By the time Vapor Trails came out, Geddy's voice had started to change though, leading to a different experience. Counterparts and Test for Echo to some degree was the end of Geddy's pristine vocal era.

I’ve seen him twice on this tour and wouldn’t mind a third time if I had the chance. He may downtune in places but it’s still very exciting to hear him scream the chorus to First Step of Love only to raise the intensity even further by going into that falsetto scream. I still get a lot out of his singing despite his somewhat reduced range. It has made him explore different sides to his voice. The vocals on Into the Fade on the new album are a good example of this. Still very much rich on character and something I could listen to all day long.

Were there any particular songs where you found it frustrating? The up side of it is that songs like Can’t Stop the Flood now sound super heavy.

I think that’s to be expected given his age. He still sounds very good :) I can’t think of any other 74 year old out there putting on 2 hour shows without any drum, guitar or keyboard solos, playing lead bass and singing at the same time, effectively carrying the shows on his shoulders. I am ready to cut him some slack regarding the downtuning.

By that logic it would be perfectly fine to have Arnel lip sync the whole show, ie prerecorded vocals. After all, they are only putting on a show.

Maybe they simply need a break from touring? I guess this says it all: "2 European legs on our 40th Anniversary Tour in 2024 and 2025 (as well as EU tours the previous two years in 2022 & 2023 as well)". Not everyone can jump on a plane to the States though :)
