Didn't Alice already say he had a full album ready to release (not the recent covers EP)? So, is this just to add to that new album, or is this a full on second album? https://www.blabbermouth.net/news/alice-cooper-is-once-again-collaborating-with-hitmaker-desmond-child/ Breadcrumbs EP was released last year Detroit Stories is supposed to be this year So this work on new music for anothe

Shadow Life was different, but I still love it to this day. Slang was different, and it still holds up today. VHIII was different, and I still find it pretty darn good. Megadeth Risk was a change, and still good, but definately not what was expected from Megadeth. It was a difficult time where a lot of bands tried to change their sound, and did, and they kinda hold up decades later, but was a

When III was released, I was really shook. It was hard to get into. But I'm listening to it as I write this, and frankly it's a pretty damn amazing album (save for Without You and Ballot or the Bullet, those two sucked). The rest is pure genious and totally fits the VH sound. I think people are stuck with their old thoughts and memories, especially of that dismal single.

Criss Oliva of Savatage, Oct 17 1993. I had just met him too in August. He was and still is my favourite guitarist. That one got me and still does to this day.

Fading is practically a musical sin. There are only very rare, and I mean really rare circumstances that it makes any sense artistically. You can't fade a real voice singing with a hard crunching guitar, loud drums and bouncing bass...and electronic keyboards? Nope. I've always hated it, and when new albums come out, sometimes that's one of those things that brings me to disappointment in

My problem with Black Swan, is Reb Beach's guitar tone is so weak. Bad Mix for sure. End Machine, great production and performances, but the songs just aren't there. Dirty Shirley? Well, that's almost perfect. Almost. The best of the last three for sure.

Their last 4 albums are the finest of their career. I can't think of any band that has been that consistent NOT at the beginning of their career. Question I've always had though, on the album recordings specifically, does Alex every play any of the rythm guitars? It doesn't sounds so to my ears, and I can't find any interviews where he mentions doing anything other than solos.

Just venting. A long time ago, when mp3s were all the “new” thing, and ipods and such were all coming out, I spent hours upon hours converting my huge CD collection to mp3. Curating the library, and very excited to do so. Fast forward 20 years, I’m listening to some old songs on my iPhone with some wonderful new headphones (and not even anything really high end) and I’m flabbergast

Jon Oliva (Savatage) Tim Kelly (Slaughter) Devin Townsend Pepper Keenan (Corrosion of Conformity) Al Pitrelli Michael Star Jack Frost (Seven Witches) One of the above isn't true. Man, I really haven't talked to lots...oh well. Does it count if the singer of a band gives you the microphone to sing the chorus to a song during a concert? Then add Gary Cherone and Hugh Dillon.

Another amazing album. The "new era" of post 2000 Testament has been a great run. Question for those of you that may know. Does Alex Skolnick actually play on any rhythm at all on the album recordings? It seems to me from what I can from interviews that he does not and only does the solos. Wondering if any one knows for sure (you know, kind of how Kirk Hammett never played any rhyt

They are going to release an album. I love their playing, and I don't care if it's a VH copy, because there isn't a real VH doing anything despite the demand, so all the power to them. Jacob Deraps is a very talented player and singer (check out his youtube, he can do every VH era perfectly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWG1m-3xK9c). I've been ABing Jacob vs EVH recently, and it seems that

Ontario, Canada here. I'm also in the chronic disease risk population. I still go to work, but most places have been shut down. The province has just announced more extreme closure measures. All my kids are now out of work as a result. Panic buying has seemed to drop over the weekend but with the new closures announced, I could see it go back up fast. In my case, I'm not in the least worrie

H.E.A.T. have been around for 12 years, and I was wondering if they are the kind of band that have more songs that remain unreleased, and the chances of us hearing them. I thought Andrew had once said that for "Into the Great Unknown" they had actually recorded 14 songs, and yet only 11 made it out in some form. So there's 3 already.

I'd say that Testament is even better in the last 10 years then their earlier career. But yeah, Testament is still top notch. And same with Harem Scarem, their new stuff is even better. Others: Billy Talent Iron Maiden Joe Satriani Primal Fear

I miss the guy like crazy. Last album, Ain't Life Amazing truly was stellar. Then, no album, no music since 2007. Was a little worried back in 2016 with his heart attack, but he's healthy now so that's great. He has posted that new music is coming and there's a clip on his facebook....wondering if that's just one song or if it will be a whole album. https://www.facebook.com/kimmitchellb

I guess I'm biased, as a fan of VH, and music in general, because I would hope that all music gets released, regardless of how many people are out there to make a market for it. I understand the desire to make money on it, but just sitting on a shelf or hard drive does absolutely nothing for anyone. Making 10, or 1,000 fans happy is better than nothing. Oh well.

What do you really think are the chances that we will ever hear unreleased (even if partially finished) music from Van Halen’s vaults? Given the quality of some very old leaks, there has to be pretty good quality stuff. And what about the music left from the follow up to VH III? I’ve got to believe there is tonnes of stuff sitting around, and it’s a darn shame to think we may never hear
