Another solid tune, Waterside has been in heavy rotation in my Spotify-list since it came out. I know his voice can be an acquired taste because it's not your typical rock tenor but I like it a lot.

Well said MSL. I don't think anyone can dispute the talent of Gary Barlow. Music isn't about pitting people against each other. There are some really good sessions in the series, especially enjoyed the recent one with Rod Stewart when they did Rhythm Of My Heart. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jpJBcY9jQM& Take That have released some corking albums since their comeback. Great melod

I saw Queen + Paul Rodgers at Wembley Arena in 2008 and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen. I agree The Cosmos Rocks had some good tunes. I also loved Axl with AC/DC.

Phil's son Nicholas is drumming. Phil unfortunately can't play anymore.

I love We Can't Dance too! The deeper cuts are great, but the 'hits' are terrific songs too. Jesus He Knows Me and No Son Of Mine, both great tunes.

I love all eras of Genesis. One of my all-time favourite bands. Wish I could see them on tour, hoping for a blu-ray. Doubtful it's gonna go ahead in September already but we'll see.

Came across this today. A song for the times. Really dig it. John sounds great still, 75 years young. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ODrkRdwb3k

I understand singers lose their range because they get older, that everyone has to face sooner or later. But Bon Jovi's voice is really unpleasant on the ears, his technique is terrible. He's got this nasal, twangy tone which just doesn't sound good at all.

Big fan of Gary Hughes but always found his solo albums to be his weakest output. But this I quite like, a bit more adventurous than I expected. Really dig the modulation at 2:55.

Lyrics are very important. One of the reasons Magnum is my favourite band. Wouldn't know a 'new' band though. As much flak as TEN gets sometimes, I also think Gary Hughes has the ability to write really interesting lyrics when he wants to.

That's a good tune. Reminds me of some of the Avantasia songs Jorn has sung on.

Dire Straits - Sultans Of Swing (live) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Pa9x9fZBtY& Everything about that performance is just incredible. Knopfler of course, but the drumming is especially amazing!

It's just silly humor. No need to take it so seriously. I haven't seen Spinal Tap in 15 years but regardless of the objective quality of the film, it is important to be able to laugh at yourself.

Anyone got this record? Came out about a month ago. (Keyboardist Mark Kelly from Marillion with a band)) It's well-crafted, melodic prog with a vocalist that sounds quite like Peter Gabriel at times. Some really good guitar solos too. Great audio production. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRrs0WwOx_g&

The production on a lot of TEN albums is pretty shoddy, yes. But it has been a lot better since they went to Frontiers for Stormwarning onwards and Dennis Ward mixing. Babylon is my favourite TEN-record.

Cool. Last two TEN albums have been really good, Gary seems to be on a roll. Still listen frequently to the three Bob Catley-albums he wrote.

Might not be to taste of everyone here but in my opinion Taylor Swift is a great songwriter, not just a run of the mill pop persona. She already released one of the best albums of the year in Folklore, which echoed Springsteen's Nebraska. Now yesterday she released another album out of the blue called Evermore and it might be even better. Atmospheric & intimate and a stunning set of lyrics

Yes it is a different record for sure, Polydor wanted Magnum to break in America so they put Tony Clarkin together with prolific songwriters like Jim Vallance and Russ Ballard in an effort to increase the mainstream appeal. Timing-wise 1990 was a bit too late for this effort and the co-written songs are among the weakest on the album. It does have some great tunes, Only A Memory and Shoot esp

Tony Clarkin worked with American songwriters for Magnum's Goodnight L.A but that meant leaving off some of his own tunes, and they are proper bangers: Hanging Tree - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2p0CBZRPr1k& Where Do You Run To - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIDuZ49JUm0 Both should've been on the album.

Not very good. Roger's three solo albums are superb however. The debut is a classic and Open The Door from 2000 is one of the most overlooked records ever. It's a wonderful album.
