I agree that tour cancellations are a pain in the neck, especially where lost booking fees, travel and hotel costs are incurred. However it really is a catch 22 situation. For the promoter, if pre-sales on tickets aren't decent, then running the risk of carrying on with the show and depending on walk ups to make your money potentially means that the promoter will make a financial loss, and that

CM is definitely more of a metal label than say a Frontiers or an Escape etc but still got some great bands signed to them, Firewind being the obvious example. To be honest though BBABH are only influenced to a certain extent by the 80's sound not totally in hock to it...

I do believe that at one point Adrian himself was considered for the Leppard job after Steve Clarke died. So I was told the only reason that he didn't pick up the slot was because of his association with Maiden and the rest of Leppard were worrie about the way it would play out in the press etc. He probably would have fitted into Leppard perfectly as that was always Adrian's style of music of ch

Absolutely superb album, but then again most of the stuff Arjen is involved with is top drawer. And talking of Ayreon, Inside Out Music have kindly given us half a dozen t-shirts to give away to commemorate the release of the album so if you fancy grabbing one head over to hardrockhouse.com for details...

Indeed the press release I got from the UK PR company included the following: "Legendary front man, David Coverdale, says, “The new album contains all the elements I enjoy about Whitesnake, and more. I can hear moments that take me back to the bluesy, early years of the band all the way through the band's musical history to fully embrace the more electric aspects of where we are now, as

Andy I think you've got every right to be pissed off. The official press release issued by Thin Lizzy's PR firm just after Queensryche pulled out was as follows: "To celebrate 30 years since the recording of the classic live album 'Live And Dangerous', Thin Lizzy is excited to announce that they will be playing the full album sequentially and in its entirety during their forthcoming Novembe

Came across this one today, equally as stupid... LONDON (Reuters) - A man has been convicted of racially aggravated harassment after calling a Welsh woman English. Michael Forsythe was sentenced to 10 weeks in jail, suspended for 12 months, after being found guilty of racially aggravated disorderly behaviour, a court official said. Forsythe received the sentence at Welshpool Magistrates Court

Frank mentioned the Ben Elton book "Chart Throb" above and it really is a great read and one that, you would suspect, has more than just a grain of truth within it. Generally I neveer watch that much reality TV, but Elton got me watching X Factor just to see if I could pick out which characters fitted into the relevant categorizations that he laid on people. That makes the whole show m

The one good thing about the Pell album is that at least he has gone for songs that are outside of his normal area of operation and the arrangements differ in the main from the originals as well.

Don't want to say too much as I have this album out to someone to review at the minute and should they read this I don't want them to be influenced by my opinion - but it's a little gem. Star of the show is vocalist James Michael, he breathes life into what are some haunting lyrical tales

You know I've thought that. To quote a certain advert it would be priceless to see the other Journey guys 'Shakin' their booty' to the Boogie Knights medley from Jeff's solo shows. Much as I'm pleased for Jeff, and the Journey gig couldn't have gone to a more deserving, and talented, guy I for one am gone miss the relaxed, and humourous atmosphere of his solo shows... Morse, three songs is the normal for gigs these days when you have a photopass. Generally that's so you don't piss off people who've actually paid for tickets. It's something I don't mind at all and to be honest three songs for bands such as Maiden, Leppard, Journey, Toto etc is better than none. The one downer on the City Hall is that there is no photo pit. That makes the job a lot easier...

Hi Morse Was at the Toto show last night, in fact one of the guys who works on our site interviewed Luke prior to the show so that should be online in a couple of days. Agree with you that Journey were better, a lot of that probably has to do with the energy that JSS brings to the party. Sure Luke's guitar playing was truly excellent throughout, but somehow the show, at least for me didn't see
