991. MAGIC
The Rising is excellent but my favourite Bruce record on this side of the millenium is Magic from 2007. Stellar collection of songs, some among the best he had ever written. Long Walk Home especially is one of my favourites. Working On A Dream has some good tracks but is overall not as good as Wrecking Ball, Magic or The Rising.

Okay this album has been about the only thing in my headphones for almost a month. Simply stunning! Anyone else dig this CD? Lovely folk influences and as usual, Bruce has written some fantasic lyrics. Plenty of highlights to choose from; Jack Of All Trades (when the horn section comes in... Chills!) Shackled And Drawn, Wrecking Ball, the magnificent Death To My Hometown (best lyric of the yea

Chinese Democracy is a masterpiece. Myles is a great singer but he doesn't have the same attack and power that Axl does.

Haven't heard it yet but loved Livin' On The Run. Can't stand the bland, generic and cliché lyrics but the musicianship is excellent and Erik is an absolutely outstanding singer.

Shame, would have love to see Queen+Adam Lambert. Wonder if they are still doing the warm-up date in Moscow? Queen could easily do Hyde Park like they did in 05 if they want another gig. Queen+AL, Foo Fighters and The Darkness.. How is that for a mini-festival line-up ;)

Some singers have aged really well. You've got vocal wonders like John Farnham and Paul Rodgers who sound absolutely unbelievable for their age. Bob Catley is 64 and still sounds great, Steven Tyler is past 60 as well and sings better now than he did a few years ago. I think both luck and care factors in to it. And singers who sing high intensity stuff and lack proper technique will eventu

Dug out this criminally underrated CD today and have been listening to it while out walking in the wonderful weather. What a stunning CD. Crisp production and superb musicianship. Very timeless quality to it. Stormy Weather - Atmospheric opener. Great lyrics, stellar bass and guitar work. I won't win but I can fight... Too Much To Ask - Nice and enjoyable, but falls flat in the fierce comp

Agree, cool title. Can not wait for this album, Magnum is my favourite band and never disappoint. The Visitation was amazing and the new songs on Evolution were superb. Especially Do You Know Who You Are.

The most overlooked member in Queen simply because he didn't have a great voice like the other three, but what bass lines he laid down. The Millionaire Waltz is just astounding. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wGPqr6CYRQ Wrote some amazing songs as well. You're My Best Friend, Another One Bites The Dust, Spread Your Wings...

In my opinion, I can, but that is beside the point. Just because I am not the president of America, doesn't mean I can criticize what Obama does, if we're drawing comparisons. The lyrics are dull and cliché. Again, this is just my opinion. The song is nice and Erik sings great but lyrically, I can't get behind it at all. EDIT: Absolutely love Living On The Run though. No lyrical masterpiec

It is an amazing concert. I am seeing Bruce twice this summer, he is second to none as a live performer. I will miss Clarence, had the pleasure of seeing him with Bruce in Stockholm in 2009... Jungleland was a religious experience.

Tis a melodic rock board we're on, one would assume lyrics about cars, sex, women and rock n' roll would be popular :P

"Someone built a wall in Berlin... Not to keep them out but to keep them in" - from Need A Lot Of Love, Magnum. Tony Clarkin writes superb lyrics. "Once I made you rich enough, rich enough to forget my name" - Youngstown, Bruce Springsteen. "If love is blind I guess I'll find myself a cane" - Locomotive, GNR. Lyrics by Axl Rose. My three favourite lyrics wri

As per his manager and he tweeted himself he was sick as a dog... And it is obvious when you listen, if you've heard the earlier shows of the tour.

The exclusive deal with Best Buy actually recovered the recording costs before it came out. And the number 5 million came from Universal Music, but there is some doubt as to what number is the proper one. At least 3.5 million, tops around 5.0, real numbers probably somewhere in between.
