The original 1992 release was mastered by Bob Ludwig and still sounds great today. Bob was (and still is) one of the preeminent CD mastering engineers.

Well ... it's a Record Store Day deal on vinyl and only eight songs for $30. I'll wait for reviews and CD.

Very confusing about what or how this "tour" is and will be presented. I'll pass on this "tour" and leave my memories intact for the Never Surrender and Thunder Seven tours.

At least it's better picks than his first term with Rush Limbaugh. This time all of them are uniters or at least they avoid causing division like Limbaugh.

I'd like Just Getting Started more if it wasn't mastered so loud. The songs don't have any room to breath. Nice to hear a song from Big Ones. Those three new tracks were pretty good. Sadly the CD has a flat mix but the iTunes version sounds much better. I'm guessing the vinyl sounds good based on this review. I also agree there are some good to great songs in their later catalog including t

While I agree, his music (especially in the early years) was commercial and glitzy, don't forget some of his music had more meaning. These Days is a great album that didn't have massive commercial appeal but some heartfelt and serious lyrics. Also don't forget the philanthropy he's done over the years from rehabilitating homes to the JBJ Soul Kitchens. As well as Oprah’s Angel Network that

I haven't listen to it in years. But I remember it being brickwalled (too loud for the CD and highly compressed) in the production. Very common then and now. Anyway, I'll have to listen to it again. I am still finding that some albums had their best CD mastering in the late 80s and through the 90s. Before the age of brickwalling, labelled remastered by many labels. Back then, at least am

IMO, Siogo was pretty good. It least it retained the hard rock. Vertical Smiles, on the other hand, was a big disappointment. But I still like a few songs on it like Morning Dew.

I've seen Treat a couple of times and both times, they were good. Like many bands, I am sure they use some backing tracks for vocals. One of the exceptions is Y&T. With Dave and boys, what you hear is what they play and sing.

Shows how many musicians are needed to truly perform it live. The closest I saw was Queen Extravaganza, the official tribute band with multiple singers, including Jeff Scott Soto. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_Extravaganza#Tour_band

I too pulled out my Rock Candy version of Axe - Offerings and I don't hear any flaws or "clicking noises" on those songs. I suggest using another player as well as checking for any obvious physical CD flaws like scratches or dirt/fingerprints/smudges.

Yeah Tom Scholz is such a perfectionist that he would never approve of an official live album. However there are some surprisingly good bootlegs that were professionally recorded for radio broadcast and even one with good professional camera work. The following are NOT audience recorded concerts: Long Beach 1977 - excellent King Biscuit Flower Hour shows. An early and late show which are eac

The S/T has decent songs but the glossy production is very dated and difficult to enjoy due to the amped up reverb, compression and treble. You are right, they are trying to sound like Whitesnake 1987 ... which has the same issues of good songs but compressed and thin production. So I much prefer Demons Down and Sahara. To my ears, Demons Down is an excellent dynamic album in it's original

Axe Killer and Bad Reputation are related. You won't find any Axe Killer after about 2010 and then Bad Reputation starts appearing. Occasionally Bad Reputation they will reissue an old Axe Killer release. My only problem with Bad Reputation is they tend to highly compress (brickwall) their mastering.
