I disagree, although I do see the point you’re making…I haven’t outgrown anything. I honestly think the band has regressed and got worse lyrically. As another poster said, the first couple of albums were great. The video to Death to All but Metal was genius, especially at the end with the trying to explain it’s not butt metal. That was first class, on the nose humour that had intelligence

I’d have taken a point before the game, Carl…but, after being 3-1 up I definitely agree with you in being disappointed. Moyes bringing on subs in added time probably cost us the win. However, what has infuriated me is our recent habit of losing to teams we should be beating.

Well, in all honesty this song and 2XS, the album it’s from, aren’t indicative of Nazareth as a whole. My personal starting place would be the ‘Hair Of The Dog’ and then ‘Rampant’ albums. These are much more blues based 70’s hard rock. HotD is, in my opinion, their best and most consistent album. Their live album “It’s ‘Naz” is worth a listen too. 2XS is a good album

Why Can’t This Night Go On Forever is absolute perfection. Schon’s guitar after the first verse just tears your heart out. Completely agree about Steve Perry on the album. He’s otherworldly.

Definitely prefer it over Frontiers as well, mate. Escape is one of my ‘time and place’ albums, so it’s etched deep in there, but as I’ve got older I find myself really disliking the bass sound on it. Sonically, at least for my tastes, RoR is infinitely superior to Escape but I can’t say I prefer it…however, I like it every bit as much.

After Escape I found Frontiers to be a let down. RoR was a step up in every department. I know I’m in the minority, but Frontiers never really fully connected and I don’t like the production. Separate Ways sounds great but the rest was a little thin.

Ooh…Survivor dipped in 1986? Personally I completely agree, but I know lots here that really rate When Seconds Count. There’s no denying that commercially those bands did suffer with the change in musical climate and the onset of G’n R. Certain bands from the very early 80’s struggled to make the journey into the mid to late 80’s.

I don’t know what the sales figures were, but the band were pretty well hyped by Kerrang in this country. No, they didn’t achieve anything by usual standards, but plagiarism is plagiarism.
