Ugh ... by far the worst song on this last album and the video is even worse. Dreadful.

I completely agree ... hugh SS fan here and always thought the songs themselves on III Wishes were amazing, but the production is so dull that the album never worked for me. I would love to see that album completely remixed to have the sparkle it deserved. I can't pick a favorite - love them all!

What a refreshing song - totally unexpected! This sounds like an early Kansas song ... I'll be anxious to hear the rest of the album.

I'm surprised, Carl, you and I usually agree on most things here. But as I think about it, I'm not sure it's the "song" that I like so much - it's that familiar voice and vibe that just brings back memories and makes me feel good. It may not be a classic, but it certainly reminds me of the good old days.

Brilliant! Sounds very familiar yet fresh at the same time. I would love to have a whole album, but one song is hitting the spot!

I listened to it today on Amazon Music ... stunningly good album. It feels like a cross between Kansas and Kerry Livgren's Proto-Kaw music. The production is great, and Jake's singing is fantastic. As someone said, there is a lot to love about this album - one of the freshest I've heard in a long time. I'm surprised Terry hasn't weighed in yet - his kind of disc!

I have to admit that until the songs from this new album were discussed here, I had never heard of this band (maybe living under a rock?). But I really, really like these pre-releases - definitely makes me look forward to hearing the full album.

Agreed Scott ... if you're going to do a short set, give us the songs that made you famous, not Ace Frehley solo tracks!!! We really want to hear Ballroom Blitz or even one of their new releases!

Thanks for sharing this, Terry, I hadn't heard of the band. I've always been a fan of Jake Livgren's voice - did some great vocals on Kerry's solo albums and A.D. in the past. This is a wonderful song - looking forward to hearing the whole album in January!!

Not only is this song a brilliant masterpiece, but Kerry Livgren said "Carry On Wayward Son" was written to be the sequel to this song. Pinnacle ends by saying "in one gleaming moment, I saw beyond the tomb" and Wayward Son picks up, "Once I rose above the noise and confusion," continuing the same message. I like listening to those two songs back to back as they we

That was my opinion too. The music is good, but I always feel like I have "already heard that song" ... kind of generic to me and nothing to get excited about.

This song is 16 years old and I prefer the original REO version ... what was the point in re-recording it with Peterik? Lots of respect for him and for REO, but they should have left this one alone.

Scott, I actually think that's why Brian and Roger invited him to front Queen in the first place ... They specifically said when they pulled the show back together that the last thing they wanted to do was to tour with a Freddy sound-alike. At the time, they wanted to distance themselves from anyone comparing Freddy's voice to a replacement. They were also smart enough to know that they would d

Has anyone else listened to Midnight Rose yet? I love that album ... it grabbed me right away and has a nice mix of rock, blues, and a couple acoustic pieces. Given his health, it's a miracle the album happened. The track I really enjoy a lot is "Take Love" ... I remember that he wrote that song while on tour with Queen and I saw them play it live before he ever recorded it - very in

I noticed that the Youtube compilation does not have the Walsh-fronted demo of "Caught in a Crossfire" ... I wonder why ... I always liked listening to that version too.

Great! I can't wait to hear this album ... their first one is still my "most played" album from the past couple of years - not a weak track on the album.

My goodness, it IS Lagrange! That being said, I love it ... always enjoyed Foghat back in the day and it has the vibe of a song like Driving Wheel.

Thanks for this tip, Al. I just listened to some of the songs on Amazon Prime Music ... I'm not sure how I missed this one but I love it. The lead vocals are so crisp and songs are catchy - great stuff - I'll be spinning this one for a while!

24. Liar
This might be a dumb question, but a couple years ago, Liar re-released their "Blame It On the Kids" album. I listened to it on Amazon endlessly and loved it. I just went to listen to it again, and it has disappeared. When I searched online, I can't find it anywhere, even for hard copy purchase. Did that album get pulled, or were there issues with the rights for using it? The songs

I really liked the first album a lot, but I think it's because it featured so many artists I follow like Billy Greer, Terry Brock, and Jerome Mazza. The first two songs of this album have not impressed me as much as the first volume so far ... good but not great.

Excellent point, Dave ... those who "get" Extreme are going to love this album - it's exactly what we look forward to. I can't get the hook of "Beautiful Girls" out of my head! IMO not a weak track on the album - I have listened to it over and over and it gets better every time. To each his own.

Totally agree. I'm so glad I listened to the album a couple times through before I started reading this thread so I could form my own opinion of how much I like it!

People said Queen had an identity crisis in 1976 too ... they just didn't "get" the band ... not a crisis - it's who they were, and the charm of an album is that it could go from the soaring guitars on Tie Your Mother Down to the beautiful piano on You Take My Breath Away, while reviewers were desperately trying to put the brand in a box. Enjoy it for what it is.

Me too ... love it all. I'm not understanding at all why people are saying the first four songs are the best and it trails off from there. In my opinion, the first four songs set you up for another great 8 tunes to follow. The acoustic songs and harmonies are amazing and the album goes so fast because of the variation in styles.
