Nice of them to bring in Andy & Warren. Has a reason Warren didn't go to their Rock Hall induction even come to light? He's the first guy to play for Frank Zappa's band to be inducted and I don't think even Zappa is in there.

I think Heartline was all I ever heard from him back in the MTV days. Didn't he form a band with Glenn Hughes?

Probably Firehouse cause they were still getting hits in 1995 after grunge took over.

The talk of the 40th anniversary of Asia's Alpha coinciding with me recently re-reading Martin Popoff's Whitesnake book got me thinking about bands where one album conquers the world (as Asia's debut did) then what is considered failure even if it goes multi platinum but not as good as the previous (As Alpha did). Whitesnake 1987, by accounts of people interviewed for that book, allegedly did

I recall a story that Paul Shortino once applied at his local Tower Records or some similar type store in LA and for experience he wrote 'You probably sold some of my records...' Wish I could recall the book I read that in.

I love Vito. He was a great player and has a smarmy sense of humor living in Brooklyn in his parents house with a Lamborghini in the driveway.

Alpha is a great album but that's because I love the Wetton/Downes songwriting team. Steve Howe got put in a diminished capacity both songwriting and playing wise. That solo on Midnight Sun is a magnificent piece of work.

Funny side note about Bonnet was during his first live show with MSG and completely drunk he decided to pull his little Graham out in view of the audience.

Donn Landee? Thought he fell out with Ed after OU812 (tho Ed in interviews downplayed it saying 'we needed a change...'. Also thought they only had what they recorded and no other songs got finished in either the Roth or Hagar versions. That there's 8 finished songs is quite the surprise. Fun fact. Guess what legendary album Donn Landee was supposed to engineer but had to skip it after a Van H

The book is excellent. Memorials from his family, friends and cohorts. They even reached out to Mandy Meyer who probably hadn't seen John in decades after Astra was recorded. Not surprising was Eddie Jobson didn't get an entry after he screwed JW over on money owed from all the latter day UK band stuff allegedly.

What will you think when bands start franchising the name out? You know Kiss will have multiple bands in the full gear singing to backing tracks touring the world eventually.
