Listened to it loud via the iTunes file, and it’s way better than that YT post. Great production again. It’s a Hendrix-ish bluesy funky spin on the song. I don’t mind it.

Viv is a more “vulnerable” person to the virus, so no doubt they’ve got Steve on standby in case Viv has to bail out if he fell ill.

The US MIX of UFO’s Misdemeanor is quite good. They took out some of the keys and push the guitars a little more in places. It’s still bathed in reverb, but it’s not bad. Some of the drums sound a little less electric in places.

From the SCOTT era - Down Payment Blues. From the Johnson - Guns For Hire Both FLICK and FLY has some great songs marred by bad mixes. PLEASE remix them.

Yeah, Paul was more into the jam, he loved to just play and see where it went. We had a jam once in his kitchen, and when I stopped he said “never stop, just find the note in your head and use it...take it somewhere. Just flow”. Schenker is a brilliant accurate machine of a player. He’ll play the same notes every night with pin point accuracy. Paul was more of a “free form” player. But

This is sadly true folks. Paul is family. Terrible news. He is again with the love of his life Debbie. We’ll all miss you Paul. Such an energetic and funny man. Brilliant musician and played professionally since his teens! I’ll never forget some of the times and nights out in Cardiff, London and your home in Florida. Toodle Pip mate.

The song is ok, but I had to stop listening after a minute or so. The vocals have no restraint. I was worn out before the song was half way through. Pity the producer didn’t ask the singer to use some dynamics in his delivery.

It’s a classic example of an embellished old demo. They’ve probably kept the original parts that suited a decent sonic release for these times, and put new tracks on / in place of those that weren’t quite there. Remixed and mastered it. Not sure why some want to tear it down straight off fo the bat. I’m a fan, I’m certainly not expecting any of it to match anything post BTC. It would

It lacks the “feel”...in every way of the original, not just the infamous Sax line that sounds to clipped and mechanical. Perhaps this is one of those songs that simply cannot he covered as it’s too iconic as it is.

I am sure most of you "fans" know that Sabu Dastagir was his Dad. Infamous young Hollywood actor in the 30's-50's that was the Elephant Boy and Jungle Book actor, amongst others.

Of the "reunion years" albums...as far a the vocals sound, it's the best. There are some horrendous vocal mixes (echoey reverbs)on the previous two, that totally kill the songs. But Defying G suffers in that the guitar in some places sound almost mute. It just needs a remix to..my ears..to balance it out and sharpen it up. BUT..nevertheless, it is my fave of the second era albums.

I like it. It has their sound. I know it would go down better (amongst the masses) here if it sounded sonically like HEAT or Harem Scarem, but in one way..thank god it doesn’t and there’s still some rawer rock old school rock which is a little warts and all. They are a bit like RATT in that sense. That kind of abrasive sound suits them better than trying to go the “lush” layered approach.

I’d say BENT OUT OF SHAPE as it’s the one where things started to really click for the new era of the band. I guess you could say, DP’s SLAVES AMD MASTERS was the next progression for JLT/GLOVER/BLACKMORE. Great album and quite underrated.

There is a new NOTORIOUS album in the can. Not sure what the plan with it is though. Robin was also in the frame for the THIN LIZZY comeback. His writing and friendship with Lynott, lead to him asking Robin to work with him a Scott on a reformed band. Whether they got into a room as band, I don't know. But Robin and Phil had certainly decided it was going to happen...and the rest is (no pun) hist

It’s a good record. I align it with the other 3 or 4 studio albums that came out before UNITED, which really was a step up coming hot on the heel of the “Mood Swings”re-recordings. I’ve found after several week, there’s about 4 tracks I skip...but it’s a good album.

One of the best recommendations I’ve seen on here in a while. Sounds like something that could’ve followed the SPILT MILK album music. I’m sold, I’m in. Love it.

This is just the start folks; as the USA announced a 30 day travel ban, NO flights into the US from mainland EU. I’m also hearing that people that have travelled via mainland EU won’t be allowed in. All these tours are being cancelled for good reason, as such travel bans will no doubt get extended to include other countries. Right now, routing a tour is out of the window and many more Tour

UNITED was a real return to form. I think hot off of the re-recorded MOOD SWINGS had an influence on its greatness. This new one, CTW is good, but it’s on a par with most of their other Frontiers releases in that it’s a great slab of MelRock from seasoned pro’s. But there’s a little bit of auto-pilot to a good half of the record. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still way better than most st

Really good album. Everyone delivers on it. With Robin, I think it’s all about the songs, and these push him vocally and he sounds really good. Perhaps his best vocals. Pilson is turning into a really good producer. No complaints here. Once again, the genres “vets” show the newbies how it is done.

Wasn’t he doing some acoustic stuff with M Schenker? They were working on a vocal version of a selection of tracks from his Thank You records. It went quiet on that so maybe it didn’t happen as planned.

I would love to hear FOTS and FOTW given a really good remix. Great records, some really good songs...just fell short on the mixes in some depts. But yeah, I still like them. SNOWBALLED was always a great song. TBH, I think FTATR was a really good record, a couple of tracks could’ve maybe been a little faster tempo!? But it’s really good album that was destined to never match the commerci

SYKES signed to them with a “completed” record. For whatever reason, nothing has been done with it. Is it the label or is it him that’s the problem? It seemed a year or so ago, he was “ready”, and Carmine and Tony had been approached. Then crickets. I can only guess as good as you guys. Why he hasn’t gone with FRONTIERS who at least will do something is odd.

I made the “error” once in the past. The discs were supposedly licensed to Russian labels, but the overall quality was not up too standard and suspect bootleg. As for the Russians selling rare OOP Jap stuff, that’s also a little..I believe..scam they’ve cottoned onto. There was a bunch of supposed UFO mini LP issue CDs via one seller, and a mate bought all the post 1985 LPs up to the m

You are correct, the painting of old farmer couple. The cover makes sense and is quite cheeky (considering the band name) when you know the original art.
