How much fun was that..... Got tickets to the one day international at Chester-Le-Street next week. can only hope for good weather, good beer and a similar drubbing of our Aussie cousins... 18 years is way too long a wait to give the baggie green cap wearers a good old fashioned thrashing...

Gogmagog released an EP that was really only demo versions of songs that the band had prepared. Jonathon King (who was responsible for putting the band together in the first place) lost interest in the concept so I believe and hence it was shelved without fully reaching any of the potential it had. If we are talking about Maiden offshoots I always liked the Lionheart album 'Hot Tonight' which fe

I would definitely recommend the ASAP album, which was called Silver & Gold btw. The style of the album is somewhat akin to the Adrian Smith sung Iron Maiden song 'Reach Out' which was the B side of the Wasted Years single and is certainly more AOR orientated than any of Smith's Maiden work. Smith contributes vocals and guitar to the record, but also attracted some seriously good players to

Totaly agree that the second album, which is 'Welcome To The World' is better than the first, although both are worth checking out. Got to say though that opening track 'The Last Chain' has a riff and melody that is very similar in places to Anthrax's State of Europhia. The vocalist on the second album, Andy Makin, also did a better job IMHO than Solli did on the first album. Now what would be

My first real exposure to rock music came through Queen around '79 when some kid brought in a copy of 'The Game' to play in class. I spent a good deal of the next two or three years worshipping Brian May and pursuading the parents to buy up any and all of the Queen albums they could afford. Queen I - Shear Heart Attack hardly ever left my record deck. A couple of years later as an innocent 12 ye

Absolutley... innuendo and all that... much funnier this way even if it partly at my own expense. Could have mentioned playing around 18 holes as well, but didn't want to lower the tone too much

Aaah but peanuts are still cheaper than the snakebites we would have had to 'shell' out for had we outsourced the review to those weird cnutists in the Floridians. Have you seen the price of rattlesnakes these days?

I also seem to recall that there was originally going ot be nine films as well. The final three, that I guess will never be made now, were to be Episodes VII - IX set after Return Of The Jedi. I fugure given that Lucasfilms have allowed so many books to be written set after Return it would be pretty pointless making the films as the storylines would be difficult to pen so as not to contradict t

Would be interested to know if anyone has picked up the Frameshift album 'Absence of Empathy'. I have been looking all over Newcastle for this and can't find it anywhere and Amazon are quoting a 4-6 week delivery time for it. Is it worth getting ans how does Seb Bach sound on what I have seen described as a 'progressive' album

Woody, cheers. Unfortunately I have tried that already. Even went back to JB's yesterday and went through all of the rubish bags the venue had collected on the day. (Yuck!!!) All to no avail.... The photos that I have got from the evening (D2 only, so apologies to Pride and Deadline fans) are now online at the website.
