Hi all, I found the posts in this thread to be very amusing, though, because many of them sounded as though they could have been written by me. I think I've tried (and continue to use) many of the ideas that have been suggested here. My wife's tastes in music used to include MHR stuff like Stryper, Dokken, Bon Jovi, etc. as well as AOR stuff like Journey, Foreigner, Styx, etc. She's never bee

My most sincere and heartfelt sympathies go out to all of those who have been touched by this atrocity, particularly those who have lost close personal friends and/or relatives. I will be spending much time in prayer about this, and primarily will pray for healing, both physical and emotional for the people of Spain. May God grant you His peace, which indeed passes all understanding. Sincerely,

...Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!..... I have been working insane hours for the past couple of weeks getting this batch of report cards ready. I've been feeling both exhausted and bummed. When I got home from work today, there was a HUGE pick-me-up waiting for me. It's exactly what the good doctor ordered.

...Simple Plan's "No Pads, No Helmets, Just Balls." Great album full of hook-laden nu-breed material, and I'm sensing that these guys don't take themselves too seriously. Butch Walker's stuff is also pretty fun and witty. Neither is MHR in the traditional sense, but they're both full of catchy, memorable, fun songs with an edge (ie., MHR). I know what you're saying, though. Many tr

Hi all, I just got finished listening to Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger," which is one of three Survivor CDs I own (along with "Greatest Hits" and "Empires"). I really like everything I've heard by them, but know that there's a lot more Survivor stuff out there. I know this band is a real favorite among AOR fans, and I remember enquiring about them a few years back

...including the U.S./Canada exchange rate, along with the duty and the taxes that get slapped on a disc when it crosses the boarder into the Great White North (which, incidentally, is looking very WHITE today!!). From my experience, each CD winds up being somewhere around $35. Ouch!! Oh well, maybe one day.... Cheers, Don NP - Warrant - "Dog Eat Dog"

Hi Rocker, I just wanted to say that I have wrestled with exactly the same problem you've described. Sometimes I make a note of the time and exactly what song is played immediately before or after the song I'm enquiring about. Then I call the radio station and find out about the artist and/or song. Other times, I just try to grab a segment of the lyrics like you did. Put it in quotation mark

...that you're based out of Canada? D*mn, do we ever need a supplier/distributor to make it more practical to get ahold of stuff the MHR labels that are so commonly discussed on this website (ie., MTM, Frontiers, Z, SPV, Kivel, etc.)! Fingers crossed... Don NP - Hoobastank - "The Reason" (BLISS!!!!!!!!!!)

Hi Mats!!!!! (And they say it can't be done! Ha!! I knew you were a closet nu-breed fan. Now you've just gotta give that SR-71 album another shot. :-))) One and a half weeks till report cards are done, my friend! I look forward to writing a book (and getting to that editing you asked me about...). BTW, I am ***STILL*** waiting for a mailing addy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..........................

Howdy y'all, If you do a search, you'll find that these guys have been praised in a couple of prior threads. It's interesting to note that I don't recall reading one negative post about the band/album. That's pretty rare, I'd say. Happy reading. Cheers, Don NP - Cauterize - "So Far From Real"

Hi all, No problem for the info., Brian. Once again, I am sorry it was such a mess. It's report card time right now and it's been a long week (or two). I am seriously sleep deprived right now. Btw, thanks again to Figge for the smiles and support. Yes, it was indeed a golden era. I used to literally get goosebumps and/or butterflies when I walked into a record store because I just knew tha

I'll try to send it on my way home from work. I will, however, remove it from its jewel case. Postage is less that way, as even in a padded envelope, it can go as lettermail. Take care, Don NP - Sha

First of all, thanks Figge for the support. I'm glad my post made at least a little sense. :-) I believe that the band whose singer sounds so much like Dagger's (at least to these ears) was Crystal Ball on their album entitled "In the Beginning." I don't know if you've ever heard this album, but if I remember correctly, there was an almost uncanny resemblance between the two singers

Hi Brian, I have the LP version of this. I can't believe it ever got released in CD format. I certainly never expected that it would. Learning that it did almost gives me hope that some of the other stuff I'd love to get on disc (Pet Hate, s/t album by a Yugoslavian band called Warrior, etc.) might actually become available one day. Anyway, I'm pretty sure that the band was based out of Mon
