Yep, it feels like a Voss solo album with Michael guesting. He must be creatively spent thus handing the baton over to Voss. I am sure the albums recoup their costs and it enables him to keep touring, where the real money is.

Say what you will about people like Joe Lynn Turner or Robin McAuley, but they have unmistakable voices of their own leaving no doubt who's behind the microphone. These songs would have benefitted from having a singer like that perform them, even though McAuley sounds strangely "clipped" here. Maybe it's simply Voss' production style at fault.

Sounds like Schenker recorded his parts from the sofa while watching TV. Which is a surprise considering how sharp he’s sounded on the My Years with UFO tour. Agree McAuley sounds robotic. I use the term MSG loosely because this might as well have been a Michael Voss’ solo album. Where is Michael Schenker? I can’t even tell if it’s Erik Grönwall or Michael Voss singing these songs. Then you know you have a problem with a lack of personality. Very weak and plodding affair with every track running approx 3,5 mins and then onto the next one. Mass production in the Voss factory.

Great show the other night in Pratteln with Glenn in a better mood than in Neuruppin, where I saw him a couple of weeks ago. Larger venue too. His vocals are really great on this album, I feel. Especially given that he's 74. The lower register singing in the verses of My Alibi and Into the Fade for example. Hard to get enough of him when he goes for that delivery.
