I give everything new 1-5 spins. If it's really really good then I just keep playing it. For example the new Degreed album I gave 55 spins, the new Scorpions I gave 31 spins, new Reckless Love 26 spins and new Saxon got 13. (according to my last.fm profile......yes my OCD is showing lol).

Gene Simmons admits to ripping the riff from Nasty Nasty, but as a co-writer on Nasty Nasty I guess he's kind of just stealing from himself?

One of my favorites from 1985 - 1990. Came across this by accident on Facebook today: https://www.loudersound.com/features/misfires-and-mistakes-the-luckless-story-of-shy-hair-metals-ultimate-nearly-men?fbclid=IwAR2RIRIy9MQHegd3hY77-2paeMSp60ADj-0kAoR3T32za2LQ8uDIFaCcvKs

I actually really like both these teams so I'll just sit back and enjoy the amazing hockey and I'm fine with either outcome. The series reminds me of the 82-83 finals between the Oilers and Islanders. The older team with all the experience against the young high flying Oilers with the highest skill level in the world. Experience won that time around, and the Oilers rectified that the next ye

I think the Valley Girl soundtrack might be the best I own. It came in two cd's with 31 total songs. This was how I discovered Modern English, the Payolas, The Plimsouls, Josie Cotton and the Psychedelic Furs. Gary Myrick's "Time To Win" also an awesome song from the soundtrack. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1n7P4qhroo

Seeing I had a large LP collection, I held out as long as I could until buying LP's was almost impossible. The first CD I bought after I finally caved in was Shotgun Messiah's debut.

We have a guy in my city who comes into our radio station once a week to record a radio show of unknown artists from the 60's to present, and last week he featured a full show of the early 70's Australian band "Fraternity" with Bon Scott on Vocals. It was pretty cool

Funny story today, I leave work at lunch for a walk and notice two huge busses at the hotel across the street and I think "hmm, someone important is in town". Georgia plates on the busses. Two minutes later one block further down a guy walks past me and then he suddenly b-lines to a restaurant patio to someone having lunch asking "are you __________??" I didn't hear the r

Found the first Gun cassette in a 99 cent bin around 1993. I had heard "Of" them, but never a note of their music. Was a great find. I soon went out and bought the cd for Gallus right after that, then eagerly anticipated 1994's Swagger when it was released and drove 140 KMS to go buy it on release day.

Thanks Don, A friend of mine was in a bad spot, so I helped them. More than I should have. To the point where it's had a major effect on my life now. I actually missed your poll, so you can add "80's" as my favorite decade.

Don I hope to get back to the album polls at some point. I've had a rough 2022 so far personally so not on the board much, and won't post a poll till I can give it my full attention.

Still one of the most played bands on Canadian radio as CRTC rules states 35% of all music played has to be Canadian. They had several hit songs that still get played daily. The guitar sound is similar to the Headpins as that was guitarist Brian "Too Loud" Macleod's next project after Chilliwack.

I remember thinking there was a big drop off from the first album to the second. I didn't like the follow up at all. I have both in my collection, I will give a re-visit.

Unleash The Beast from 1997 was pretty fantastic. I did a deep dive into Saxon's back catalog in the summer of 2020. even posted about it here and got tonnes of comments on what albums to check out. I listened to them for a straight month non-stop. From that deep dive I made a Saxon 30 song playlist that I revisit frequently. I preferred the 80's and 90's stuff to the 2000's, but do think C
