Hey guys, Sorry, like I said I don't get on here that much, but I was just sharing a viewpoint. I have made some slight adjustments in hindsight, after re-reviewing the review, as well as my notes at the time and feedback I've received. I have also been pretty tired lately and although it took a while to get that review up, perhaps I also should have proof read it through when I was more awak

Hi folks, Sadly I don't get on here anymore as much as I ever used to due to lack of free time, but felt that since this relates to Andrew and the great event he put on for everyone of us once again with MRF3, I'd share. :) You can say I'm just looking to plug my site, but it's really not that as it's almost getting to the point where I may actually call it quits with Chambers of Rock, due

Carl, I couldn't agree more with you! :) I was never into The Almighty at all, so wasn't 100% convinced, but that said, then I remembered having seen Ricky open for Leppard twice on the 'X' tour and thought he sounded alright then ... Certainly plenty of Lizzy about it to me, even a nod to Gary Moore on a track or two as well IMHO. One thing I think for certain though, is 'Bound For Glory' i

I've always loved the man's music, seen him live many times here in the US ... Don't know if he ever played the UK though? He's not done bad for an ex-cop, eh?! Sad thing we've always found when we've seen him in recent years and I've been watching him live here since 2001, is he just looks so past it ... He comes onstage wearing a bad comedian suit, looking so dated and really so much old

Hi folks, Sad news about Eric Sykes, used to love watching the guy ... British tradition for so many ... BTW - If anyone's interested, I posted the interview I did earlier this year with Howard Leese yesterday, finally got it typed up ... http://www.chambersofrock.blogspot.com/2012/07/interview-with-howard-leese-2012.html One with David Paich almost all typed up too. Looking forwar

Thanks for sharing folks, appreciate it. :) I totally love NR, they get so overlooked against so many others and now I live in the States, I've made a point of trying to catch them, everytime they come close to Detroit. I have never been disappointed with them live. Last year with Journey and Foreigner, I missed reviewing the show as I got a call last minute that I had to fly back home as my

Scott - I hoped Robin would hook up with Michael as soon as I heard the new track with them together on 'Temple of Rock,' but the rest of the tracks are sung by Michael Voss, bar the one Dio'esque number. I did drop Michael a note asking him to bring Robin back when I heard the song, but doubtful he took my advice ... I wish! LOL! Anyway, the other thing is, the Temple of Rock tour will fea

Thanks for sharing your comments folks, Steve is a great guy, I'm glad to hear the show went better than last year and here's hoping the guy gets more opportunities to play live. I can tell you this, he wants to! Cheers, Al http://www.chambersofrock.blogspot.com/

I know both Eric Ragno and Pete Fry have posted on FB about Steve and Newman the band doing well and perhaps Pete was a little biased - Right Pete?! LOL! - but don't see much else said this year? Last year, loads of people were saying how impressive they were one they got past the opening number or two ...? Just curious ... Also, what was the set list from Coney Hatch? Cheers folks,

My gig review of the Detroit show with Ace Frehley opening for anyone interested? http://chambersofrock.blogspot.com/2011/08/alice-cooper-plus-ace-frehley-live-at.html Alice has been totally rocking out at his very best I'd say on this tour, especially from other reviews I've read elsewhere too. :) Cheers, Al

LOL! Don't expect any more posts from the UK for a few hours yet! It is only 4.15am right now ... All wiped out about now I'm guessing! Probably be plenty more come the end of the weekend, with everyone doing their own summing up of the whole event. We'll see I guess ... Al

Last Temptation is certainly my fav Alice album, but then if you look at the sleeve notes on who wrote and played on it, it's little surprise that melodic rockers love it! Jack Blades, Tommy Shaw, Chris Cornell, Jim Vallance, Stef Burns on guitars, Greg Smith (Bass), Derek Sherinian (Keys) and more ... I love the classics, didn't like Brutal Planet although saw the tour. Latest album is ki

I know I wasn't there guys, but kind of in fairness to Jeff, he's been on the road for a while, as a backing musician to Keb' Mo' (Kevin Moore) - http://www.kebmo.com/site/about/the-band - blues player so perhaps playing blues for a while, may have taken a little of the rock edge away from the guy. Wonder when the last time Jeff Paris played live solo or as a rock player? Kind of a shame, but

Jason Pawlak is an extremely talented musician / songwriter, not only did he show that with his own, self financed / produced release, 'Stolen Season' a few years back, but he's also written with Goodbye Thrill, Far Cry and Tango Down, too. He comes from a musical family and if you like the Chasing Magic stuff, there's possibly stuff you'll like on his Dad's (Dennis Pawlak) project Kindred Saint

Couple of things here folks ... First off, this Scott Rolaf is clearly out of order, for going against JLT's wishes and requests to 'NOT' post / share the demo's as they are, but the guy has already gone ahead at his site, making all the recorded tracks available for free at his site ... That's bad enough, but ... He's also trying to bloody sell 2 of the tracks through Amazon.com now! http:/

Folks, I have to tell you ... Having moved to the States, from the UK 11 years ago, I KNOW exactly what you're all saying! I am fortunate to have got to finally see so many of the bands that NEVER or only came over for like 1 UK date - Like NR here. - in the past. Before I moved out here, NR were always one of, if not my fav US bands - Ask Steve Newman, he'll tell you, right mate?! - and I

Sadly, the likes of local 'heroes' (Cough) Eminem, White Stripes, Iggy, Kid Rock ..., tends to 'really' influence so many people. Also, gigs are getting harder to get now. Many of my mates here in cover bands - Not too many original melodic hard rock bands obvious here in Detroit. - tell me that bar owners are changing all the time, bar managers too and of course many have their favourite acts,

Also, along with what Vinny is saying - And I can't blame him ... They are after all songs the guy co-wrote! - a hell of a lot of these file sharing sites can cripple your PC's in a flash or over time ... Not cool. People just need to remember the risks you run, with file sharing at some of the locations out there ... I know, I'm guilty of having done it in the past too, all too often, like the

I hear you Terry, 100% ... I've been playing for years myself. Back in the UK around 1986, I kind of gave up playing due to the local music scene in Portsmouth (UK), just dying ... It was also, as we all know, so tough to keep line ups together, with the personal differences, ideas, some pie in the sky and I know we all have dreams, but sometimes ... I started again, around '97/'98, after being

Fitz played keyboards for Van Halen on the 2004 Hagar re-union tour, out of sight of the audience and then I believe he got hooked up with The Alliance project again, but has since vanished ... To my knowledge ...? Maybe he did keys again on the last VH tour, but I didn't hear anything relating to that .... As to Jeff Watson ... It's a sore point between a lot of fans ... He did actually co-writ

Well Terry, you know on last years tour, they were apparently playing one or two new songs in the set ... I've caught them every year, here in Michigan during their summer live dates and last summer they played in Waterford, MI and their set included among other varied album tracks, 'You're Gonna Hear It From Me.' My review of that show is here: http://chambersofrock.blogspot.com/2010/07/night-r

Hey Niv, I know they never did much in the UK, they never came over to play, until they opened for Foreigner on their Inside Information tour and I was bummed, because I found out too late to go. :( I got into NR through listening to the the afternoon US Top 40 on Radio 1, on Saturday's, as well as Jonathan King's 'Entertainment USA' and his 'No Limits' show after that. It got me into a lot of A
