Read ‘Loud’ by Tana Henderson recently and enjoyed it. The story/biography of the world’s first female roadie.

A great version of a great song. Not one for acoustic cover albums but if Eric ever decides to do one will happily change my stance.

Think because it was released so early in the year it gets overlooked when talking about the best albums of the year. Easily in my top 5 for 2022.

Following on from a thread further down regarding unavailability of certain releases in Australia, went to my local JB this afternoon (Ballarat) and lo and behold found the Autograph, Ring of Fire and new Stryper CDs in the racks for $19.99 each. Wondering if they have local distribution again.

Liked the video but don't think it worked as well as a duet. With Terry on this much prefer the original.

Styx were the big one for me...though Tommy Shaw did play a solo version of 'Boat on a River' on Countdown. The others I can think of are Blue Oyster Cult and Grand Funk Railroad. (Though I think Locomotion and Some Kind of Wonderful were both minor hits)

Have both on vinyl and still play them regularly to this day. Who’s Your Boyfriend is one of my guilty pleasure songs from the 70s

Waiting for my Avantasia as well and hanging out for Threshold. On the plus side been playing the new Arena a lot and will definitely be in my top five albums of this year.

Like a lot of bands Ten seem to polarise between love and loathe ( probably not that extreme but do love a bit of alliteration) I am very much on the love side and while I agree that they can sound the same at times, I’m pretty sure the same could be said for most of the bands mentioned here.

If there was ever to be a Rush tribute/reunion/ call it what you will, Todd would be my first choice to fill Neil’s shoes.

This and the Threshold albums are the two I’ve been hanging out for. Have deluxe version of the Avantasia on pre-order but no show yet. Hoping the stock delay in Australia mentioned above isn’t a long one.

This is how I feel about the KK’s Priest album from last year.Hearing the initial released songs didn’t excite me much but in the context of an album I loved them.

Not to these ears.Enjoy and appreciate Dennis’s contributions and know this is a contentious viewpoint but for me it was Tommy Shaw who took the band to another level and whose music I enjoy more.

Massively envious. My favourite band also. Was hoping to win the lottery so I could have flown over for this celebration also. Enjoy the experience and looking forward to hearing how it went.

Loved it. Passed Andrew as I was leaving and was going to say hello but he was deep in conversation so didn’t want to intrude. One of the few gigs my wife was keen to attend as well. To her (minor) disappointment they didn’t play her favourite song (Tearing Down the Walls)but she loved it just the same. Rare that our tastes mix. Thanks HEAT for an amazing night.

I was going to write a list but Darren’s was just about perfect for me...would swap Dare and Styx around though and move Rainbow to 3rd spot but all is is fine.

Can remember my first vinyl purchase (Nantucket Sleighride by Mountain) but not my first CD one. Think it was because I raged at the demise of the album cover and figured CDs would be a fad that would die.

+2 As much as I love Dio, have the feeling he didn’t want to share the limelight with another musician the calibre of a Blackmore or Iommi. Campbell was an unknown at the time of the first Dio album but imagine the accolades he received as a guitarist and writer might have irked RJD a little.
