Why though, did they plan a gig in Barnstaple of all places? I wondered why they hadn't picked somewhere a bit bigger like Exeter or Plymouth where at least they might have picked up some "Passing trade" ?

I sat next to Jason Orange's cousins wife in a meeting at work the other day...she had 12 tickets...she couldn't sell em either! :-)

Having seen the real thing I thought that a tribute band could only disappoint, but these guys are truly great. I live in Cheshire and as well as more "Local" gigs have travelled to the south coast and to Northern I

Vague religious references within the context of a song doesn't bother me....A whole album pushing it down my throat does!

Yes, a weekender suits me too. I like the opportunity to have time to meet with friends, relax and socialise as well as enjoy the music.

I can't give a full review as I drifted in and out and only saw the bands I really wanted to see, and to take advantage of the weather! (As were quite a few others I think) Stampede helped me along a trip down memory lane, I'd last seen them supporting Gary Moore, many many years ago. Hard now to visualise them in spandex trousers and leg-warmers! Steve Grimmet was ok, but not really my thing.

Is it Lidnocaine injections you're thinking of? I've had problems with trochanteric bursitis (Caused by a tendon rubbing against the bursa in the hip) but I think they can be used elsewhere. I find them really effective, and the effects last for several weeks.

Can't be any harder than the average person who gets up,travels to work, comes home and starts again with household stuff, kids, gardening etc. can it? Then there's the possibility of losing sleep with kids waking up as well as trying to fit in some kind of social life etc. Just Like the rest of us I guess they just have to get on with it.

How about this, from All I Wanna Do Is Make Love To You by Heart? ''...I am the flower you are the seed We walked in the garden we planted a tree..." No wonder she was having problems getting preggers!!

You'll never win with this lot Pete! On any other forum you'd have had responses from people who were interested saying "Oh thanks for posting that" and anyone not interested would have ignored it, but there are people here who would have an argument in an empty room.

Agree with all of that, especially the bit about discovering bands you wouldn't otherwise have seen/heard. I've attended the last three FFs, not having much of a clue of about two thirds of the bill, and I've still had a fantastic time. Go on, try something new! You never know, you might like it! ;-)

It's true that there will be some people who are having difficulties at the present time, but that's not everybody and I don't think its a reason to abandon the idea of FF altogether. People are still going to gigs around the country, some gigs are still selling out, credit-crunch or no credit-crunch. I agree that to just go ahead and try and put FF on in the same format as recent years mig

I agree, and I also object to being showered with beer by folks who insist on dancing whilst waving full glasses/cans around above their heads!

Then there are the irritating people who came and stood in front of me on the top of the steps up to the bar -presumably to get a better view. I wouldn't have minded if they'd actually been watching the band, as i could have peered through the gap between their heads, but no, they wanted to talk to each other so all I could see were their bobbing heads! I'm all in favour of zones according to h

Marmite is yummy. I like it best thinly spread on hot buttered toast so that it all soaks in.....or on cheese sandwiches...or added to soups and casseroles.....like a veggie version of Bovril!

"Dr Logan has devoted his life to developing a super-bra that will stop women’s breasts bouncing around during exercise, but with very limited success so far." Hell I'd be grateful if I could just get one that fits!

I met him in his heyday, strolling up George Street in Richmond with Phil Lynott. Phil always used to speak to us anyway, but John was very nice and pleasant too.

So? He's disenchanted with certain aspects of his job / career....it's hardly unique. Even being in a former supergroup must have its downside!

Dunno why it was all so late, but when we got there at 8.30 (and a sound check was going on) it was being said that HOL were coming on at 11pm and were going to play a 90 minute set. It was a great night, I especially enjoyed BJ's drumming. He makes it look so effortless and without even a spot of perspiration! Thoroughly enjoyed it and having only a 2 mile journey home, was able to stay to t
