He was bitching at Europe's guitar tech, who had begun sound checking while Twisted were on stage in Barcelona. The main stages are next to each other and there is a rule about not making noise while the other stage is running. I don't think Dee was out of line in that situation to be fair.

Whilst that's a nice thought, the RAH is over 5000 capacity, and last time Night Ranger played in London it was at an 800 cap room. As good as their recent output has been, I don't think their popularity has increased quite that much in the UK.

I wrote a feature on those shows for Classic Rock AOR... Giant didn't appear as part of the series, but Tuff, The Scream, Warrior Soul, Bang Tango, Badlands, Danger Danger, Shadowking and XYZ did. Valentine, Shooting Star and Cry Wolf were all due to play but all their shows were pulled. Bad English were also on the 'hit list' and a deal was agreed but the band were falling apart at the

I saw them at The Marquee prior to the Def Leppard tour, £1.50 a ticket and £5 a t-shirt (as I recall). Sensational live act.

That was because Mike Stone didn't rate him as a drummer.Stone wanted a drummer that he knew was good in the studio, hence why he called in Steve Smith.

It is quite different to the Elektra version. Totally different mix, different vocal takes on certain songs, different guitar work in places too. It was released as Don Dokken 'Breaking The Chains' (with Don on the cover) and under the Dokken band name on Carrerre. The cover is the same as the Elektra release essentially, except it's purple/white artwork rather than red/white. 'Paris is Burn

In preparation for moving house soon, I've been packing my collection and found a few DVDs I want to get rid of. Stuff includes Waltham (Permission to Film), Lit (All Access), Journey (In Manila), Cinderella (Heartbreak Station tour - in Concert), Paul Stanley (One Live Kiss)... bunch of other things. I'm in the process of putting a list together, if you're interested, drop me a line and I'll

'Bounce' was indeed a single. Admittedly released in 2002 as a US radio only 'single'. It did however get released commercially in Japan as a double A-side with 'Misunderstood'.

750 in for Shadowking (although Steve reckons over the years he's had at least 1500 people tell him they were there)

I wrote a feature on the American Dream series in CR AOR issue 10. Some of the shows didn't happen because of low ticket sales (Cry Wolf being one) and others because of record label politics (Valentine). The only shows Steve remembers selling out were Danger Danger, Bang Tango and Warrior Soul.

The original drummer lined up for this project was Hendrik 'Hempo' Hilden (Trash, Baltimoore, John Norum etc.) but apparently a drunken mishap during rehearsals led to him being sent home and Ken and Mikkey being called in.

The label didn't want this track on the album, in fact they didn't even want the band to record it. Mr. Cooper had to fight them to have it included.

Any sensible offer considered... All are in great condition considering their age. Yes, just reviewed it. I think it's a fantastic record. It's a very melodic, very heavy concept record. The vocals lean more toward clean but Tommy stills roars when he needs to. Here's how Dan Briggs describes the thinking behind it;'Spending the last year immersed in a world of Quadrophenia, Operation Mindcrime, The Wall- as well as Sondheim and Lloyd Webber musicals, Stravinsky and Mussorgsky

They already have a new album out Terry ('Long Road Made Of Gold'), although 'The Search Goes On' (came out last February and was the first to feature former Opeth guy Per Wiberg as a full member)) is definitely an awesome release. Thomas 'Juneor' Andersson has a great voice and is a damn fine guitarist.

Chris Heilmann is in Bernie Torme's band. Greg Ellis has made a very successful career as a session drummer and film music composer. Spencer Sercombe has played in a number of bands since Shark island (including Riverdogs and Bill Ward's band) but not sure what he's up to these days.
