Well I saw the wink so figured someone was having fun. But Kevgret was so convinced I thought "well shit, maybe it is" lol. We've had other notable musicians poke around in here before. :)

He's the writer of one of the biggest pop hits ever (Call My Maybe). His band Marianas Trench has got a lot of love on this board over the years and they've reached a pretty high level of success in Canada, touring arenas. The later albums were more pop rock, but several fantastic songs.

Yes, that's what I had in my mind that Done With Mirrors was the first after they came back, and then PV was the one that blew up and was the kick off to their 2nd wave of success. I did the sub poll as post 1990 because to be honest, I wanted to get the boards evaluation on those last three albums.

I know the original line-up came back together around this time, did they all perform on Permanent Vacation? I'm sure a Wikipedia search could tell me all this but I'm out the door on my way to work now :)

That would be a Permanent vacation / Pump / Get A Grip combo of virtually every list. I will learn peoples thoughts on those with the main poll. I want to know peoples thoughts on those later albums.

They posted on their Facebook page today. New album "Turborider" out on February 25th. Also, someone from the band/management is replying in the comment section. The song "Loaded" from last year is not on the album, they said it was a one off track for their 10th anniversary. The "synth wave" direction of the first two singles was brought up, and their reply

Oh boy, there's lots of good music in the Pretty Maids and Gotthard catalogs to be discovered. Pretty Maids started late 80's but their 2000's output is outstanding. Gotthard's run from Human Zoo (2003) to Need To Believe (2009) was pretty epic. It's worth a check voiceofbabylon.

I loved the magazine for their "Metal Wire". A page or so of new news on any band. New albums, concert tours etc. It was all there. That was how I learned of new releases from my bands. Like Troy said, it was my MR.com before there was a MR.com.

Avril's been mentioned in this board tonnes of times over the years. Her 2004 album Under My Skin is considered a classic in these parts.

I know Hair Nation's Channel 39 has a very small playlist. They only touch about 5% of the genre, it gets very boring very fast.

Good question, I can look into that when I get back to work. I'll be disappointed if that is in fact the case and that's where these spins are coming from.
