In the summer of 88 when I was still underage I got see them tear up the Whiskey in Los Angeles a few times. I am not sure when they were actually signed but the debut wasn't released until October of 1990. Pretty obvious to me way back then that too much time was wasted getting that out as the tides were turning. I have no doubt they would have more impact if that would have come much earlier

I am digging it. It has taken me some time to get in the right frame of mind to give it a full listen but now that i have it is in rotation. I owned Live Speed On Ice (sold the vinyl in a regrettable partial vinyl purge way back in the day) years ago and it is a trip hearing these songs again. I think it sounds great. Naro, what a voice.

Johnny "Gash" Sombretto. The dude was scarred up from an accident and Gash was his nickname. Play nice.

Here is a recent interview of Ian & Billy with former MTV and current KLOS guy Matt Pinfield regarding what is possibly the BEST rock album of the year Under The Midnight Sun. To make this fun, every time that gremlin Pinfield nods his head in agreement you have to take a sip of Johny Walker. See you on the floor. Under the Midnight Sun of course.... https://youtu.be/QLqOcaLNo7g

Held back on saying anything for days. Full album is on YT. Do yourself a favor. Samples. Shamples. U2. Shmu2. Or check out Pete Pardo's review. Lots of people in the comments love it. There is hope. Hope. Shmope.

I can get behind that. Sorta. The interviewer is pretty bad. The Cult at the Greek in LA were epic.

Fuck this band. I'd rather talk about the ongoing list of their hot ex wife's. Actually, I don't have time for that either.

I went on Spotify and made a pretty cool playlist comprised of nothing but Bob Welch tunes. The guy was a spacey mellow master. Angel, Hypnotized, Silver Heels, Sentimental Lady are just a few of the stellar highlights. Christine McVie...ha. No Thanks.

Kick Axe is hands down my favorite rock band from Canada of all time. But...my tastes have changed a lot since they were in heavy rotation decades ago. I used to not like Rush at all and have over the last twenty years come to appreciat them quite a bit.

I played a couple of songs and it sounded pretty cool. Rick Beato just posted a Doobie Brothers vid on YT. What timing. A few months back when they were on tour it blew my mind that they sold out the LA Forum. I don't know if you caught their performances on Kimmel but they were great. Tom Johnston kicks ass!

Hall of the Mountain King is one of my favorite albums of all time. I just can not get into other Savatage albums. I've tried and tried. It's a shame. They had lightening in a bottle on that album. After that...about as exciting as Metallica cutting ther hair and covering Bob Seger. Your mileage may vary Don.

I wasn't blown away by the single or singles but found the change of direction refreshing especially after being bored beyond belief by Hidden City. So, I was curious to see what was cooking. Damn. Seems like this is the album they should have made after Love. Or maybe not, Electric did come out of the blue and kick everyone's asses. Under the Midnight Sun is a stately handsome mature album

Golgotha is a fine album. That solo in the title track starts to bite off mightily from Comfortably Numb. Just a wee nitpick.

Stumbled upon this French proto prog album from 1977 recently and am loving it. Georges Bodossian is a hell of a musician. The second guitar solo in the first song, Sunnyday is mastefully evocative. In fact, great solos all over this. The singer is not for everybody but I am digging it. God's Clown by Ocean https://youtu.be/QScNqN2vnxA Also on the Spotify

A nice little ditty that pays homage to King Edward where Frusciante channels a bit of his inner EVH. https://youtu.be/pXMEXCT5ohY

This was right when I got into UFO in my teenage years. The local radio station had "When It's Time To Rock" in a very infrequent rotation but I was hooked. My new group of friends at the time were way ahead of me and pretty much had the entire discography. I played catch up very fast, snapping up UFO albums left and right. Some albums were much harder to find than others. Stranger
