I must've played it about 20 times now on constant rotation in my car and I like it, I just don't love it. I was hoping something on it would really move me - make me cry or make me want to dance but in that respect I was disappointed. Good news about it set to hit the charts though - I'd love to see it do really well.

UFO, Newcastle City Hall 1980, I was 24 and it was my first proper gig. Maybe that's why I've never grown out of going to concerts despite being in my 50s. I'm still making up for lost time!

I think David Coverdale proves that if you're comfortable in your own skin and you have the right attitude you can come out smelling of roses whatever the situation - even in the unlikely setting of Loose Women. You could probably put him in the stocks at a fairground and he'd win the crowd round with his banter.

Before I even followed your link I was already preparing to respond to your post and argue that the best TV ad ever was....... the one in your link!! Thanks for posting - now I can watch it whenever I want.

But what exactly can be done? Teenagers, more than any other group, are tremendously influenced by their peers and as macabre as it sounds, it's become the fashionable thing to do. I can still remember my mother saying to me at that age, "If so-and-so jumped off a cliff, would you have to do it as well?" I think that's basically what it boils down to.

I have a Phillips Streamium, 99 quid from PC World which streams direct from my wireless router to my TV (it can also be connected to a stereo). It streams direct from the Internet and from a PC. It's ideal for listening to Internet radio, watching downloaded music clips or films on the TV or viewing photos from your hardrive, etc. etc. And it's dead easy to set up. Even this helpless lone f

Was picked at random to go on stage with illusionist Derren Brown who claimed to have memorised the address of everyone in the audience from the theatre's booking system. I told him my name, he thought for a couple of seconds and to my amazement came out with my address. Cue huge round of applause. "Are you coming round after the show then?" says I. Audience laughs. I feel like a sta

Could the Crewe crew please post ASAP as to whether he turned up and if he was sober. I think a spontaneous trip to Blackpool the following night may be on the cards so would really appreciate some feedback. Thanks!

Yeah, the way Rudolf crawled across the stage to do that headstand was seriously odd. But as a yoga practicant myself, I was lost in admiration for his perfect balance. I can only manage about 2 seconds without a retaining wall!

Woody, you coward! He sounded sober as a judge from what I could make out. Very courteous and polite. Fingers crossed he doesn't mess up for the zillionth time as I'd really love to see him but I'm not taking any chances.

Goodness me, that's one interview I wouldn't relish conducting. I mean, the man's legendary problems have, if not overshadowed, at least equalled his standing as a musician. So how on earth do you interview him on live radio without treading on very dangerous ground? Michael Schenker is the ONLY guitarist I would go to see if he was on stage alone, with nothing but him and his guitar. I do h

@!#$, when I saw this header I thought it meant Journey were touring with Ten and I was going to have to break my vow never to go to another Journey gig!

If next year is to be the final Firefest I can't think of a better way for it to end than with the band which has had the best-ever audience reaction of any I've ever seen at a Gods or Firefest event. To experience them is to be captivated by them. I realise they Gotthard aren't a big enough draw to headline the show but this could maybe be circumvented by having the big crowd puller come on ea

That was one of my all-time favourite gigs, been many a long year since I enjoyed a show as much as I did last night. I first saw Gotthard in 2003 in Germany and although it was a much more spectacular show (Steve Lee being lowered from the ceiling into the middle of the audience in a cage containing a second drum kit, whereupon he did a drum duel with the main drummer), their most recent albums

I think people can be so snobbish and narrow-minded about popular culture, i.e. if it's popular it must be crap. I've never subscribed to that theory, I can equally enjoy a high-brow documentary or X-Factor, or go to see Gotthard this weekend and Take That the next. It's all part of life's rich tapestry. As to the rigged question. I'd have thought that for no other reason than all the recent sca

Nah, he only got into trouble when he posted in the middle of one of Andrew's threads. His post is intended for anyone who's had their fingers burned in the past, hasn't bought a ticket yet and is just planning on turning up on the day. Travel plans for Dokken to follow, I expect!!

By the way, I am aware that people like her have totally undermined the record industry to the point of ruin, especially in smaller genres like ours. But I find it harsh that one silly woman is being made such a scapegoat when millions of others get off scot-free.

She surely can't have come to the conclusion off her own bat that she had any chance of winning the case. I wonder if the lawyer who's quoted in the piece encouraged her to fight it with less thought of her interests than lining his own pockets. Of course she's behaved illegally but the severity of her crime doesn't warrant her being financially ruined for the rest of her life.

Since complaining bitterly on here about the lack of a refund and then getting a pending Paypal payment minutes later, I promised to post and set the record straight when it cleared so just being true to my word.

I think you've blown your chances of the majority of female readers wanting to hook up with her by your description. A woman who's sufficiently gorgeous to have band members following her into toilets is going to make most of us look like Cinderella's ugly sisters in comparison. LOL!!!

Paul, I emailed you in order to take you up on your kind offer of a refund on the Thunderground ticket until Daren Salter pays up but unfortunately my message was returned stating "mailbox unavailable". You can reach me on the email shown in my profile, just remove the nospam. Thanks again for this, I really appreciate it and look forward to hearing from you.

It's funny you should say that Tony but I was thinking exactly the same thing, although not about Andrew, rather about Daren Salter - who as things stand still has my money and has ignored my refund request. Going by the last thread on here about it, I wasn't alone in not having heard from him. It occurred to me that had Mark Alger done the same thing, he'd have been torn to shreds.

Sent an email to Daren last week but no reply and no refund yet. Although my heart genuinely goes out to him having to give refunds out of his own pocket, I think that before making the decision to stage any kind of event a promoter has to be aware right at the outset that it's a gamble, that he/she may take a sizeable financial hit and have sufficient funds to be able to live with the consequenc

Thanks everyone - I'll just wait and see what happens then - I feel better knowing I'm not the only one still waiting! I think my not going was partly due to not wanting to pay again for something I'd already paid for plus having seen DF several times already and not being blown away by WigWam last year (although I did enjoy them). When you go to gigs on your own as I do I think you have to be

I noticed several people on hear saying their refunds had come through so I just sat back and expected mine to come automatically to my Paypal account but it hasn't. Did the people who've had a refund request it? If so, who do I contact please? I know I got my ticket direct from Thunderground by recorded delivery but I can't remember how I ordered it, I run on autopilot half the time!!! I thin

I don't know the answer - I just wanted to say "aww", you must be so proud that she shares your excellent taste in music. I do hope she gets to go - and I get to see her there! I love to see young kids at gigs - I saw some 12 year old lads going berserk at Deep Purple this year, not an adult in sight. Fair warmed the cockles of my heart! Fingers crossed for you both!!
