I think the best stuff Howe did was on the Yes "Relayer" album from '74. Don't think I've ever heard guitar tones like that since.

Yeah Niv, just what Robin says. You MUST get the live DVD from Madrid. Absolutely awesome!! In fact, as APP was and is more popular in Europe than the UK, I've had some great city breaks in Barcelona and Amsterdam following them on tour. Buy it - you won't regret it! You can get it from here (PAL version)... http://www.alanparsonsmusic.com/

I've got all the APP reissues so far, just waiting for "Ammonia Avenue", "Eve", and "Gaudi" to come out ("Eve" was never my favourite, but I need it for completion!) These reissues are a great price too, and I like the liner notes, but how come the lyrics have disappeared? Also, on the "Pyramid" reissue, I was fully expecting to hear an extended

Don't forget "Ammonia Avenue" by The Alan Parsons Project, Chessie. Also, The Adventures, "The Sea Of Love" album is 80's poptastic, and very like The Outfield, I reckon. There's also Ben Orr and Ric Ocasek's solo albums from 85/86. In fact, there's probably loads I could think of, but I'm not in a thinking mood right now....

Oh-oh, Looks like Chris Squire has been talking too much to Neal Schon (well, he did disappear backstage for Journey's last London gig), and Yes have got a temporary 'Arnel'....... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7609952.stm

I thought I'd read somewhere that Glass Tiger had reformed? But in the same vein, hopefully The Outfield will get back together....

Well, I must be really shallow, and I reckon (like Chessie) I must have a thing about pyramids, but I bought Asia, "Alpha", and The Alan Parsons Project, "Pyramid", blind based on such eyecatching album art, and I'm certainly glad I did. 'course, sometimes it doesn't work, like when I bought Bo Hanssen's "Lord of the Rings", based on the subject matter, and Rodney M

Yeah, the problem is Shade is that there's too many bands with the name "Paradise". It gets bloomin' confusing!

I was hoping it'd be like The Darkness minus Justin Hawkins vocals. Unfortunately, from what I've heard, it's not.

I love this album Andy. I had to stop playing it in the car though - I kept going faster everytime it was on (especially "Love Surgery" - great hi-tech AOR)!

The only one I used to get completely wrong was Simple Minds, "Don't You Forget About Me"..... ...."think of the terrapins, that we've been working on."

Ah yes! "Top Of The World" from Jon's "In The City Of Angels" album was a great track! Didn't realise it was Steve Lukather playing at first - then I heard about JA singing backing vocals on Tot's "Can't Stop Loving You". They must have been both in the same studio making albums at the same time.

Good post Figge. As Mark Steel once said... "Website forums, which promised unprecedented global debate and discourse all seem to degenerate into the same nine people slagging each other off, like Eastenders with exclamation marks. There's probably a forum for astro-physicists, in which every thread ends with someone calling themselves Black Hole posting "So - Quantum Boy upholds the p

What's everyone's worst song lyrics? For me, it's got to be "The Final Countdown". With Venus having a temperature of over 450 degrees C, a crushing surface pressure 90 times that of Earth, a runaway greenhouse effect, and clouds of sulphuric acid, the chances of Mr Tempest and his chums "standing tall" are remote in the extreme, and the chances that "they've seen us, an

Hmm, I got a pair of Sennheisers Coco, to listen to Steve Price while washing up at the weekend. Trouble is, they're rubbish (well, my pair are anyway). There's some interference noise when you turn your head from side-to-side (these are RF, not infra-red), and they just don't go loud enough before distorting. Sennheiser have a good reputation, so I don't know if it's just a rogue pair I've got

Thanks all. According to their 'helpful' automated phone service, they're still awaiting the tickets from the promoter (for the Liverpool Arena show). They'd better get a move on that's all I can say! Bruce, I didn't get an option to print my own tickets for my order. Whether this was just for that particular gig I'm not sure...

I know this is still a bit early, but has anyone got their tickets for the July Whitesnake/ Def Lep UK gigs yet? I don't know why Ticketmaster have to hold on to 'em for so long, and I'm a bit worried as I won't be home for the week before the gig. How long did people have to wait to get their tickets for the June dates? Thanks!
