you can't go wrong. The third album was poor by Giant's standards but the other two are true classics of the genre. Both in my all time top 5.

what the hell do you mean 'what is wrong with people'? wrong? how is it wrong to like an indie band? and drop the 'our' crap, are u some sort of indie-hating snob who thinks everyone should like 80's rock music. The post by Troy was exactly right- rock n roll changes with time, how awful it would be if it didnt. These new indie bands are the latest incarnation of rock n roll. give them a chance,

I have returned to this site after a few weeks absence only to discover those battle of the bands threads are still in full force. They got boring months ago and put me off this site. When i got here a minute ago i scolled down and saw another bloody big thread of some pointless battle. I'm gonna avoid this place for a few weeks and hope its back to normal when i get back. These battles are wor

If Kiss win this one I'm not coming here anymore. Queen get my vote becuase they have a real singer and a real guitarist, and have a catalogue of songs second only to the Beatles. Kiss is truly a talent-free zone although they have written a few fun songs. These votes are getting silly, whats next? Gary Hughes Vs Beethoven?

Not exactly long lost. It gets UK airplay all the time on the major radio stations and has recently hit the charts as a dance remix.

I'm sick of these half baked Survivor 're-unions'. This time theres no Jim Peterik, whats the point? And a new recording of Eye of The Tiger with JJ doing vocals- he couldnt sing it properly 20 years ago so what possessed him to try it now. This will just further dilute the Survivor name, which has already been reduced to a nonsense by all of the other Survivor incarnations since Too Hot to Sleep

Wasnt of the guitarists from Little Angels on Jim'll Fix it asking him to let him be a rock star for the day? Young Gods is just awesome by the way

I thought exactly the same thing! The song still sounds inoovative today despite being almost 30 yrs old. The new darkness album just need mixing and mastering. Recording is done, including all the orchestrations

I thought the sample track was very ordinary. Hopefully its the worst rtack off the album. Such a tired, unimaginative song. I'm disapointed, but still hopeful for the album

Just downloaded 'Follow Through'. You're right, it's great. I'm not so sure about the One Tree Hill song though, maybe it needs a few more listens. I cant believe how much excellent music is on these american dramas like The O.C., Smallville, One Tree Hill etc. I've discovered band after band thanks to those shows

I saw an ad last night and downloaded a couple of tracks- 'Further' which I dont like and 'Still' which is OK. I quite like their sound, but there's something that doesnt sit well with me. I think its the vocals. I might perservere with this one though

If you must concern yourself with the charts the i guess the album chart isn't so bad. Rock is far from absent from the singles charts- it's just evolved. Major rock bands today gettting major coverage on all media include The White Stripes, The Killers, Razorlight etc. Things move on like they always have. It would be awful if they didn't

I would have preferred the money. Rafa has done well with the limited resources available to him, but with £35 mil he could have worked wonders. We did OK without SG when he was injured, remember Biscan actually looking like a good player. But with Zenden, Alonso and Didi extending his contract, i dont think losing Gerrard would have been a disaster. The £100k a week seems a bit steep but play

I think Keane are the best of the bunch and I can't wait for their follow-up album. The bands mentioned above are all good and I would throw in the likes of Embrace, The Thrills, Athlete - all pretty good. I personally love the way rock music in heading in the UK, lots of fresh, new exciting bands who have created a style that american bands want to imitate. It's good to hear so many new american

Chill out ML. It seems that you equate speed with being a good guitarist. I know I sounded very disparaging of valdes but he just doesnt stand out for me. He's clearly put the endless hours of practice in and achived a very high level of technical ability but so have hundreds of others. I'm not joking when I say i know at least 2 others who play that fast, there must be many, many more out there.
