Wow. I’m stunned by the results of this one. For me the debut was a perfect album and Don’t Look Back was nearly as good. Third Stage feels like an entirely different animal. I’ve always liked it, but the first two can’t be touched in my book.

I agree that Lost in the Translation is his very best solo album and the one I return to most often. Just checking, you have checked out all of Talisman albums I hope because those are essential as well!

For what it’s worth, I was at the Journey show on Sat night in Phoenix and was expecting the worst based on what I had been reading. Arnel absolutely slayed it vocally. He sounded amazing to me. The ironic thing is they did have some mix issues early in the show. Not being in the business, I never have understood why it seems so hard to get the mix right early in the show. Neal’s guitar was s

I haven’t really liked much of his output over the last couple of decades, but I have been enjoying the new Pretty Woman soundtrack. I gave the new one a try this afternoon while on my bike ride and I did not hate it. I think there are some decent tracks and nothing terrible. I’ll probably give it a few more tries, but I suspect I will return more often to Pretty Woman. I have to say his voi

I agree - solid release. I knew August could sing and play but I was worried about the songs given this appeared to be the typical Frontiers formula. Pleasantly surprised after several listens this weekend, and many of these songs seem to be sticking with me. Great vocals and playing with some great solos. Mix is killer as mentioned. Loving Escape the Rain and Take My Hand in particular, but I d

Thanks for posting this! I had completely missed this somehow. Surprised no one else seems interested in this. There is some normal paint by numbers Frontiers stuff on this, but some great tracks as well. I’ll definitely give this a few more spins. I’ve always liked August and have been impressed when I’ve seen him live as Tommy 2.0. Great guitarist and vocalist. Best tracks for me so far a

I’m a big fan of the first 3 albums with Myles and don’t mind his voice. I think it’s a pretty good fit for Slash’s material. I was really looking forward to the new one. After one listen, I don’t think it’s the complete train wreck everyone else seems to think, but it’s definitely considerably weaker than the previous 3 efforts. Both production and song writing are a few notches be

Looking forward to this one. Love all of the albums with Myles so far. Autographed preorders up at Newbury Comics this morning (CD or vinyl). Won’t last long.

Thanks so much for doing this! It’s so much fun! I agonized over the 4-5 spots but ended up nailing the entire main list in order. The first three spots were fairly obvious and it played out that way in the results. I vote for Aerosmith and Dokken for the next polls.

Good to hear. I’m headed to see them on Monday night in Phoenix and really looking forward to it. I was blown away by the album but I was not sure how it would translate live. WVH is an immense talent and I can’t wait to see what he does next. How long did Mammoth play? How did Axl sound?

Any suggestions for their best melodic tracks? What would be their best album to sample? I have only occasionally dabbled in them and only own No World for Tomorrow, which I recall liking when it came out.

Uh oh. You’re right. I haven’t received a shipping notice yet either. I have ordered lots of stuff from them over the years and usually very timely. Typically shipped on Thursday and arrive by Tuesday. Hope there is not some sort of delay in supply from the NR camp. This does seem unusual.

Still waiting for my autographed copy to arrive from Newbury Comics, but I couldn’t wait to listen on Spotify. I was pleasantly surprised at how immediate this was for me after two spins. I really expected this to be more of a grower based on everything I had read and heard. Except for maybe Monkey, I think I like all of it. Lucky Man, Dance, and Tomorrow are the ones that are sticking in my he

Totally agree about these guys. I loved One and was surprised about the lack of buzz about it on here and elsewhere. I need to give the new one more spins but it didn’t have the immediate impact on me that One did. I did love the Boston tribute track. They really nailed that vibe. I am off to listen to Two again!

I am blown away by this one as well. I still haven’t decided if it’s better than the Mission or not, but it is definitely on par. The Mission is a very cool ride and very well executed. I just wish they would have fleshed some of the songs out a little more on that one. Several tracks only had one verse and seemed to have great potential with a little more effort. I feared that would be the c

I'm seriously jealous. Very cool. How did you score that? Did you have them sign at a meet and greet or something? I have several signed cds for the current lineup but a guitar would be so much cooler:)

The Cheap Trick album I keep coming back to is Rockford from 2006. I feel like that one flies under the radar a bit, but I think it’s one of their best and very consistent throughout. The Latest and the new one are also both solid IMO.

I swore I’d never go see GNR again after I waited until about midnight for Axl to show up during the Use Your Illusion Tour back in the early 90’s. He then cut his hand on his mic stand and had to cut the show short! I might have to go back on that pledge to see Wolfie though. They will be here in PHX around the same time.

Yay! My first post! I’ve been following this board for probably 20 years and I’m finally jumping into the fray. It seems like a much kinder bunch than years ago. I’ve been grateful for all of the great music I’ve been introduced to through this Board/site thanks to Andrew and all of you. Thank you! Now to my list. 1. Midnight Madness 2.
