First listen under my belt. Magnum have been my #1 band since 1988...... Love almost everything TC has ever written, from KOM/MII in the 70s to the mighty Wings Of Heaven in '88 to GLA/Sleepwalking in the 90s to Visitation/13th Day/Shadow Garden in more recent years............... The Serpent Rings? THE SERPENT F'IN BREAKS THE DOOR DOWN!! What an absolutely, utterly, all round, top

Hmmm, might just have to roll up to the Chicago date on July 31st! I MUST hear Final Countdown live at least once in my life! Kansas are awesome even in their current line up, so seeing them is never a poor choice. Never been a huge Foreigner fan, but still I'm sure I'll enjoy the show.

I've never considered myself to be a huge Rush fan, but once a year or so the only thing that works is playing Permanent Waves on repeat for a few days. His take on life seems to have been different than mine, but in his lyrics I still see the same beauty and struggle and fear and hope that runs through me. He wrote for the brain as well as the heart, and will be missed.

Nice enough generic sounding ballad. Both Ozzy & Elton have done much, much better stuff, but I suppose if they were going to meet, it would have to be somewhere like this! Edit to say: OK on second listen this is a lot better than my above comment suggests! Really excellent track.

Love it! As good as the best on LOTRTE (WTTCC) and overall the most fully 'Magnum' song they've done for a long time! Everything from KOM to Vigilante to the modern era has been baked into the mix, and it sounds wonderful. I like Not Forgiven, but I LOVE this one. 11/10

Hmmm... I think I bought Time Honoured Ghosts -- Barclay James Harvest and Point Of Know Return -- Kansas at the same time. Even better than EIEE & BITUSA!

Barclay James Harvest have a song (gentle orchestral ballad) called Galadriel, and also released a single (When The City Sleeps, backed with an instrumental called Breathless) under the name Bombadil... But nothing lyric wise that is really directly about Hobbit/LOTR.

Thanks everyone for these lists! My amplifier recently bit the dust, so I'm making more use of my Amazon Prime membership and an amazing number of these albums (in full or part) are included for me to listen to online. Enjoying some Terry Brock at the moment - haven't listened to him since Native Sons, and boy is his voice as good as ever.

A Merry & Blessed Christmas to all from shockingly mild Chicago! It's close to breaking the record for the warmest Dec 25. May 2020 be everything you wish for. May there be lights, music and even dancing if you like that sort of nonsense. Here's something to dance to..... Magnum - On Christmas Day

Not quite sure... Got my first CD player in '89, and I seem to recall that my first memorable (as opposed to the cheapest compilation or whatever I could find) CD purchase could have been either Water Sign (Chris Rea) or Local Hero (Mark Knopfler). Love both of those albums to this very day!

It's cool to see Andrew digs Magnum's most recent (for a few weeks at least) release Lost On The Road... I personally find quite a few of their other 'reunion' albums to be better, with The Visitation fighting for overall top spot with the Ancient Ones from centuries ago! But LOTRTE is still a fine album with a couple of Clarkin Klassics. Currently playing More Than The Moon by Station thanks

Springsteen achieved his status through sheer hard work and dedication... Plus a little boost from his socio-political views and jaded but still patriotic worldview. He rightly became THE American rock n roll icon in the 80s, and ultimately it really didn't matter how strong his albums were after a while. Me? I think he's a musical and lyrical genius, and his presentation of the weariness yet

Very few albums reach that level for me. Even my long list of favorites have things about them that I think could be better. Here are some that I genuinely wouldn't change anything about: Dire Straits ‎– Love Over Gold Chris Rea - Water Sign Runrig ‎– The Cutter & The Clan Demon - Breakout White Heart - Tales Of Wonder
