Have to agree Threshold were a disapointment, seen them supporting Kamelot in London not so long ago sounded better then.
Damian great voice but not up to Mac's standard even the use of Mac's backing vocals didnt help on some of the songs on friday.
Pilot In The Sky the song of the year from the album of the year was totally lost ,unless they get a new singer or Mac comes back this will be the la Forum: Noticeboard
Perhaps you are not familiar with previous Firefest / The Gods Festival line-ups? As far as I'm aware it was never just about the pedestrian tempoed bands but rather a mixture of bands old and new who were bringing the best in Rock music out to the fans.
This isn't the first time Jorn has played one of these events and it wasn't that long ago we had Power Quest and Balance of Power performing a Forum: Noticeboard
When I saw your post it was almost like I'd already posted and forgot about it. Jorn was THE reason we attended the Saturday. If Jorn had not been on we would not have turned out.
Jaded Heart were the only other band we were remotely interested in prior to the days events.
We thought Jorn did a cracking set and it was well worth the wait since they performed at The Gods to see the band again. Forum: Noticeboard
You must have just looked dodgy cos they let me bring in huge amounts of pain killers without so much as a blink of an eye. They were more bothered about me not having chewing gum than having enough pain killers to knock an elephant out in my bag.
Bar staff - well dodgy. Had a bit of a fracus with one of the girls who gave me a dodgy tasting drink and then refused to taste, swap it or refund i Forum: Noticeboard
House of Lords definitely band of the day, head and shoulders above the rest, in fact probably performance of the year in my book. Absolutely fantastic.
Annoying German sound tech - how someone didn't drag him off into the car park and give him a good slapping is a miracle. Very unprofessional to be f-ing and blinding over the mic and then stropping off to the side of the stage and kicking 10 Forum: Noticeboard
Most of you may already know of this band but they're new to me and having seen them kick up a storm at Mexborough on Friday night I have to say I am mega impressed.
Still only teens they play the sort of music we all know and love ... and it's original songs too!
The bands called Reminiscence and can be found here - www.myspace.com/reminiscenceband . Check out the songs, they kiss ass. Forum: Noticeboard
Couldn't agree with you more. Rock City owe people nothing other than a refund for any tickets that were purchased via them for Thunderground. They've worked their little socks off to help THE FANS see a decent gig instead of just letting it go.
Would you expect to go into a bank and draw money out when you don't have an account there? No, you'd go to the bank you have your account with.

Woody I couldn't agree with you more. Thunderground had everything music wise that I could have hoped for and so much more. The line-up was fantastic, the ticket price was extremely reasonable and should have attracted a lot of folks who grumble at the higher prices the other festivals are charging. In my opinion Wig Wam alone were worth the cover price and The Poodles a close second. Yes I s Forum: Noticeboard
Is it any wonder the whole AOR/Hard Rock scene is in such a pityful mess when childish public slagging matches like this take place?
Seriously guys I'm sure you both have a lot of good points and do some good work which is a credit to the scene, but please leave the slagging matches at home, this thread has not been constructive to either sides.
Maybe I'm wrong but I never see this type of bitc Forum: Noticeboard

Good night and good to see so many 'older' faces out in the crowd with their 2nd and 3rd generations of new rock fans with them.

Well after reading the mostly negative comments on the board up until last ngiht about this release I must admit I was beginning to wonder myself just what this new album would sound like.
This morning I slapped it on the cd player and gave it a run for it's life and you know what? After I got past the first song, which I am currently struggling to enjoy, the album is actually canny.

Actually I really liked them when they played on tour with The Darkness, maybe each to their own, or different venues, different sounds?
Good luck to em I say, far better than the dirge we are putting in the competition! Forum: Noticeboard
Bradford Rios is no more, pulled down as part of the regeneration of that part of town. Rios has moved to the centre of Leeds with another promised in September elsewhere in Bradford.
As for The Wildhearts ... Ginger can do no wrong in my eyes whatever band he fronts. Forum: Noticeboard
Think it was more that the release of the album falls after the end of the bands contract with MTM and they've decided to look elsewhere for a new deal.
With any new singer it's going to be touch and go as to whether a labels willing to back em, however Tony Mills has always been an outstanding vocalist and so this release is perhaps more eagerly awaited than previous ones for a variety of dif Forum: Noticeboard
I think the internet can be a great leveller for bands of all sizes and provides them with a lot of opportunities to self promote themselves and their music that simply wasn't possible say 5 or 10 years ago. It wasn't that long ago that if a band wanted exposure they had to fork out big money for adverts in glossy magazines and on radio stations. Now the field has been opened up to all for free Forum: Noticeboard
This is THE album I have waited a long long time to hear and fingers crossed we might even get them back to play in England some time?
I think Evidence One would have been a fantastic addition to the FF day 1 line-up, not sure if that's all booked up or not but they'd blow the others away for sure. Forum: Noticeboard
