Kieran, I'd love to see Vaughn again. Do they come anywhere near London? I have to see, I started my own company and am busy as hell. But I'd love to see you guys again! Peter

Well, the main problem with "Open" is the mix. The band members themselves stated that the album sounded a lot heavier in an earlier mix. On an different note: Chris von Rohr recently released his second book, this time dishing out the dirt on Gotthard. "Bananenflanke" (a soccer term for a bended pass) is not nearly as funny as his first book, but still worth reading - if yo

Hi Kieran, I don't think it's a conspiracy, it's simply economics. If for some reason Poison were to become hip again, you can bet your ass that Kerrang! would cover them. The same goes for for MTV and other media outlets. As we all know, a band needs to have so much more than just a good record. It's the hip image, looks, etc. And that's what most AOR/Hardrock acts simply no longer have. Sad bu

Tony, You're absolutely right. Kerrang! is a commercial publication that needs to cover whatever is popular with the kids - or else they go out of business or become a specialized mail order mag. The thing I get tired of hearing is the assumpiton that they - among other media outlets like MTV - are part of some large conspiracy to prevent AOR/Hardrock from staging a comeback. Peter

Caught that very cool VH-1 special the other night. Now I'm curious: who's the (cute) blonde who sang "Picture" with the Kid in the barn - WHAT GOLDEN PIPES!

I like this fresh and different approach. Some of them work really well, like "It's My Life" (by far Jon's best vocal performance - ever) and "Lay Your Hands On Me". Others don't, like "Livin' On A Prayer" and "Keep The Faith" (my fave BJ tune). But one thing's for sure: This is the best produced Jovi album, thanks to Patrick Leonard.

Chris, This is a very solid album from start to finish. Unfortunately, it seems she doesn't get any press at all, at least over here in Europe. I think it was Mike Newdeck or Dave Reynolds who mentioned her on this board first. Peter

Lucy Woodward's "While You Can", great CD, her vocals are not quite as haunting as Amanda's, but this is my favorite female rock album of the year.

Went to see them last night. The show was technically speaking flawless with a marvelous sound quality. Even Joe Elliot's voice sounded real good (I was expecting the worst after reading that the long tour had taken its toll on his pipes). But for some reason I don't think they had too much fun up there. Joe even called on the audience numerous times to not to forget them. Sure, they're probably

I must say, I really like the new Pink album. It's got definitely more of a rock sound and the tunes are once again highly infectious. Her band is pretty smokin' band as well. Look forward to seeing her live early next year.

Andy also released a bunch of solo albums, "Ear X-tacy" (part I+II), "The Spoken And The Unspoken", "Pawn Shop" (a blues record), plus he did a project called Orange Swirl (modern pop/rock with him doing the vocals as well). And he's been in Simon Phillips' touring band a few years ago. You can get all his stuff at www.andytimmons.com

As much as I love the old WS line-up with Moody/Marsden/Murray, why do we get yet another live album from these guys? First it was Moody/Marsden, then Company of Snakes, now M3 - How about some new and original stuff, guys?! Besides, I don't think Tony Martin's voice fits the old WS material all that well.

Wow! This is an epic album by one of the best nu-metal bands out there - heavy, melodic and diverse. In fact, this will probably end-up in my top ten of 03. And "Find My Way" is one of my fave songs of the year. A slow, stompin' rocker with a monster riff!

RTB is much better. But then again pretty much anything is better than TRONTB, their worst album by far. But then again RTB isn't in the same league as "Metal Rendez-vous", "Once Vice At A Time" and "Headhunter". BTW, their will be a double live album incl. a DVD bonus disc out early next year.

Slave to The System is awesome, one of those albums I play on a regular basis. Pretty amazing when you consider that they did the whole thing in like in a week. Tom Krupa played me an unreleased album with Damon that sounded very cool as well. Can't remember the name of that project. Amazing musician indeed.

Wow, very cool and powerful modern rock. Perhaps not as immediate as other new releases like Nickelback, but the songs get better and better with every spin. And sonically speaking, this is certainly one of the best produced albums of the year.

Depends, if you're an MHR traditionalist, you probably won't like it too much. If you dig old school with modern influences, you're going to love it. Great album, IMO. Especially the production is very good.

Are you still mourning over the fact that your lads got stopped trying to cross the alps on your journey to Portugal? But don't worry, hopefully we'll get a chance to beat the Brits for you... LOL! Peter
