Couple of interesting up-coming Frontiers releases also that month apart from Cap Outrun, Mercury X who are another melodic prog metal band, AOR/melodic rock act Zelbo (I know daft name) who feature Ken Ingwersen and Dag Selboskar of DaVinci and the new The Murder Of My Sweet which sees Daniel Flores re-visiting Mind's Eye's 'A Gentleman's Hurricane' concept album with the conclusion of the story

No point putting the big guns here so some small gigs that blew me away:- Jeff Healey Band first UK tour, Manchester International. Evergrey, at a warehouse in Bolton with about forty people in attendance and they still put on one of the best shows I've heard and seen. Moon Safari, Classic Rock gig in Yorkshire, went with four other Fireworks writers and we all thought it was one of t

A mate at e.a.r knows nothing about them which is very odd but I've been told that you can order them from Amazon USA and if you keep it under £35 you won't be charged anything extra, I've had a couple of things before from them and it all went fine so maybe that's the way to go.

Anyone know anything about the new Saga reissues, seen a couple of articles that say they're coming out in a week or so but you can't seem to order them from anywhere.

Two things off stage nice guy, on stage ego & voice - too much ego but can't hack it vocally but the 40+ soccer moms who still think he'll jump off stage and whisk them away from their boring lives will keep him where he is, coining it in whilst doing little to justify it imho.

Heard the promo a while ago and played it a few times and didn't warm to the album at all. Then just to make sure (always like to check) I bought the CD and I'm still of the opinion that this is little more than huge Holopainen ego trip. Bland and wishy washy songs apart from Noise and a few other parts of songs this never gets above the meh! factor. And don't get me started on the second disc, B

Great year imho but again I think it's down to your musical tastes. As a former dyed in the wool card carrying member of the AOR Mafia, who once upon a time wouldn't have listened to anything but AOR - read AOR Snob, I now listen to every rock genre there is and enjoy them all equally. My tastes are now eclectic to say the least and I can enjoy Harem Scarem as much as Opeth. So I usually read

I'm a huge Nightwish fan but after listening to this quite a few times I now understand why they put out the only exciting track on it 'Noise' as a single/video it was camouflage to detract from the meandering lacklustre songs found elsewhere.I might be wrong but Holopainen's ego seems to be running wild and with no one in the camp reigning it in, we're left with Human :II: Nature. Oh and the

Used to go to Shades at least once a month back in the day and Kelv would always make me buy more than I'd come for (Top Bloke). Then when Boulevard started he wrote a nice letter to us about it and over the years when you bumped into him he was always a nice fella and a Gent. He'll be missed
