in the studio. Increase the budget so they can afford some oil!

I have to second and third this. Love these discs. Great classic melodic hard rock from the Brass Kitten vocalist. Excellent production, sounds a lot like Britny Fox to me.
