No idea. Last I remember hearing from him was an interview on metal-rules.com about three or four years back.

I can agree with Al on a few of his points. New releases, while it kind of goes hand in hand with genre news, is certainly something to consider. Not being on social media, a lot of my upcoming release knowledge comes from Michael at NEH, MR.com and much more recently here on the board. As for reviews, I said it before on the original thread this one is talking about, while I certainly appreci

Personally I love 'Unusual Heat'. 'Can't Slow Down' is not as strong as that album to me but it still has some great songs on it as well.

Well I will certainly agree that Free's voice is incredible and the first album is indeed a great album, not denying that. But just for me personally, I wouldn't call it essential. Again, that's just for me. Still, I will most certainly give the new album a spin.

I did not know this had already been re-issued. Didn't it just release in 2015?

Why can't they just release a new album of original material? 'Can't Slow Down' came out in what, 2009? Since then all we have had with Hansen is live and re-recorded material and now we get a short EP of songs we have all heard multiple times.

I don't think Marcie will ever top Signal's 'Loud & Clear' album personally. None of the Unruly Child albums are bad but none are really must haves for me personally either.

I received my copy a few days ago but am embarrassed to say I have not broken the seal on it yet. I know he ships all over the world but I am not sure what he charges to get it there to Canada from here in the States, but from Michael at NEH has it available and has soundbytes of each track. http://nehrecords.com/SHOP/ENTER.HTM

Call me out of the loop on modern rock music I reckon but I have not heard of any of these folks save the U2 and Foo Fighter mention by Labrat.

It is not a bad record and as always there are some great songs on it, but I agree, there are definitely some much more pop rock tracks on it and some filler sounding tracks. Good album but not a great one. 'Crossfire' was much better in my opinion.

Wow, I haven't listened to that record in 8 or 9 years probably, since it's release. I haven't heard anything about a new record yet but I would be interested in hearing something from them again. However their website is still advertising 'Global Warning' as a new record so I don't know if they are or not.

I wasn't talking about negative comments or opinions in general, I was talking about the hateful, totally unnecessary ones. I have absolutely no problem with folks expressing their opinion or anything like that at all. I do however have a problem with people that go past that, past just relaying their opinion which may be negative and going into being spiteful, hateful, rude and just plain mean.

I will never understand the hate that bands like this and others you mentioned receive. If you do not like something then move on, there is no call for senseless, hateful comments. I don't understand the people that do so. I mean I don't make it a point to go out in search of somebody I completely dislike for the sole purpose of writing comments bashing them to no end. That being said, there w

I doubt that there are many within the fandom of melodic rock that would as most of us tend to have a bigger appreciation for the music and the artists then most, but I would be willing to bet that when it comes to the modern music that there are plenty of folks, especially in the younger crowd, that have no care about owning an official release (all they do is put it in digital form anyway), giv

That is a crazy amount of stuff! Glad the bastards got stopped. People like that don't give a flying f*** that they are hurting multiple people's livlihoods everytime they make a single copy. Keep that kind of crap up and we won't even have albums anymore because nobody would be able to afford to take the financial loss of making one. Way to go German PD!

Speaking of the festival, how was it? I have never been able to afford to go, actually had tickets this year but couldn't make ends meet on the rest of the expenses. There were a lot of bands I wanted to see but I know the line-up kept changing. Haven't read any reviews of the weekend yet.

Saw them a few years back when they first started touring again with Roth and to be honest I would pay to go see Van Hagar any day over seeing them with Diamond Dave again these days.

I am not really into the style of metal that Theocracy and the like put out and am amittedly not very knowledgeable on that part of the genre. But a while back I saw a video from a charity hosted by Theocracy's lead singer Matt Smith called Project Aegis and a song called 'Angel In The Ashes'on another site I follow and actually really liked the song which features a group of various artists, amo

I will definitely agree with you on the new Tyketto record. Excellent job by all involved for sure. Great record as well. To be fair though, most Frontiers releases are pretty outstanding in all facets of production, mixing, etc. The album that always comes to my mind on a poor mixing job is the Schoolboy Crush record 'Good Time, Bad Boys'. Terrible job.

I must admit I am rather surprised at the negativity surrounding this album. Sure, it is nothing new or profound, but I thought it was a pretty solid melodic rock release.

Let me take a leap here and go on the defensive for a minute here about a band that you can't say jack about without being trashed for your opinion from one side or the other. I don't think anyone is going to try and say that Bon Jovi is releasing the best music of his career these days, even the middle aged women that make up the majority of his fanbase. And I mean abosultely no offense to th

To clarify, I have no issue at all with Nic's vocals. He does a splendid job and sounds excellent on all of the releases. I just personally feel that the songwriting has not reached the same level as it once was. But that is just my opinion of course and to be fair I have my albums with Steve that I feel the same way about.

I thought the first'Prayers'album was excellent, save a track or two, and I am not a fan of modern rock at all. This second one is good, some very good songs included here, but I don't think it is quite as good as the first personally. Still, the band seems to be getting more melodic and writing better stuff then their first few records together.

I would have to disagree there. I quite enjoy these older albums. Sound, mix, lyrical content and all. Call it nostalgia if you will but I still love listening to them. I can see your point though, they are not for everyone these days. I do not think that the Network album is better personally but it is still a great record and Larry still sounds terrific of course.
