Agree. As with so many of the collaboration/supergroup projects another the sum of its parts is underwhelming. Just like the Firm, The Law etc, they were oddly unable to write an album's worth of top songs. Terribly patchy.

They’ve brought back the big backing vocals on a couple of tracks, and they sound all the better for that https://youtu.be/JxRs4mjYqY8

Whether it was ego, money, control (possibly all three) such a shame he couldn’t settle on, and stick with a world class vocalist during his hard rock years.

Great song. Sounds tighter with John Fred holding back a bit, and playing straighter on drums. https://youtu.be/odzmYIB-U9k

Super player, but they're concerned about inflicting Gal's live vocals on licence free payers. Truly dreadful at times.

Can’t help thinking when (Danny Rexon?) wrote it, it was 'Rocking On The Radio', and he thought “No, I just can’t, we won’t get away with that. We'll say 'Rocket' instead”.

I’ve yet to listen. Does it have any change of pace? Found them so ploddy throughout up to now. And a big absence of backing vocals. Has that changed?

Stefan, meant to add, as you say one of the reasons FM deserve credit is their work rate. They have gigged consistently, and widely, at a high standard for decades. In honesty many of the acts we all laud on here never got out of the studio.

An awful tale TBH. Steve O has been very magnanimous about it over the years, bearing in mind he and his brother wrote Ozzy's biggest UK solo hit, and have never received a bean. The Osbournes have in recent times moved to prevent Soussan from benefitting any further from the song - that’s why it’s no longer included on Ozzy compilations. Steve recently spoke about the matter to Mit

She’s great. As with the first single, the production could be a bit tighter though, in the sense that it’s not a 5m 30sec track. Two minutes or so too long.

Missing the point Peter. Never a contest, and Barlow hasn’t ever positioned himself as a great vocalist. He was very gracious about Kelly's talent, and the song. What Barlow is, of course, is one of best pop writers of the last 25 years.

Hope Curran isn’t singing in this one. Why would anyone have kept Carl Dixon off of the mic.

As you know Carl, sleeves were a hugely important part of marketing unknown bands back then. Fine to put a release out with a blank sleeve if you were Zep, but at a time when folk browsed and had to physically select product, impact and visibility in stores was always a key factor. Nowadays of course it’s grab that old scarab design from google images for the cover, and you’re done.

At least they were lucky to find that guy who designed their sleeves... Does beg the question, what were the designs they rejected, in favour of the scary seal thing.

Great band. All three of the singles have been terrific. Josh Devine, One Direction's live drummer on the kit BTW. Great player.

Gigs mean thousands/hundreds of folk, indoors, singing, sharing toilets and bars. Unlikely to be at the front of the restriction lifting queue.

It’s how the DD's have always been set up. It’s a collective, with players regularly coming and going. Odd that folk don’t seem to realise that.

Sounds like the HRH special. They’ve been doing it for years. Legit, but a bit of a tired way of flogging their events.
