The council offices aren't in Cheddar Gorge are they Gav?! That's where I am right now. I'll do better than pop a cap in his ass, if you like. I'll hurl a hedgehog grenade his way, which flings out hundreds of sharp pointy things. I think he'll get the 'point'.

Ah, you can't beat a good old "my system's better than yours" debate! Personally, I think the Commodore 64 beats the Spectrum into a cocked hat. Saying that, I'm really enjoying "Resistance: Fall Of Man" on the PS3. I've routed the alien scum from York and Manchester, and now I'm fighting through Somerset.

873. Re: Cobra
I thought Mandy Meyer's work on Asia's "Astra" album was great (even though Steve Howe is a brilliant guitar player!)

Darn it! I missed the "odometer" going past 30 million hits on the front page! Anyway, congratulations Andrew. It only seems like 5 minutes ago we were celebrating 20 million hits....

Love Vangelis (especially "Direct", which has a kind of synth rock feel to it). Also Air Supply, Duran Duran, A-ha, and loads of 80's synth acts. Mike Oldfield, Yanni, Gandalf, in the New Age genre. I'll also go along with Johan's suggestion of the "3 Ships" Christmas album by Jon Anderson. I gave it a spin when I put the Xmas tree up yesterday, and his version of "Oh

Yeah, must do that Andy! I work down at Exeter, but Cheshire Oaks is a short stroll from my Mum and Dad's place, so I'm sure I'll be up there for a few drinks over Christmas!

Blimey, you're lucky to live in Chester though Andy. I'm from the scally capital of the Wirral 7 miles down the road....Ellesmere Port!

Niv, I don't think the John Payne Asia CD will have a Roger Dean cover, mainly because Steve Howe is best mates with Roger Dean. That's why the first few Asia CD's and most of the Yes CD's have Roger Dean artwork (not the one's where Trevor Rabin was guitarist, you'll notice....)

I know Steve! I think the worst one I've heard is the Twisted Sister take on "Oh Come All Ye Faithful". It's EXACTLY the same as "We're Not Gonna Take It" but with the Christmas carol's lyrics, and a few sleigh bells tossed in. Probably took 'em 5 minutes....

Never really liked his stuff, but I have to agree with his views on music critics and music in the UK today..... "The singer, who was born Declan Patrick MacManus in Paddington, London, castigated British music fans for their lack of imagination and for refusing to listen to records produced by older musicians. "A lot of good new bands still come out of England but I just don't feel

Agreed about Threshold. Wasn't that familiar with them, except for Damian Wilson, who I saw do a solo acoustic show about 10 years ago, and was well impressed by. However, Friday's show by them fell short of the mark. Friday night's highlights for me were definitely Soul Doctor, and Stormzone (pity I missed the beginning)...

The Strathdon Hotel? OK Niv, that's off my list....along with The Travelodge in central Nottingham, which I gave a 2nd chance to this year (because of its relative cheapness) but no more! I'm pushing the boat out and going to the Crown Plaza next year.......(if Nottingham be where it be......)

I don't know if it's a secret or not Chris - I think it is just a rumour right now. If it IS a secret, I'd better make an anagram! "Nevik Fahltanc"....

Awesome show indeed - and some interesting rumours at breakfast in the hotel about who might be lined up for FF5! Well done to Kieran and everyone else involved for finally getting the payback of a enthusiastic full house. Highlights for me were Valentine, Tyketto and FM. I was just blown away by Hugo's voice, and I've just watched the video I made of them again before I put it on Youtube, and e

Yeah, I mentioned on another thread that Steve Murphy, the drummer with Company Of Wolves, is the drummer for the Alan Parsons Live Project now....and a damn fine job he does too. http://www.murphonics.com/bio.htm

Really impressed with what I've heard so far (just got it yesterday). Need to let the tracks sink in before I write down my final thoughts.. Thanks Andrew for the really speedy service, and a great job as usual on the presentation side. Like Hugo's comments about his track - poor old Gerard; I'd be gutted too!!

Thanks for the reply Ted. I've got everything Yes has ever done too - I'd be quite happy listening to Jon Anderson singing the phone book. It's kind of a pity really that Trevor Rabin is making so much money from soundtracks these days (although he probably doesn't think so!), or else we might get another solo album out of him. It's been waaayy too long since "Can't Look Away", although
