Wow, deep lyrics... And a tad too many notes going on. I'll pass. Been following the maestro until around 2000, interest was already fading at that time and eventually evaporated. This won't bring it back. Shame really, as his playing is second to none. Rocket! Sven.

Andy Timmons, on All is Forgiven & a whole lot of other songs. Don't always necessarily like the songs, but at times he just sounds amazing. (remember reading somewhere he has a signature pedal?) Steve Morse coming in a close second... Rocket! Sven.

Must be you, I guess... Although I kinda see what you mean - the problem of albums that open with the standout tracks. I remember really liking the first 2 tracks and the rest leaving me rather meh. TtB blew me away, though, and I've revisited LotR afterwards & like it better (as a whole) now than I did back then. But I def prefer TtB. Rocket! Sven

My favourite album of theirs as well - also the one that got me into them in the first place. I was 13 at the time, I remember that period as being dominated by this album, Lou's Ready or Not, Europe's Final Countdown, A-ha's Scoundrel Days & Chris De Burgh's Into the Light. And Bon Jovi's Slippery to a lesser extent. Good times :) Rocket! Sven.

Enjoy!! Stellar albums, both of them. Also - if you don't know the Shadow King album, make sure to check that one out as well. Kind of his 3rd solo album (all but 1 tracks are Gramm-Turgon co-writes) with Viv Campbell on guitar. Rocket! Sven.

Harem Scarem & Emerald Rain were the first that came to mind... And following on from an earlier thread, I've been checking out the 80s Santana albums - had 'Beyond Appearances' playing in the car, and when this came on, I thought I was listening to Phil Collins for a while... Rocket! Sven.

Hmm - as I find myself agreeing with many of the aforementioned albums, I'm wondering if they're all that 'unusual' then? Asia - Alpha BÖC - Curse of the Hidden Mirror Triumph - Surveillance oh, and Kiss- Hot in the Shade for me, too! Rocket! Sven.

Agree on some bands that have been mentioned ; others not so much... There's something about the spontaneity of some debut albums that artists never equalled afterwards... Tyketto & Harem Scarem - probably Unruly Child Dead Daisies Von Groove Casanova Crown of Thorns Firehouse Beggars & Thieves also: Manic Street Preachers - Generation Terrorist's a monster! Very well done indeed - totally TON'ed! Thanks for that! On a side note - I quite like Life of Agony's take on that very same song as well (on their Ugly album). Rocket! Sven.

Of the aforementioned: Gary Moore, Paul Gilbert, EVH, Lukather, Huff, Lesperance Don't think these have been mentioned, and my personal top 3: Steve Morse (recently been discovering his Kansas albums & early DP ones coincidentally ; Out Standing in their Field is an awesome album) Carl Verheyen (mainly known as Supertramp guitarist, but has a series of great solo albums under his bel

Howe by a mile... and then some. Some voices move you, resonate, strike a chord, whatever you want to call it, and some don't. BH did ; PR never did for some reason. I do appreciate the PR-led Bad Company, and Free as well, but not because of PR's voice. I never did get the iconic status he was attributed. Especially after he proved to be a total pr#ck when Brian Howe passed away. Also, there

"Worst" is indeed too strong a monicker here. They did the rubber duck thing of course, but released that under a different band name... Make it 'stylistically different' then :) It was slower & moodier/broodier than the rest of their output. Not bad by any means, but I remember feeling deceived at the time after having read rave reviews about their previous albums. Rocket!

Was thinking about this the other night & wondered if there's anyone else out there who's experienced this as well. The 2 bands concerned in my case are The Who & (the) Sweet. The Who covers: Roxy Blue - Squeeze Box Pink Cream 69 - Pinball Wizard Scorpions - Can't Explain Gorky Park - My Generation WASP - The Real Me A.R. Pell - Won't Get Fooled Again Thunder - 5.15 and the CS

56. Kiss
Ouch... Well, Hot in the Shade was my introduction to Kiss (knew "I Was Made" of course, but nothing apart from that), and I still really like it. Never knew it was rated so low... Read elsewhere Dynasty & Revenge aren't really appreciated, while I quite like those as well... Oh well, 'nuff stuff around to rock'n'roll all nite :) Rocket! Sven.

Great album! Have it & love it. Not the biggest Jorn fan either, but when the songs are good, he can add that little extra. This & Masterplan come to mind specifically. Rocket! Sven.
