Just my opinion but Steve probably would have left the band after they moved into pop ballad territory. Bringing On The Heartbreak & Love Bites were one thing. I couldn't see him on Two Steps Behind.

There's another post about 30 years since Steve Clark & 10 years since Phil Kennemore passed on but I'd be remiss to not mention the 1 year anniversary of the Professor of Percussion Neil Peart leaving us. Neil Peart had a lot of pain in his life with his daughter passing away in an auto accident years ago then his first wife following not soon after then having so little time to enjoy re

Like the Lake albums, love the Wetton albums, did his solo stuff, never liked the Adrian Belew albums. Curious if when it gets to 60 years will there be another remaster of Court since we've had 30th, 40th & 50th. Oddly enough Lizard got a 50th remaster but Poseidon did not. The huge Crimson box sets are also quite awesome.

I'm sure many will go with the Point/Left albums but in addition I'd go with the Elefante Kansas albums Drastic Measures & Vinyl Confessions.

While perusing the Kansas Wiki it stated that Sammy was an 'applicant' to replace Steve Walsh when Steve left to form Streets. God, i wanna hear a demo of Sammy trying to get through 'Point Of Know Return' so bad now.

I guess I'm an Asia purist as I don't want to hear anyone else singing other than John Wetton. Hell, I didn't even like Greg Lake singing for the one Japanese concert after Wetton got booted (who messed up the lyrics to The Heat Goes On even with a teleprompter handy).

Post was more for laughing at so many bands touring with the same name. Ratt starring Bobby Blotzer would have loved to be on that ticket.

I'm sure Atlantic stole enough from them to more than make up with it with the Hollywood accounting. Zeppelin made most of their money from touring and the insane 90% for LZ/10% for promoters of the gate deal that Peter Grant worked out. Even the best the Stones could get was 85/15.

I like both versions of Van Halen. I just treat it as two different bands. Always laughed when Dave said he'd never sing a Sammy tune when, technically, he did twice. Yes, you can say early VH covering Montrose's 'Rock candy' isn't REALLY a Hagar song and that since its been revealed Sammy wrote the music to the song 'Can't Get That Stuff No More' on the Best Of Volume One cd since it was nev

Loved Power. Spirit Of Things not so much. Liked the Elefante records but obv wasn't Kansas prog anymore. Ah, the days when 70's prog bands went (or tried to) go pop in search of the elusive pop hit at the beckoning of record companies. I'll never forget the famous Ahmet Ertegun quote directed at Yes' Chris Squire which went 'We need a hit this time, Christopher, and its on you to do it'.

Always thought it was odd VH was ok with this contract fulfilling album for Geffen but not the greatest hits album Unboxed that was used to pay for his divorce settlement (in the proud tradition of David Gilmour).
