I agree, the book was a disappointment. I was really wanting more stories about the music and artists he worked with. Bat 3, while certainly not on the same level as the first two, is not too bad. I think it is worth it just for Blind A Bat which is one of my favorite songs Meat did. The opening track, The Monster’s Loose, is not too shabby either and was written by John5, Desmond and Nik

I am looking forward to it but fear it will be another When We Were Beautiful piece of crap. Hopefully I am wrong and it will be a well done, informative docu.

Agreed. I think you ticked off all of the boxes there. I am sure there are multiple factors why they, and others, didn’t make it big. With regards to the bands you named in my opinion, while they all had good music, they were all lacking that one song that would have catapulted them into stardom.

I have seen Richard with a full band and just acoustic. I have seen him do an entire show just standing there with a guitar or at the piano and no one else. Definitely a talented guy, as is anyone that can pull that off as you are just completely naked up there not only vocally but also with your guitar/piano playing. His catalogue of songs he has written for others is impressive as well and runs

I would have loved to have seen that show. I have never seen Rick live (always wanted to) but I have seen Richard and he always puts on a good show. Very humorous in concert. I think a lot of people write him off as a balladeer since most of his hits have been ballads but the man can actually rock out when he wants to and has a a lot of great rock songs in his catalogue.

Not to sound like a know-it-all but I can’t think of any that I discovered because of the board or site, that is not to say that there haven’t been any over the years, but most things I knew of prior to ever reading about them here. But I have definitely learned some things about artists and bands that I did not know before. The collective knowledge of rock music (and music in general) on th

Yes, he was with them as guitarist from 2000-20002 under the name Mary Goode. Quite different looking back then for how he looks now.

The fact that there is a kazoo on the album should tell folks all they need to know. Strange band and not my thing at all.

My first album would have been something classical like Tchaikovsky. My first rock album would be Damn The Torpedoes. Introduced to me by a dear friend who is no longer with us, it was my first taste of rock music outside of the classical stuff I grew up playing and hearing.

Just as a point of perspective, all of the military aged men that you keep mentioning also just happen to be working age men, perhaps it could be young men trying to come over to make a better living.

I understand the concept behind it. Once you reach a certain point as an artist you can’t just do open meet and greets anymore (i.e. standing at the merch table after the show). Also it is a way for the artist to make a bit more money in these days where they aren’t making anything from the music itself. I have had the opportunity to meet and talk with many artists over the years but I can’

Writing. I have written many stories and two novels that have not been published. My first novel published should be in print in ‘24. Reading. I am an avid reader. Mostly novels, biographies and books on history. Carpentry. I worked my way through college doing carpentry work and have always enjoyed it. Astronomy. One of my children got into it some time back and in the process of help

Great album, Don. I never could figure out why Dan never did any other vocals anywhere. The guitar player, Frank DiConstanzo, and drummer, John Fowler, went on to Steelheart.

I guess the term cookie cutter applies to them. Typical Scandi-rock but very well done. I like all three of their albums. Nothing new or cutting edge but, again, very well done and enjoyable and great guys to boot.
