Yeah, I remember it being in conjunction with a mag, not sure which one... That other tour was The Rods with Exciter and Metallica opening if memory serves. I had a ticket for the London show.

I saw that tour at Hammersmith Odeon. I also saw Tesla at the Marquee a little while before the Leppard tour. Tickets for Tesla were £1.50!

Due to family issues he has to attend to, Firewind will be without singer Apollo for their upcoming 'Defiance Over Europe' tour. Former Malmsteen/Treat/Therion man Mats Leven will be standing in for Apollo on these dates.

the only thing I purchased this month was Suicide Squad 'Live It While You Can' EP (Brad Sinsel/Rick Pierce). I had this on vinyl back when it came out on MFN and was really surprised to find it available on Amazon. I also recieved the new Ozzy 30th anniversary promos today. Plus I found Canedy/Feinstein/Bordonaro/Caudle Project:Hollywood online, which has pleased me greatly (even though I

A lot of bands like the 'it's us (insert amount of band members) against the world' in principle but as Kieran mentioned, pretty soon the one guy writing all the songs is going to start looking for a bigger slice of the pie. Another situation is who actually has the record deal. Take Paramore for example, hugely successful band but the only member actually signed to Atlantic (I know the records c

I have a fair few demo albums but my absolute favourtie is by a New Jersey band called Americane. It's basically a fantastic singer/songwriter called Richie Galdieri with help from a few fellow Jersey boys. J3 (Tommy Lee/Sect.8/Bone Machine guitarist) plays bass, Brother James (Sect.8 bassist) plays guitar, Dennis Zimmerman (Bone Machine) plays drums. Only seven tracks but it's outstanding mode

I saw Sass on the 'Rats' tour at the Borderline in London, she was sensational! Stevie Salas played guitar and the drummer was the then unknown Taylor Hawkins.

Mattias Eklundh (guitars) and Bjorn Fryklund (drums) from Freak Kitchen. Two hugely talented musicians. Christer Ortefors (ex-Road Ratt singer) is no slouch on bass either... They came out of 'retirement' to tour with the Wildhearts in 2008 (with John Mitchell from It Bites on bass), did a headline tour in 2009 and then opened for Bowling For Soup in 2010. Daniel P Carter is the Radio 1 rock show host. He also has a new band (Hexes) and plays bass for Bloodhound Gang (A drummer Adam Perry is also in BHG). Jason Perry has become a pretty succesful producer (The Blackou

I’m a big fan of Blue Note stuff (late ‘50’s – up to about 1970) and pretty much anything from that era is worth exploring. Check out Kenny Dorham, Joe Henderson, Tina Brooks, Sonny Rollins, Donald Byrd, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Art Blakey, Stanley Turrentine, Horace Silver, Jimmy Smith, Jutta Hipp, Sonny Clark, Ike Quebec, Jackie McClean, Lee Morgan, Grant Green, Cannonball Adderl
