Have also been saying this for a long time....Just change it to the Music Hall of Fame and lose the rock connotation. I mean, it's clear they're just nominating and inducting artists that were influential in music as a whole and they don't limit it to just "Rock". They just make themselves look silly by calling it the Rock N Roll HOF. Brett5150 Wrote: ------------------------

I wouldn't say they're on their way back. I mean, it's not like we're ever going to see CD players in cars again. For me, that was the biggest blow to the CD as the car is where most of my listening happens. It's mostly all streaming for me now. That said, I absolutely have never gotten the allure of vinyl. I mean, I've tried and tried and over the years and have listened to various friend

Exactly my thoughts. Erik brought me back to them as he was a fantastic fit. But now, anybody else besides Bach will feel like a step down from Erik. They should work it out with Bach or just call it a day. Aussie Dave Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Pass. Dig that....really well done ballad IMO that strikes a chord. Looking forward to this album. These guys seem to be stepping up a notch with these new songs so far.

Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to the documentary also. While I don't care for their musical direction the past 15 years or so, I was a big fan of these guys back in the day.

I enjoy spotify. We use the family plan in my house so don't notice the price so much as we have 4 people using it for $16/mo or whatever it is. I look at it as though I'm getting an entire music library from the cost of about 1 CD lol. I feel like it's the most user friendly and there's podcasts I also enjoy listening to that are easy to keep a track of on it. And I've built all kind of

100% true! I've even seen this played out in our house. Now I have a daughter who is 24. When she was younger, she would ask for "albums" on CD for Christmas and such so she did have that kind of appreciation for a short time. Although, she doesn't buy albums anymore. My son is 16 though.....And he's never bought or asked for a single album. He doesn't own a single album and I

My top 5 are: Perry Perry Perry Perry Perry It's funny how sometimes I'm good with other singers in bands....like I loved Hagar in VH for example. But I've never been able to get comfortable with anybody else in Journey and nothing they've done after Perry has resonated with me.

Well...I'm excited to hear it. With the 40th Pyro Anniversary release coming, I'd think they'd want to push out a guitar oriented rocker as a single that maybe resembles something like Take What You Want....So fingers crossed for something like that.

AC/DC Journey with Perry. Skid Row with Bach. Kissin Dynamite and Midnite City are a couple newer bands I haven't seen but hope to catch.

Well... this sucks... Today is a sad day for Rock N Roll. It is with great sorrow we are letting the world know we have lost our brother: CJ Snare, the rock and roll warrior, lead vocalist, and a founding member of Firehouse. CJ snare passed unexpectedly at home Friday night, April 5, 2024. He was a young 64 years old. As you are all aware, CJ was expected to be back on stage with

Interesting question. Def Leppard has always been my favorite band so I'm obviously a little bias. That said though, back in the late 80's, I'd have probably listed Bon Jovi as my #2 favorite band so I was a big fan of them too. First of all, neither's 2000+ output remotely compares to their 80's output. Both have kind of veered off a bit. I suspect most would agree with that. For me

I guess I say....Heck, why not? I think I'd do the same thing if I were them. Frankly, to me it's no different than putting efforts into building a business and then selling it. I mean, it's not much different than what George Lucas did when selling the Star Wars rights to Disney. If these guys are basically ready to retire, why not take $300 million and let what you created live on well

Agree. I do think These Days was the last good album they did. Slippery is the album that really pulled me in and New Jersey was the pinnacle of Bon Jovi for me. They still did other stuff here with some songs here and there after These Days I've liked but it's been very hit and miss....and mostly misses. If you ask me, they blew it with that album and waited too long to release it. It was like 2 years ago. I mean, I'm as big of an Erik fan as anybody but I have no interest in buying a live CD/DVD when the singer is no longer there. Missed opportunity imo. adolfo Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Anyway, the next step for Skid Row will be > releasing

Agree. Erik lifted them out of the dump and added life into the band they hadn't had since Bach. I think anybody short of Bach coming back will probably put them back where they were. Honestly though, it's now or never for Bach coming back. If they can't figure that out, they should probably just hang it up. As for Erik, hope he gets healthy and can find a way to do new, original music o

My thoughts too. Sounds fine but their first album had no staying power for me. I think their lack of originality and sort of borrowing so heavily from the past kind of bothers me. In a weird way I kind of like this in that it sounds fine but dislike it at the same time simply because I feel like I've heard it many times in other songs. Agree that it's better than recent Lynch Mob albums. That said, vocals on some songs do grate on me some. And sometimes the length of these songs gets to me also at 5+ minhtes. Shattered Glass Heart is probably my favorite here....cool tune. Killer in the Night I like too. Those are the two songs so far I've added to my main playlist. I definitely like Girish better when he controls hi

Sounding pretty good to me. I like that he's back to rocking at least! Enjoyed his first few albums but he completely lost me with Baptized and Cage to Rattle. Thought Dearly Beloved was okay though and a step in the right direction. Now seems he's really gearing toward a more modern melodic rock sound. It's not the 80's inspired type of AOR/hard rock I'm usually listening to but I l

Huge Bon Jovi fan back in the day but have hated most of what they've done the past 15 years. That said, I don't hate this as much as maybe I thought I would lol. Still light years away from what they were but at least it's not a ballad and there's a little bit of catchiness in the song that at least kept me from turning it off after 30 seconds like most of their other stuff in recent years.

Not doing too much for me. I admit though, I'm a bias Erik fan lol and never cared for Dynazty. I dig the music here but I hear this and can't help thinking it would sound better to me with Erik doing vocals.

I've never been much of a metal guy and therefore never a huge Priest fan. I mean, for me Turbo is the best stuff they've ever done so that's kind of where my wheelhouse is. That said, I seem to usually find a couple tunes I like on each Priest album and enjoy their "hits". Here, I think Gates of Hell is my favorite song....excellent track. Crown of Horns and Devil In Disguise p

Yes! Start with most recent and work back. Not The End of The Road and Ecstacy both excellent. Generation Goodbye pretty good. After that, they get more hit and miss imo. Still some good stuff but they dabbled a bit with more of a power metal sound earlier in the albums. It's been the last few where they've really found their groove imo. I'd agree with you. They just seem to have a knack for building interesting, catchy, hook filled tunes. Their last album is probably my favorite album of the past 5 years if I were making a list so have some high expectations for this one. Never was I to them at all. However, heard some stuff from the When Legends Rise album last year and it became one of my most played albums of the year. Just fantastic modern melodic rock imo. I'm sure it's likely their most commercial album and it probably annoyed their long time, die hard fans...but for me it's far and away my favorite stuff from them. I still don't care much for their
