I think it will be their last album of new material. Perhaps a compilation with a new song or some other form of compilation of unreleased songs but all new material written and recorded specifically for a new album, I believe it will be their last.

Aside from a very random song here or there I never cared at all for them until When Legends Rise released. That is a great album. Far more melodic than anything they had done previously (that I had heard at least).

Looks very promising. I am looking forward to it but have my doubts as to how open and honest it will be.

Funny you two mentioned Paradigm being one you have struggled with as that is one of my favorites post Bleed & Scream from them.

I like it. Nothing new or unexpected but just Eclipse doing Eclipse.

For me personally I think it is a lack of creativity and originality combined with forty years of listening to this music so there is really nothing new under the Sun for my ears anymore. Not many bands/artists try different sounds on tracks or albums. I love Eclipse but every album is pretty interchangeable with how they sound and that is an issue that most bands have now. That being said I d

I am in the minority here I realize, while I loved the album upon first hearing it, it did not have a very long life for me and I lost interest pretty quickly. Great voice and I will definitely be listening to the new album but hoping it has a bit more staying power for me.

I like the random song here and there by them and I thought Helix and Manifest had some strong moments but they really need to change things up. This constant three vocals on almost every song gets old fast for me. Jake sounded great with them. Elize has a good voice. Nils has a fantastic voice. But I can’t differentiate between albums at all anymore and a lot of times even between songs. I l

Love them! Fantastic, feel-good, throw back music. Paul still sounds stellar. The debut is the best for me by far. Drive comes in second but it has one of my favorite songs they have done on it (Love Doesn’t Live Here Anymore). I am with Don, Zokusho was a let down for me. I like it but it is my least favorite of the three.

They have grown on me and I am sure will continue to. They were just not as immediate as most of the singles were for me.

I love the singles from the album but the rest of it just doesn’t do as much for me, though it has grown on me some since its release. Personally I think their best albums are All Turns Red (their heaviest) and Sju. Of course they have good songs all through their career and I always like some from each album but those two are mostly very strong records for me.

Rick Springfield, Sammy Hagar, Richard Marx, Jimmy Barnes. All good reads for me. Ones I did not care for were Sebastian Bach and Michael Sweet. Desmond Child’s was good but I was hoping for a bit more from it.

Early 90s for me. I like a song here and there since then but to me mainstream pop really took a dive after the 80s, though I do like some of the stuff from the likes of Mariah, Celine and Whitney that released in the 90s. The most recent pop artist I like some stuff from is Pink, and she released her first album 24 years ago so hardly a new artist. Well, I don’t mind some of Kelly Clarkson’s

Agree with you both. Very good album as Andrew said but I also feel like it is missing the big melodic numbers we heard in The Heart Of Everything and The Unforgiving, which I think are their two best records.

CJ said on Trunk’s podcast that he understood both sides of the issue, as far as recording new music, but by far most people don’t care about new music and only want to hear the old hits so it didn’t make a whole lot of sense to record new material. Also he said that he and Bill were into different styles now and he is not sure how things would come across were they to write again. Not exac

A Tribe Called Quest was a hip hop group back in the ‘90s, so obviously well deserving of being nominated for the RNR HOF. I agree, music hall of fame, it has little to do with rock n roll anymore.

I don’t think the song itself sounds too bad. As others have said, obviously not on par with his back catalogue but not awful. The vocals however… I will listen to the album and no doubt it will have some songs I will like but I am much more looking forward to the new box set and hoping it has some of the outtakes from previous albums I have heard that are quite good as well as some other

The Young Guns soundtrack was Jon at his peak vocally I think. I would strongly argue that Santa Fe is the best studio vocal the man ever laid down, also a hell of a great tune.

I would say classic albums are ones that helped to shape/define a genre and era of music. I don’t think it has to do with personal taste when you are talking what is considered a classic record in general terms. For example, I love Boston’s debut, I despise Nirvana’s Nervmind but I would consider both to be classic albums. Just my two cents.

I saw that Ted Poley posted a picture of a wall that contained a sign that read “Radiology” and he had written “Tough week… Wish me luck.” I searched the board but found nothing mentioning anything about him. Wishing him all the best in whatever he is going through.

I agree, the book was a disappointment. I was really wanting more stories about the music and artists he worked with. Bat 3, while certainly not on the same level as the first two, is not too bad. I think it is worth it just for Blind A Bat which is one of my favorite songs Meat did. The opening track, The Monster’s Loose, is not too shabby either and was written by John5, Desmond and Nik

Agreed. I think you ticked off all of the boxes there. I am sure there are multiple factors why they, and others, didn’t make it big. With regards to the bands you named in my opinion, while they all had good music, they were all lacking that one song that would have catapulted them into stardom.

I have seen Richard with a full band and just acoustic. I have seen him do an entire show just standing there with a guitar or at the piano and no one else. Definitely a talented guy, as is anyone that can pull that off as you are just completely naked up there not only vocally but also with your guitar/piano playing. His catalogue of songs he has written for others is impressive as well and runs
