I haven’t listened to it in a long time Terry, but from what I remember it sounded like a Beau Hill, ultra sterile type mix. The drums on the title track sounded like something from a mid career Prince song, if I recall correctly. It doesn’t sound like a Keith Olsen type record that’s for sure. Night Ranger lessened with each subsequent album that wasn’t produced by Pat Glasser, in my

I totally agree about the production going slightly the wrong way from 7 Wishes onward. The drum sound suffered greatly and I much prefer the production on the first two albums to subsequent ones. As you say, the songs on 7 Wishes are stellar but the production isn’t that great (Goodbye aside).

Well, to me at least, the phrase “if ya can’t be bothered..” would suggest something different.

I agree, but the poster said that the drums were ‘hardly heard’ but the drums are front and centre to these ears.

It’s by no means my favourite of theirs, but I can’t agree about the production. Sure, it’s glossy…but it sounds fine to me.

Their Greatest Hits album is a fucking monster. But that’s all I really need.

I’m with Preacher here. That was just okay and they are capable of much better. It reminds me of Fountains Of Wayne actually.

That was superb. Far, FAR, better than I had initially expected. I love the fact that they kept it completely faithful to the original and it’s also really evident that each of them, as musicians, were fully stretched. Covering Rush is no easy feat and this cover was exceptional. Nice work.

I’m not a fan of Ozzy era Sabs at all, bar a song here and there.

They preceded Keane by a good few years, mate. To me they’re nothing alike, Keane are a straight forward pop band and Embrace are rock.

It’s all 99% luck. That book, by the way, wasn’t anywhere near as good as I’d hoped.

It doesn’t get better than Jane. It’s lightning in a bottle. I tried to listen to the rest of FaPZ just a few days ago…and after Jane it falls off the proverbial cliff. As Daredevil said, Jane is pretty much a perfect melodic rock song. Nothing else of theirs (imo) comes close.

It doesn’t help that I’m not a huge fan of prog rock, Carl. I tried many times to get into It Bites, and I owned TBLitW, but they never connected with me.

I wanted to like them, I really did. But to me they were a band that never let a good song get in the way of self indulgence.

I saw the tour at Earl’s Court on my birthday (June 16th) and it was fantastic. I’m looking forward to this release. The support from Deon Estus, who was the bass player in his backing band, was dreadful unfortunately.

Always good to see a fellow Evertonian here…unless that refers to the Old Firm, of course.
