As Locust posted on the PM:X2: Glad this is happening. I've always thought Everon was a highly underrated band. Fantasma is still one of my all time favorite albums. Sadly their drummer passed away earlier this year. He'd recorded 8 of the tracks already so they went ahead and finished it. About a year ago he started posting remastered unreleased tracks from the band's first recordings on h

Wow, that is very exciting. I've been a fan for a long time. First it was the return of Ice Age and now Everon. So happy to see these progressive bands make a comeback!

It's potentially a good album but is sadly brickwalled. So hard for me to seriously listen to it.

Take the albums by Alliance. The collection titled Destination Known (released in 2007) and Road To Heaven (released in 2008) both have good mastering and not too loud. However, Fire And Grace (released in 2019) is a brickwalled mess. Good songs but harsh mastering. Hopefully they have backed off on the loudness for newer releases.

Most are fair to good. The worst is the first self-titled Fastway album. I love the bonus B tracks but the album is extremely bright with over-enhanced treble. Making it a tinny mess. The original CD issue is decent but in this case, nothing beats the original vinyl. So glad I kept both.

Krokus fans know Marc Storace or at least his voice. While that Swiss band is winding down, Marc is still going strong with his own band. If you like Krokus, you'll like this album. Strong classic rock with guitar driven songs that heavily borrow from AC/DC. There are a few exceptions on the album but many are clones of that style ... which I don't mind. Keyboards are used but only to thicke

T Well if you going to do Queen II, I'd like to hear a second disc of the full songs with their true endings. While I like how the songs segue into the next song (original and artistic at the time), it would nice

In another post, I recently mentioned CDs sounding better than MP3s, FLAC or streaming. I'd add to that, vinyl albums manufactured from the 70s and 80s can also sound better than those digital formats (or yes CDs, if not properly mastered for the CD format). But the main topic of this post is discovering CDs manufactured in late 80s thru the 90s (before brick-walling) can sound better than modern

As a long time Queen fan, I think this remix is now the definitive version with improved clarity, better separation and enhanced drums. It removed some of the mud from the original recording and mix, while improving the dynamics of the songs. Even Mad The Swine now sounds like it's truly should be part of the original, as intended. It is still the weakest of the first five albums in production

I am a physical format guy but have started keeping some stuff as MP3 or FLAC, especially if its kind-of-good but not great or has a few good songs but otherwise a weak album. Personally I still find CDs sound better than MP3s, FLAC or streaming. And I still like "owning" the physical product. I guess I am just old fashion. Portability and easy access doesn't always mean better.

Generally speaking the UFO reissues are pretty good. Slightly louder but not brickwalled. Early versions of The Monkey Puzzle from Cleopatra had a minor gap in the song Good Bye You. But they replaced my disc with a revised and corrected disc for free when I contacted them.

I agree in general. He was very important in Evenescence. But he seems to have a lot problems that almost certainly led to him leaving as well as being very un-productive outside of one album with We Are The Fallen, a few solos and guest appearances.

Any comments about this release? Chicago is releasing a historic concert that has been newly re-mixed from the original multi-track tapes by founding member and trumpeter Lee Loughnane and engineer Tim Jessup. This 26-track live collection was recorded on September 16, 1971, about a week after the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts opened in the nation’s capital. For more than 50

In America, we have more guns than people. Gun culture and violence have a long and sad history in this country. Many want to have a conservative and "original" interpretation of our Constitution, except when it comes to guns. Personally I think every citizen should have as many black powder flintlock muskets as they want.

I saw it in person and it was a great performance. Kip had to bring along his older brother to help out. Yet even with the pauses/restarts and struggle to hit some high notes, it was pretty damn good. Needless to say, quite a difference to the regular ProgPower metal bands but the audience stayed and he had a full standing room floor crowd. In someways it was a welcome change up in the festiv

Its worth it for $60 due to the live video. Excellent picture and sound with a good audio mix including Michael Anthony's bass. Sadly it only comes in one version with the vinyl. The same with the CCR Live At Royal Albert Hall boxset. To get the excellent video, it requires the vinyl in the boxset. But like this Van Halen, the CCR video has excellent picture and sound mix. If you have Netflix

It started decades ago with fixed prices by the Japanese government for CDs. So the Japanese labels demanded something extra and exclusive from the bands to justify the cost. And hopefully dampen the Japanese market from importing CDs. A funny song about this is Edguy - Life and Times of a Bonus Track. Warning it has some inappropriate language. https://youtu.be/K3c2bihXXBs?si=SayEDlTmA_

Love the album "Let It Rock". Even the Japanese bonus song "Burnin' House of Love" is great. In fact I prefer it over an album many fans like, "Can't Get There from Here." To me "Can't Get There from Here" was very uneven with mixed results, even with the bonus of "The Good Die Young" by Dokken only marginally improved it. Word of warning,
