He posted a pic on his FB page last week from his hospital bed, and I was shocked at how ill he looked sadly. R.I.P. Mr Douglas. A true artist of the studio.

I had two older cousins who used to babysit me as a kid. They played Beatles records constantly, And it had the opposite effect on me, I became sick of hearing them and as such could never get into them when I grew older.

Agree re cinemas. It's like the movie Idiocracy wasn't a sci fi comedy, but a glimpse into where society in general is heading.

One of my earliest gigs when I was 15, (so 1975) was seeing Thin Lizzy at Torquay Town Pavillion on the harbour. (On our regular family holiday to Paignton. Felt very grown up getting the bus around the bay for the bright lights of Torquay) Cannot recall who the guitarist was, but I am certain they were only a three piece. Still have the flyer. In the following years they seemed to be at th

Not blind, but Carol Hodge, ex Ryan Hamilton's Traitors and currently with The Wildhearts is a keyboard player born with just a thumb and one finger on her left hand. Takes some doing that!

Sad news. Almost two years to the day his wife passed through cancer. I know people who saw him at Ricky Hatton's funeral recently, and said he was struggling to walk and very breathless. Nonetheless, he had just announced a spoken word extensive tour. Great bass player and his joining the Roses was when the band 'clicked' and produced that magical first album. Side note, my old man used

Vinyl arrived, as did CD from Japan, with extra tracks. Haven't had time to play as yet. Oddly it's received a lot of good reviews in the press etc, but fans on their FB pages seem underwhelmed. It'll have to be good to beat their last, which I felt was their strongest in decades. They were amazing at Osaka and the Budokan last month by the way. Also appeared at the club the night befor

Just behind 4 to me as their best album. Just a shame it was the only real album we got in all the years Kelly was their singer.

Only saw them on their first UK tour in 1976 (?) at Manchester Free Trade Hall. Even a wide eyed 16 year olds, with barely two years of gig going, we were appalled at how weak they sounded live, and how toy the 'spectacular' show was ... the rockets firing from Ace's guitar were more like limp fireworks. We were literally laughing. So never saw them again. :-)

I am a regular on a forum for my football club. There is an off topic forum there, and their is also a sub forum for political discussions. It's venomous, and I rarely if ever go into it. But as it's all in a sub forum, it's easy to avoid. Maybe something similar here?
