The CD was priced at $12.99. Shipping was $7.03 = which was, as I originally stated, vastly overpriced. BUT, anyone who didn't want to pay that much, didn't have to. They could have simply chosen not to right then and there, and to waited to see what the retail price would end up being in stores. ANYONE who still decided to buy and get the CD early made a CHOICE to do so. To complain about it l

I agree, Andrew, but I'm not talking about just bands and CD's. As I said this tends to happen with everything. It shouldn't, but it does.

Yep, real mature. But I guess that's what I'd expect from someone who doesn't seem to want to take ANY PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR HIS OWN ACTIONS. It's attitudes like THAT that have screwed the music biz over. Dude, anyone with half a brain knows that taking advantage of getting ANYTHING early is a crap shoot. Especially in this day and age. You could end up getting a better deal, or you might

That may be, but I still say your anger is misdirected. In the end, you've really got no one to blame except yourself. YOU chose to order the disc early. YOU agreed to pay that much for shipping. YOU could have chosen not to. YOU could have waited to buy it, and see what difference there might have been with pricing. But YOU didn't. Yeah, you're mad - but really, you're just mad at yours

You need to get your anger vented in the right place. I understand your annoyance, but you didn't get screwed by the band. To blame them personally is pretty ridiculous. For one, if anything, you got screwed by Music Today, who handled the shipping & distribution for the pre-release, and, which really did waaaaaaay overcharged on shipping costs. Unfortunately, that's how that company makes i

Basically "Flashback" is just the name for Rhino's budget line of CD's. They aren't necessarily all re-mastered, and unless you see specific labeling saying that they are, I wouldn't assume otherwise.

LOVE that album! Personally, I think it's one of his best works.

I actually just dug that disc out the other day, myself. I woke up with "Voices" in my head, and had to hear the rest of the album, too.Kip wrote:

CDs = Somewhere around 7,000 to 8,000. Maybe more. I stopped counting a few years back. Back in 2001, I sold around 1,000 of them at one time, and it didn't even look like it made a dent in the collection. That was eight years ago, so you can imagine how that's grown since. LP's = around 1,000 Concerts = 300 or more. I'm not entirely sure of the exact number. I've worked in the music business

I'm right with you on that one JBB. Even if they make no further Def Leppard Deluxe edition discs, as long as they do HIGH N DRy, I'll be a happy man.

Two different animals. Space: Above And Beyond was a 90's show. Space 1999 was a 70's show (Gerry Anderson) Love lots of Sci-Fi shows, myself, including the latter mentioned, Babylon 5, Battlestar Gallactica, Farscape, and all of the Star Trek series. Deep Space Nine remains my favorite, though.

Yeah, I agree about Charlie. He's also a hell of a nice guy, too. His solo albums since are much more mellow and acoustic driven, but still quite good. You should be able to get them at http://www.charliefarren.com/ . I still love the debut album the best, but unlike you Terry, I got the CD first, then had to track down the vinyl later. It was back in the early days of CD, and when I switched

Can't stand the singer for the Hold Steady, though. The musics alright, but the vocals kill them for me. At least I like Brian Fallon of GA's voice.

One of my faves from last year. Nothing highly original, but damn well played. A great driving record, too.

"Ready An' Willing" should be your next one to get. Always my fave of the earlier studio albums after "Slide It In". I, too, also prefer the US mix of SII over the UK - it just has a little more life to it.

Think you hit it pretty squarely on the head with that definition, rocknut. Then again, HIGHWAY is my favorite AC/DC album too.

Easily THE BEST album in the Leppard canon if you ask me. And I like them all.

Forgot to add that I'm still mainly getting ADRENALIZE just for the re-mastered songs, namely "Tonight", that didn't make it onto the last couple of compilation discs. And, the remastered bonus material. Probably won't bother with PYROMANIA, but still haven't decided yet.

You kids are lucky. These don't even street in the U.S. until next week (6/23) - so over here we've got another week before we can get them.

The MFSL (Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs) Gold disc stuff holds up pretty well - but yes, my "Hysteria" remaster does sound just a tad better than the MFSL Gold disc version. Also, since I'm just as interested in getting the bonus material re-mastered, and "Adernalize" never got a Gold disc release, I'll be buying them anyway.

Loved it when it first came out, but haven't listened to it in years. Reckon I'll have to go give it a spin.

Well said. Since when has doing a soundtrack song or theme been considered "selling out" anyway? BTW - did you know that Cheap Trick were the band originally planned for the movie "Rock & Roll High School"? They turned it down, and The Ramones ended up taking the gig. Does that make them "sell-outs" too?

Considering Creed just re-united, my guess is not any time too soon. I don't think Alter Bridge is the priority at the current time - and depending on how the reunion goes - possibly not one at all, anymore.

WOODEN BONES is good, but I still prefer their last, INTO THE WEST, more - even though that did have older material from their albums when they were going by the name Pilate. If you don't have it yet, you need to get it, too.

Gotta agree with Phil. I love pretty much everything post Shrapnel. My favorites, though, would be MOTHER'S HEAD II (or GO FASTER as it's titled in the States) and CHANGE. Terry, If you like the stuff he did with Mr. Big, then CHANGE would be a good place to start. It also includes his own (acoustic) version of "Shine".

Beside the fact the AC/Dc have gone on record (in the press) several times saying they will NEVER release a "Greatest Hits" CD.

I can honestly say that there isn't a Def Leppard album I don't like. However, if I could choose a "Special Edition/Remastered" version of ANY of their albums, it would without a doubt be HIGH 'N' DRY at the top of my list. That's the album that I discovered the band with, and it will always be my favorite (along with HYSTERIA).

According to the original (vinyl, that is) album's credits, Pete Willis supplied "Backing guitar tracks on all songs". Don't know if it says the same thing in the CD credits, because all I have is the MFSL version, and there are no credits (other than songwriting) listed in the liner notes of that album.
